CHAPTER 2

OFUDESAKI/CHAPTER 2/ 1869

(Korekara wa) (okwan michi o) (tsuke kakeru) 5-7-5

(sekai no kokoro) (mina isameru de) 2-1 7-7

From now on, a broad path (I) begin to establish.

The world’s mind, all I will make spirited.

(Kami taru wa) (kokoro isande) (kuru hodoni) 5-7-5 waka

(Nandoki ni kuru) (kokugen ga kita) 2-2 7-7

Those in high places, with the mind spirited, they will come. Because

when they will come, this appointed time has come.

(Cha tsunde) (ato karitorite) (shimota nara)   5-7-5

(Ato i deru no wa) (Yoki-zutome ya) 2-3   7-7

The tea trimmed, later harvested, and if grounded,

what follows later, the Joyous Service.

(Kono Tsutome) (doko kara kuru to) (omou kana)   5-7-5 waka

(Kami taru tokoro) (isami kuru zo ya) 2-4   7-7

This Service, where do they come from, you think?  (who’s mind is the Service talking about when we pray and chant, “Evil sweeping, save them please”)

Those in  high places, they will come spirited (Jan. 26, 1887).

(Dandan to) (Kami no shugo to) (yu mono wa)   5-7-5 waka

(Mezurashi koto o) (mina shikakeru de) 2-5   7-7

Step by step, God’s protection that is said,

marvelous (new) things will all begin (illness as guidance by the Joyous Service or illness of followers by weeding).

(Nichinichi ni) (Kami no kokoro no) (sekikomi o)   5-7-5 waka

(Mina ichiretsu wa) (nanto omoteru) 2-6   7-7

Day by day, the mind of God hastens.

All everyone, what are you thinking?

(Nani nitemo) (yamai itami wa) (sarani nashi)   5-7-5 waka

(Kami no sekikomi) (tebiki naru zo ya) 2-7   7-7

Whatever happens, illness and pain, furthermore are nonexistent.

These are God’s hastening, and guidance to occur.

(Sekikomi mo) (naniyue naru to) (yu naraba)   5-7-5 waka

(Tsutome no ninju) (hoshii koto kara) 2-8   7-7

Also the hastening, why would it occur, if one were to say.

Because the members of the Service are desired is the concern.

(Kono Tsutome) (nanno koto ya to) (omote iru)   5-7-5 waka

(Yorozu tasuke no) (moyo bakari o) 2-9   7-7

This Service, what do you think it is about?

All salvation’s  preparation only.

(Kono tasuke) (ima bakari towa) (omouna yo)   5-7-5

(Kore matsudai no) (Koki naru zo ya) 2-10   7-7

This salvation, about only now, do not think.

This is the perpetuity of the Devine record that will occur.

(Choto hanashi) (nobose kanteki) (yute iru)   5-7-5 waka

(Yamai dewa nai) (Kami no sekikomu) 2-11   7-7

Just a little talk. Dizziness and madness, that is said,

illness it is not. It is God’s hastening.

(Dandan to) (shinjitsu Kami no) (ichijo o)   5-7-5 waka

(Toite kikasedo) (mada wakari nai) 2-12   7-7

Step by step, the true God’s desire,

is to explain and inform you. But you still do not understand. (directed to early followers).

(Hayabaya to) (omote deyo to) (omoedomo)   5-7-5 waka

(michi ga note wa) (deru ni deraren) 2-13   7-7

Quickly to go out to appear, I am thinking.

There is no path; I want to go out, but cannot go out.(Kanrodai location not identified yet to direct prayer toward).

(Kono michi o) (hayaku tsukeyo to) (omoedomo)

(Hoka naru toko de) (tsukeru toko nashi) 2-14

This path, quickly to install, I am thinking,

Other becoming places, installing place is unacceptable. (the early followers have to purify their minds to locate the Kanrodai, the location of the original mind so they can direct their prayers).

(Kono michi o) (shinjitsu omou) (koto naraba)   5-7-5 waka

(Mune no uchi yori) (yorozu shiyan se) 2-15   7-7

This path, (path of heart/Broad path) if you truly think about it.

From what comes from the innermost heart, all ponder ( the soul reminds one of the dusts in the mind by manifesting sufferings. When one ponders and not act on these evil thoughts when suffering occurs, the mind becomes more pure).

(Kono hanashi) (nano koto ya to) (omote iru)   5-7-5 waka

(Kami no uchiwake) (basho sekikomu) 2-16   7-7

This talk, what is it about, you are thinking.

God’s residence, the location I am hastening for. (God talking to early followers to find God’s residence by having a pure mind to locate where to place Kanrodai the location of the original mind. This purification of the mind is done by pondering what comes from the heart/soul, and not acting on the evil thoughts).

(Kono michi ga) (choto miekaketa) (koto naraba)   5-7-5

(sekai no kokoro) (mina isami deru) 2-17   7-7

When this path (path of the heart) can be easily seen. When this happens,

the world’s mind will all become spirited.

(Nani nitemo) (Kami no yu koto) (shikato kike)   5-7-5 waka

(Yashiki no soji) (deketa koto nara) 2-18   7-7

Whatever happen, what God says, listen firmly.

The sweeping of the Residence, if it continues.

(Mo mieru) (yokome furu ma mo) (nai hodoni)   5-7-5

(Yume mita yoni) (hokori chiru zo ya) 2-19   7-7

like seeing a dream, the dust will disappear!

(Kono hokori) (sukiyaka harota) (koto naraba)   5-7-5 waka

(Ato wa yorozu no) (tasuke ichijo) 2-20   7-7

afterwards there will be only universal salvation.

(Konosaki wa) (dandan Tsutome) (sekikonde)   5-7-5 waka

Universal salvation, the preparing only.

(Sekaiju) (doko ga ashiki) (ya itamisho)   5-7-5 waka

(Kami no michiose) (tebiki shirazu ni) 2-22   7-7

In the world, where evil (thoughts) are. Such things as pain

are God’s road sign of guidance, to let you know.

(Kono yo ni) (yamai to yute) (nai hodoni)    5-7-5 waka

(Minouchi sawari) (mina shiyan seyo) 2-23   7-7

These workings, illness that is said, it is not. Because

disorders within the body, all ponder over it.

(Nichinichi ni) (Kami no sekikomi) (kono tasuke)   5-7-5 waka

(Mina ichiretsu wa)( nanto omoteru) 2-24   7-7

Day after day, God is hastening this salvation.

All everyone, what are you all thinking about?

(Takayama no) (oike ni waita) (mizu naredo)   5-7-5 waka

(Debana wa nigori) (gomoku majiri de)  2-25

In the high mountain’s pond, water gushes.

(Dandan to) (kokoro shizumete) (shiyan suru)   5-7-5 waka

(Sundaru mizu to) (kawari kuru zo ya) 2-26   7-7

(Nichinichi ni) (kokoro tsukusuru) (sono kata wa)   5-7-5

the heart (soul) is settling. The future is promising. (due to positive energy of the heart/soul bringing upon joy and no negative energy)

(Korekara wa) (takayama ike i) (tobihairi)   5-7-5 waka

(Ikana gomoku mo) (soji suru nari) 2-29   7-7
