OFUDESAKI/ CHAPTER 10/  1875 TENRIKYO

(shinjitsu no) (kokoro Tsukihi ga) (misadamete)        *-

(ten yori watasu) (atae naru no wa) 10-1

The Original mind, the mind that God ascertains,

From Heaven will be given the gift, resulting in.

*when God accepts our pure mind, our prayers will be accepted, bringing upon God’s blessings

(choto shitaru) (koto towa sarani) (omouna yo)    *-

(ten yori fukai) (omowaku ga aru) 10-2

To do a little about, furthermore do not think.

From heaven, the intention is profound that exist.

(kono hanashi) (douyuu koto de) (arou nara)     *-

(kara tenjiku mo) (kokoro sumashite) 10-3

This talk, what is it about if it exists? 

Kara and also India will have their minds settled.

(kono kokoro) (doushite sumasu) (koto naraba)     *-

(Tsukihi tobideta) (atchi kotchi) to 10-4

These minds, how would they be purified, if it occurs.

God will rush out, there and here.

(dandan to) (Tsukihi tainai) (irikonde)    *-

(juuyojizai o shite) (kakaru de na) 10-5

Step by step, God will enter bodies

free and unlimited workings to do to start.

*place illness as guidance to help one understand the heart to purify the mind

If it is done, how much  kara is said to receive (guidance),

to those in Nihon, this will not come true.

Day by day, at the location where it is seen, be convinced.

Whatever talk one hears, it is about the future.

*in the future, God will begin to work to help people understand the heart and the Original mind

From now on, the people of Nihon, step by step

*God will help them prepare for the Service

(nanimo kamo) (dono yona koto mo) (mina oshie)    *-

In all things, what kind  of things, all I shall teach.

Matters unknown to receive.  Nonexistent workings to do.

*guidance to be given

(nihon niwa) (hashira o tateta) (koto naraba)    *-

(yamazu shinazu ni) (yowari naki yoni) 10-11

In Nihon, if the Pillar is erected, if this occurs,

to fall ill, to die, and to weaken will become nonexistent.

*heaven on earth to occur

(imamade wa) (kara ya to yuute) (habikarite)    *-

(mamani shite ita) (kondo kayashi o) 10-12

Until now, those of Kara has said to be unpleasant and rampant,

doing as they please. This time I shall give returns.

*returns are illness as guidance to help one understand the heart

(Tsukihi tobideta) (mamani suru nari )10-13

This talk, to anyone in any case, to say is nonexistent.

God will go out, to do as pleases, to attain (the Original mind).

(koremade mo) (Tsukihi o shiran) (mono wa nai)    *-

(naredo honmoto) (shirita mono nashi) 10-14

Even until now, a God not knowing person, does not exist.

Although, the true Origin understanding person is nonexistent.

*this date refer to when guidance will occur

The weeding of others is finished, dependent on.

*the weeding refers to God guiding the early followers to purify their minds.

(tsutome no ninjuu) (mina yorite kuru)10-17

Then afterwards, what marvelous path will occur.

The members of the Service, all will come and assemble.

(nanto Yamato wa) (erai hounen) 10-18

Step by step, and day by day, the minds will become spirited.

*the minds refer to the people in the high mountains

Surprisingly, Yamato a great harvest.

*the performance of the Joyous Service will bring many people to our places of worship

(ika naru nan mo) (mina nogareru de) 10-19

Day by day, quickly, the Service hasten it.

Any impending difficulties also, all will be avoided.

(dono youna) (mutsukashiku naru) (yamai demo)    *-

(tsutome ichijo de) (mina tasukaru de) 10-20

Any kind of impending serious illness,

solely by the Service, all will be saved. 

*this service is what we call the “Sazuke Service” to heal people

(Kanroudai no) (tsutome ichijo) 10-21

As to the service, what Service to do, if performed.

Central Pillars’ Service solely.

*the Central Pillar is where God exist.

(kono dai o) (douyuu koto ni) (omou kana)     *-

(kore Nippon no) (Oya de aru zo ya) 10-22

This Pillar, what is it about, you may think.

This is Nihon’s Parent that exist.

In a thousand, without failure in even one instance.

For the Original mind, the mind settles. Ponder it.

The conveyance person, I firmly request.

(kono dai o) (koshirae yo tote) (dandan ni)     *-

(Tsukihi ninjuu no) (moyou suru nari) 10-29

This Pillar, to make and obtain, step by step

God, the members’ preparation to do, to attain (the Central Pillar).

*God is preparing their minds to become pure

(ninjuu ga) (shikato yoritaru) (koto naraba)    *-

(sono mama dai mo) (dekeru koto ya de) 10-30

The members, certainly assembled, if this happens,

by itself, the Pillar also will continue to occur.

(kono michi wa) (douyuu koto de) (aru naraba)   *-

(Tsukihi tsutome no) (tee o Oshiete) 10-31

This path, what is it about, if it exist.

God, the Service hand movements will teach.

(soreyori mo) (Tsukihi ichiretsu) (Sekaijuu)     *-

(tsurete deta nara) (hitori dekeru de) 10-32

Thereafter, if God, to everyone in the world,

goes out to accompany them, by oneself they can continue (to purify the heart and mind).

*God guides everyone. Then by oneself, they can purify the mind and the heart

(kore saika) (tashikani deketa) (koto naraba)   *-

(tsukizuki tsutome) (chigau koto nashi) 10-33

This circumstance certainly continued, if this occurs,

*the circumstance of people able to purify the mind and heart by understanding God’s guidance

the becoming Service, failure incident will be none.

(tsutome sai) (chigawan youni) (natta nara)   *

(ten no atae mo) (chigau koto nashi) 10-34

The Service, the circumstance of no failure. By the workings if they occur,

*guidance to occur

the Gift of Heaven also, failure incident will be none.

(kono michi  wa) (makoto shinjitsu) (mutsukashii)   *-

(michi de aru zo ya) (mina shiyan seyo) 10-35

This path is the truth. The Original mind is a difficult 

*path is the path of the heart to attain the Original mind

path that exist. All must ponder!

(kono ninjuu) (doko ni aru yara) (shiromai na)     *-

(Tsukihi miwakete) (mina hikiyoseru) 10-36

These members, where are they, you may not know.

God will discern them, and all draw them forth.

(dono youna) (tokoro no mono to) (yuuta tote)    *-

(Tsukihi juuyou shite) (miseru de na) 10-37

Which kind of place, a person is said to be,

+talking about the Original instruments that will eventually participate in the Service

God’s blessing will be shown.

*God’s blessings or guidance to attain their Original mind

(shinjitsu o mite) (yakuwari o suru) 10-38

Step by step, the members assemble. Upon that,

the Original mind discerning, I will assign the parts.

(yakuwari mo) (douyuu koto de) (aru naraba)      *-

(kagura juu nin) (ato I narimono) 10-39

The assignments, what is it about, if it exist.

10 people for the Kagura, the remainder, the harvested people.

*the 10 members are the Original instruments that were used in the creation of human beings. The harvested people are the ones who were brought to the Residence, by performing the Joyous Service.

(kore saika) (hayaku shikkari) (sorota nara)     *-

(donna koto demo) (deken koto nashi) 10-40

This circumstance, quickly and firmly the assembly taking place.

What kind of things, there is nothing that cannot be done.

(kyoukara wa) (Dandan monku) (kawaru de na)     *-

(imamade shiran) (koto bakari yuu) 10-41

From today, step by step, the situation will change.

God’s  teaching about these, has been nonexistent.

(oshiete kitaru) (koto de aredomo) 10-43

From God, mostly whatever, step by step, to  arrive to teach about exists. But

(konotabi wa) (mata sono ue no) (shiran koto)   *-

(nanimo shinjitsu) (mina yute kikasu) 10-44

this time again on top of that, unknown things,

anything of the Original mind, all will be told.

(koremade wa) (kara ya to yuute) (habikarita)     *-

(kore mo Tsukihi ga) (oshie kitaru de )10-45

Until now, Kara has been said to be unpleasant and rampant.

This also God has come to teach them.

(konotabi wa) (Tsukihi moto e to) (tachikairi)      *-

(ki no ne shikkari) (mina arawasu de) 10-46

This time, God returning to the Origin,

the root of the tree, clearly all will be revealed.

(kono you no) (moto o shikkari) (shirita mono)    *

(doko no mono demo) (sarani arumai) 10-47

These workings of the Origin clearly, a knowing person,

no one anywhere, furthermore does not exist.

(shinjitsu ni) (kono moto saika) (shikkari to) 

(shiritaru naraba) (doko i ita tote) 10-48 

For the Original mind, this Origin, on the occasion is firmly

if understood, where it exist to obtain.

*one must understand the Origin to fully understand the Original pure mind. The Original pure mind from God was given to the first parents of human beings.

(kore toritsugi ni) (shikomitai no ya) 10-49

This the intermediates, I desire to train in.

The human Origin, this throughout the world to understand.

Quickly, this Original mind, to everyone

*the Original mind given to the first parents in the creation of human beings

if it is informed, the talk they will understand.

(ika hodoni) (hanashi o toite) (kikashitemo)    *-

(moto o Shirashite) (ikan koto niwa) 10-52

These workings of, earth and heaven are your true parent.

*from the muddy ancient ocean of the earth came the instrument to create the human body. From heaven, the Original pure mind was given to the first parents who began human beings

From that, was created human beings that exist.

(bakari yuu zo ya) (shikato kiku nari) 10-55

From now on, Kara also and nihon also, unknown things,

only to say. Certainly listen to attain.

(mina ichiretsu ni) (shikomitai kara) 10-56

(doudo hayaku ni) (kore o waketai) 10-58

this mind, how can I make you understand.

*this mind is God’s mind

Quickly, this to distinguish. 

(sekaijuu) (shinjitsu yori mo) (mune no uchi)      *-

(wakarita naraba) (Tsukihi tanoshimi) 10-59

The world, to approach the Original mind. The heart’s interior,

if it is understood, God will be delighted.

*one needs to understand the heart to purify their own minds

(sorekara wa) (ichiretsu naru no) (mune no uchi)    *-

(wakarita naraba) (Tsukihi soreyori) 10-60

After that, when everyone resulting in, where the  heart’s interior

is understood, God will then…

(dandan to) (nichinichi kokoro) (isame kake)     *-

(youkizukume o) (mina ni oshiete) 10-61

step by step, day by day, make the minds spirited.

Complete joy, to all will be taught.

(sekaijuu) (ooku no hito no) (mune no uchi)    *-

(mina sumashitaru) (koto de aru nara) 10-62

In the world, the majority of people’s  heart’s interior

are all settled. If this condition exists,

(soreyori mo) (Tsukihi no kokoro) (isami dete)  *-

(donna koto demo) (mina oshieru de) 10-63

from that God’s mind spirited, will appear. 

and everything all will be taught.

(dono youna) (koto demo Tsukihi) (shinjitsu ni)   *-

(mina ichiretsu ni) (oshietai no ya) 10-64

Whatever kinds of things, God, to attain the Original mind,

all to everyone, I want to teach

(shinjitsu no) (kokoro ga hoshii) (Tsukihi niwa)  *-

(donna koto demo) (shikomitai kara) 10-65

The Original mind, the mind I want. From God,

what kind of things, I will like to teach.

(kono hanashi) (nani o shikomu to) (omou kana)      *-

(korekara saki no) (yorozu michisuji) 10-66

This talk, what do I train you in, one may think.

From now on, of the future, all the paths.

(kyoumade wa) (nani yono koto mo) (miendomo)    *-

(hi ga chikazukeba) (hitori mieru de) 10-67

From God, day by day, my mind hastens.

Whatever preparations I will do, you do not know.

(sekikomi mo) (nanino koto yara) (shiromai na)   *-

(Kanroudai no) (moyou bakari ya) 10-70

The hastening, what is it about? You do not know.

The Central Pillar’s preparation only.

*The completion of the Central Pillar will signify when most of the world is purified in their minds.

because I feel pity for you, the situation I want to replace.

Topic change

(shiyan seyo) (kuchi de nani goto) (yuuta tote).      *-

(tashikana shouko) (nakuba ikan de) 10-73

Ponder over it. By mouth, whatever is said to result in.

Certain proof, if there is none, it will not do.

*no proof of illness as guidance

(Tsukihi yori) (tainai yori mo) (irikonde)      *_

(juuyojizai no) (sashizu shouko ya) 10-74

From God, from within the body enters.

Free and unlimited instructions, this is proof.

 *guidance is the proof

(soreyue ni) (imamade doko ni) (nai koto o)    *-

Therefore until now, where things were nonexistent, to

(shiran koto oba) (oshietai kara) 10-78

What kind of things are spoken, it is all God. 

*spoken from the mouth of Oyasama

Unknown things, because God wants to teach.

(kono yashiki) (Kanroudai o) (sueru no wa)      *-

(ningen hajime) (kaketa shoukou) 10-79

This Residence, the Central Pillar I will place, is 

human beings beginning to start, the proof of it.

(nani goto mo) (mina kono touri) (hajime kake)   *-

(sekaiju no) (kokoro sumasuru) 10-80

Everything, all is this truth that I started to make (human beings).

The world’s mind, I will make spirited. 

(nichinichi ni) (nandemo sekai) (ichiretsu o)     *-

(isameru moyou) (bakari suru zo ya) 10-81

Day by day, by all means, in the world, everyone,

to make spirited, the preparation only will I do.

*when the mind is purified, the mind becomes spirited

(dandan to) (sekai no kokoro) (isamu nara)     *-

(ryuuke morotomo) (mina isami deru) 10-82

Step by step, if the minds of the world becomes spirited,

*when we pray with a purified mind, the Joyous Service will bring upon the following

the harvest received will all appear spirited.

*the harvest refers to the people God brings to our places of worship

(kono kokoro) (doushite isamu) (koto naraba)    *-

(Tsukihi ninsoku) (Tsurete deru zo ya) 10-83

This mind, how is it to be spirited?

God, will go out to accompany the person.

*God will enter the person, and place illness as guidance

(soremade ni) (atchi kotchi to) (dono youna)   *-

(hanashi dandan) (mina kiku de aro )10-84

Until then, there and here, whatever kind of

talk, step by step all will be heard. 

*God telling us that first we must spread the teachings, before God begins to work

(dono youna) (hanashi kiku no mo) (mina saki i)    *-

(yuute aru zo ya) (shiyan shite miyo) 10-85

What kind of talk that is listened , all in the Ofudesaki

have been told before. Ponder and look at it.

*God is telling us that everything has been written in the Ofudesaki

(Tsukihi niwa) (nani o dandan) (yuwareru to)     *-

(omou de arou) (saki no tanoshimi) 10-86

Concerning God, what step by step is to say, 

you are thinking. The future’s delight (is going to say about).

(nani goto mo) (Tsukihi no kokoro) (omou niwa)     *-

(nihon ni kouki) (hoshii koto kara) 10-87

What occurrences, God’s mind is thinking.

In Nihon because spiritedness is the desired occurrence.

(nihon nimo) (kouki o tashika) (koshiraete)     *-

(sore hirometara) (kara wa mama nari) 10-88

In Nihon, spiritedness is certainly made,

and that is propagated, kara as one likes, will become (spirited).

(kono hanashi) (nanto omoute) (mina no mono)    *-

(nihon no mono wa) (mina waga koto ya) 10-89

This talk, what are you thinking all of you?

The people of Nihon, all is your own matter.

*it is up to the people of nihon. They must spread God’s teaching to kara if kara is to change

(sore shirazu) (nanto omoute) (kami taru wa)      *-

(mune ga wakaran) (Tsukihi zannen) 10-90

That unaware of, what are you thinking? The high mountains

cannot understand the heart. The regret of God.

*nihon must spread the truth of the heart to the people of kara

(kono tokoro) (dono yona kouki) (shitaru tomo)     *-

(kore wa nihon no) (takara naru zo ya) 10-91

This place, like what spiritedness is accomplished, certainly 

This will be Nihon’s gathering place.

*gathering place refers to the location of the Central Pillar

(ichiretsu no) (kokoro sadamete) (shiyan seyo)   *-

(hayaku kouki o) (matsu youni seyo) 10-92

Everyone’s mind settled, ponder over it.

Quickly the spiritedness, look forward to the workings.

(shinjitsu no) (kouki ga deketa) (koto naraba)   *-

(donna koto demo) (Tsukihi hiromeru) 10-93

The Original mind’s spiritedness  is accomplished. When this occurs,

*one needs pure mind to spread the teachings

in any situations, God will spread it.

(Tsukihi yori) (hirome o suru to) (yuuta tote)      *-

(mina no kokoro wa) (shouchi dekemai) 10-94

From God, the propagation to do, that is said to receive,

the minds of all, may not be able to ponder.

*people may not understand that they need to understand the heart to purify their own minds, and then spread these teachings to others 

(soreyue ni) (toritsugi yori ni) (shikkari to)

(tanomi oku kara) (shouchi shite iyo) 10-95

Therefore, from the intermediates, because firmly 

requesting you establish (the teachings). Ponder over it.

(kono higara) (kokugen kitaru) (koto naraba)      *-

(nandoki Tsukihi) (doko i iku yara) 10-96

This date, the appointed time comes,  if this happens,

*the appointed time is Jan 26, 1887

When God, and where God would go.

(nichinichi ni) (toritsugi no hito) (shikkari to)    *-

(kokoro shizumete) (hayaku kakare yo) 10-97

Day by day, the intermediate person, firmly

the mind calm, quickly begin!

*quickly spread God’s teachings

(kono michi wa) (douyuu koto ni) (mina no mono)   *-

(omote iru yara) (choto ni wakaran) 10-98

This path, what is it about, all of you

thinking. You do not understand even a little.

(Tsukihi niwa) (nandemo kademo) (shinjitsu o) *-

(kokoro shikkari) (tourinukeru de) 10-99

To God, by all means, the Original mind,

your mind firmly to go through with it.

(kono michi o) (kami e nuketaru) (koto naraba)    *-

(juuyojizai no) (hataraki o suru) 10-100

This path, when it draws out the high places, when this happens,

*need to spread the teachings to the upper reaches of society

blessings I will work to do.

(Tsukihi yori) (kono hataraki o) (shikaketara)      *-

(ikana gouteki) (taru to yuutemo) 10-101

From God, these workings to start,

however great those that say (to oppose).

(kokoro yori) (shinjitsu wakari) (sumikirite)     *-

(donna koto demo) (oya ni motareru) 10-102

About the mind, the Original mind understood, and settled. 

In all situations, God will hold you (to protect you).

(konosaki wa) (Sekaijuu wa) (dokomade mo)     *-

(youkizukume ni) (mina shite kakaru) 10-103

Hereafter, throughout the world, wherever,

complete joy all will be started.

(dandan to) (kono michisuji no) (youtai wa)    *-

(mina waga koto to) (omote shiyan se) 10-104

Step by step, this path, the appearance of,

all a matter of your own, think and ponder.
