quickly hasten to clear it away. 3-1
(sukiyaka ni) (souji shitateta) (koto naraba) *-
(nahamune isogi) (tanomi iru zo ya) 3-2. ?
Quickly if the sweeping (of one’s mind) is done, if this occurs.
Roping (the grounds), the request will be needed.
(shinjitsu ni) (souji o shitaru) (sono nochi wa) *-
(Kami ichijo de) (kokoro isamuru) 3-3
For the Original mind, if the sweeping (of the heart) is done. That done, afterwards
you will be one with God, and your mind will be spirited.
(dandan to) (sekai no kokoro) (isamu nara) *-
(kore ga nihon no) (osamari to naru) 3-4
Step by step, if the world’s mind becomes spirited.
This is Nihon’s settling to occur.
(imamade wa) (nani yono koto mo) (wakari nai) *-
(korekara mieru) (fushigi aizu ga) 3-5
Until now, whatever kind of matter, you have not understood.
From now on, you will see miraculous signs.
(kon mono ni) (muri ni koi towa) (yuu de nashi) *-
(Tsukikuru naraga) (itsu made mo yoshi) 3-6 7-7
This person, by force to come, to say, I do not.
But if you come to God, forever it will be good.
(korekara wa) (mizu ni tatoete) (hanashi suru) *-
(sumu to nigori de) (satori toru nari) 3-7

The Original mind’s Pillar, I want to quickly put in.

This pillar, quickly to put in I am thinking.
Because of the muddy water, the location you cannot find.
*the early followers need to purify their minds to locate the Pillar
(kono mizu o) (hayaku sumasuru) (moyoudate) *-
(suino to suna ni) (kakete sumase yo) 3-10
This water, quickly to clear, the preparation.
Filter and sand, apply it to purify it.
*water refers to the mind
(kono suino) (doko ni aru ya to) (omouna yo) *-
(mune to kuchi to ga) (suna to suino ya) 3-11
This filter, where is it, do not think.
The heart and the mouth are the sand and filter.
*what obstacles the heart/soul brings upon, if we do not act or speak upon them we can purify our own minds.

This talk, thoroughly understanding comes to be.
*heart is understood
That condition, to put in the Original mind’s Pillar.
*world understands the heart

The Pillar on the occasion it is completely established. If this happens,
this world certainly will come to settle.

This talk, understanding only must exist, because
if this understood, the tested proof.
*the tested proof is illness as guidance. No purpose of guidance if people cannot understand the guidance
(kono you no) (ningen hajime) (moto no Kami) *-
(tare mo shiritaru) (mono wa arumai) 3-15
These workings of humans beginning, the Origins’s God,
who knows person, is nonexistent.
(doroumi no naka) (yori shugou) (oshiekake) *-
(sore ga dandan) (sakan naru zo ya) 3-16
From within the muddy ocean, providence I taught.
From that, gradually you became to prosper!
(kontotabi wa) (tasuke ichijo) (oshieru mo) *-

This time, single salvation, I will also teach.

But the settled mind and listening person, there is not.

*settle the mind by understanding the heart and mouth
All of my teaching, all will be explained and informed.

These workings, definite test I have put in place.
This is an error, do not think.

By the eyes, one can not see God’s saying about, and doing about.
What I am going to do, certainly you do not know even a little.

Quickly are seen about the talks that exist. Because
this is a certainty that the proof will occur.
*the proof is guidance that will occur. We need to tell people about what will happen, because unless it is told, that will not known when guidance appears.
(kore o mite) (nani o kiitemo) (tanoshime yo) *-
(ikana hanashi mo) (mina kono douri)
When this is seen, whatever you hear, you will be pleased.
Any of my teachings is all this truth.

A person’s thing if you borrow, you would need interest.
Quickly the repayment, a word of thank is said to occur.
*If God gives you guidance, ponder and quickly return the illness with a word of thanks.

The child’s crying, the mind that thinks is wrong.
The child is not crying. It is God’s persuasion.

Quickly, As God desires to inform you. Because
whatever kind of matter, you must clearly recognize.

My goodness, the mind mistaken for it not to be,
quickly ponder over it. When it is done, it will be good.
(shinjitsu ni) (hito o tasukeru) (kokoro nara) *-
(Kami no kudoki wa) (nanimo nai zo ya) 3-32
For the Original mind, to save people, the mind becomes,
God’s persuasion, there is no need.
(meimei ni) (imasai yokuba) (youki koto to) *-
(omou kokoro wa) (mina chigau de na) 3-33
For each of you, now on the occasion you are greedy, cheerful matter
the mind that thinks, all is mistaken.
(degake kara) (ikana ou michi) (touritemo) *-
(sue no hosomichi) (miete nai kara) 3-34
Because to start out, , what kind of responsibility path one goes through,
*this is a path where one has to take responsibility of any obstacles that appear. Called the ou kuwan michi
the future’s narrow path, because you have not seen.
*cannot see this path unless one’s mind is pure. There will be no danger on this path
*the broad path, or the path of responsibility for unfavorable events
(ningen wa) (azanai mono de) (aru karani) *-
(sue no michisuji) (sarani wakaran) 3-35
Human beings, shallow beings they are, because
the future path furthermore they cannot understand.

The present matters, anything I do not say because
the future’s broad path can be seen.
*this is a path that one takes responsibility for obstacles and illness that appears in one’s life by pondering one’s own mind for dusts

(saki no honmichi) (tanoshunde iyo) 3-37
The present path, whatever path do not grieve.
The future true path take delight.
(shinjitsu ni) (tasuke ichijo no) (kokoro nara) *-
(nani yuwai demo) (shikato uketoru) 3-38
For the Original mind, single salvation’s mind you become,
whatever you say, I shall firmly accept.
*when one has a pure mind, God will accept it and provide blessings
(kuchi saki no) (tsuishou bakari wa) (iran mono) *-
(shin no kokoro ni) (makoto aru nara) 3-39
Lip service of flattery only is not a needed thing.
The Original mind, if the mind truly has.
(dandan to) (nani koto nitemo) (kono you wa) *-
(Kami no karada ya) (shiyan shite miyo) 3-40
Step by step, what things that occurs, these working are on
*these workings are illness upon the body as guidance
God’s body. Ponder and realize it.
*illness as guidance appears on our bodies, but since God possess everything in the world, it makes sense to say that illness is on God’s body
(ningen wa) (minamina Kami no) (kashimono ya) *-
(nanto omoute) (tsukote iru yara) 3-41 7-7
Human bodies are all God’s loan.
What thoughts are you using them?
(kotoshi niwa) (mezurashi koto o) (hajime kake) *-
(imamade shiranu) (koto o suru zo ya) 3-42
From this year, marvelous things, I shall begin.
Until now, unknown things I shall do!
*show God’s blessings of guidance
(imamade wa) (nani yono koto mo) (sekainami) *-
(korekara wakaru) (mune no uchi yori) 3-43
Until now, what kind of occurrences were also worldly common (you thought).
From now on, you will understand what comes from the heart’s interior.
*your fate comes from the heart/soul
(konotabi wa) (tasuke ichijo ni) (kakaru no mo) *-
(waga mi no tameshi) (kakaritaru ue) 3-44
This time single salvation starting it,
a test upon one’s body I will begin upon.
(tasuke demo) (ogami kitou de) (iku de nashi) *-
(ukagai tatete) (iku de nakeredo) 3-45
Concerning salvation, just posturing to worship does not make it effective.
To implore wholeheartedly, it occurs although.
* by having a pure mind, it occurs
(kono tokoro) (yorozu no koto o) (tokikikasu) *-
(Kami ichijou de) (mune no uchi yori) 3-46
At this place, everything of all matters I will teach.
Become settled with God, by what comes from the heart’s interior.
*one’s mind can become pure by understanding what comes from one’s hear. One becomes one with God when this happens
(wakaru you) (mune no uchi yori) (shiyan seyo) *-
(hito tasuketara) (waga mi tasukaru) 3-47
Understand the workings. What the heart’s interior brings forth, one must ponder!
Through saving others, one’s body is saved.
(takayama wa) (sekai ichiretsu) (omou you) *-
(mamani sure domo) (saki wa mien de) 3-48
The high mountains, to the world everyone, thinking of the workings,
to do as they please. But the future they cannot see.
*they cannot understand God’s guidance to help them understand what will happen in the future, if they do not purify their minds
(dandan to) (ouku yosetaru) (kono tachiki) *-
(yoboku ni naru) (mono wa nai zo ya) 3-49
Step by step, many I have gathered. These trees,
timbers to become persons, are nonexistent.
*timbers are people that will eventually participate in the spreading of God’s teachings
(ikana ki mo) (ouku yosete wa)( aru keredo) *-
(igami kagami wa)( kore wa kanawan) 3-50
What kind of tree, many I have collected exist. But
those like a distorted mirror, this will not be accepted.
*distorted mirror does not reflect the true image, as a distorted mind does not see the truth
(sekaijuu) (mune no uchi yori) (Shinbashira) *-
(Kami no sekikomi) (hayaku misetai) 3-51
Throughout the world, the innermost hearts, depending on, the pillar of the Original mind
God hastens to quickly show it.
*when the hearts of the world are pure, God will place the permanent Central Pillar
(sekaijuu) (mune no uchi yori) (kono souiji) *-
(Kami ga houke ya) (shikato mite iyo) 3-52
Throughout the world, what comes from the heart’s interior, this sweeping
*our fates come from the heart
God is the broom. Watch vigilantly.
*God gives us guidance to help us understand what our hearts normally do for us. By this process, we can purify. our minds and also our hearts
(korekara wa) (Kami ga omote i) (arawarete) *-
(yama i kakarite) (souji suru zo ya) 3-53
From now on, God is thinking to be revealed.
In the mountains I will attend and do the sweeping.
*sweep evil from the minds by placing illness as guidance after accepting our sincere prayer
(ichiretsu ni) (Kami ga souji o) (suru naraba) *-
(kokoro isande) (youkizukume ya) 3-54
To everyone, if God sweeps,
the minds will settle. There will be complete joy.
*pure mind brings upon blessings
(nanimo kamo) (Kami ga hikiuke) (suru kara wa) *-
(donna koto demo) (juuyojizai o) 3-55
In all matters, because God assures you,
what kinds of things, free and unlimited blessings (given).
*these are God’s blessings of guidance to help purify the mind
(konotabi wa) (uchi o osameru) (Shinbashira) *-
(hayaku iretai) (mizu o sumashite) 3-56
This time, I will settle within. The Original mind’s Pillar,
quickly I will like to put in, by settling the water.
*the water refers to the mind. God wants to purify the world’s mind. When this happens, the Central Pillar will be placed
(takayama no) (shin no hashira wa) (toujin ya) *-
(kore ga daiichi) (Kami no rippuku) 3-57
The high mountains’s Original mind’s Pillar is that of the town’s people.
*the people in the mountains, their goals are all selfish
This is foremost for the anger of God.
(kami taru wa) (dandan sekai) (mamani suru) *-
(Kami no zannen) (nanto omou zo) 3-58
Those in high places are gradually to the world, doing as they please.
God’s regret, what are you thinking?
(imamade wa) (nani o yuutemo) (miete nai) *-
(mo konotabi wa) (seetsuu ga kita) 3-59
Until now, what was said, was not seen.
*God’s guidance not seen
Now this time, the time has come.
(korekara wa) (Youki-zutome ni) (mata kakaru) *-
(nanno koto yara) (choto ni shiremai) 3-60
From now on, the Joyous Service, look forward to it being effective.
What is it about? Somewhat you may not understand.
*not understand what the Service does

*God’s blessings explained
The day has not come, and has not been seen.
*God’s workings not seen

*will begin to see illness as God’s guidance through performing the Joyous Service, bringing members to our churches

Listen carefully, on the twenty fifth day in the 36 year (1874) at dusk,
the sweeping of the heart, God will accomplish it.

Ponder this, how much clear the water one obtains,
if you put mud (evil thoughts) into it, muddiness it will become.
*water refers to mind
(nigori mizu) (hayaku sumasan) (koto nitewa) *-
(shin no hashira no) (ireyou ga nai) 3-66
The muddy water must be quickly purified. Unless it occurs,
*the dust in the mind, it must be removed
the Original mind’s Pillar’s placements is nonexistent.
(hashira sai) (hayaku iretaru) (koto naraba) *-
(matsudai shikato) (osamari ga tsuku) 3-67
The Pillar, if on the occasion is quickly established,
forever, certainly settlement will occur.
*heaven on earth to occur
(kono you o) (hajimeta Kami no) (shinjitsu o) *-
(toite kikasuru) (uso to omouna) 3-68
These workings to start are by God. The Original mind,
*these prog are God’s guidance
I will explain and let you listen. Do not think it to be false.
(imamade mo) (shingaku kouki) (aru keredo) *-
(moto o shiritaru) (mono wa nai zo ya) 3-69
Even until now, theological spiritedness existed, but
the Origin to understand person, does not exist.
(sono hazu ya) (doroumi naka no) (michisugara) *-
(shiritaru mono wa) (nai hazu no koto) 3-70
So should it be, within the muddy sea, along the path,
the knowing person, does not exist. This to be expected.
(koremade wa) (kono yo hajimete) (nai koto o) *-
(dandan toite) (kikasu koto nari 3-71
Up to now, this world’s beginnings, nonexistent things,
step by step, I will explain and inform about to result in.
(nanimo kamo) (nai koto bakari) (toku keredo) *-
(kore ni machigota) (koto a nai zo ya) 3-72
In whatever matters, only nonexistent things to explain. But
in this, mistaken matter, there is none.
(juu ichi ni) (ku ga nakunarite) (shin wasure) *-
(shougatsu nijuu roku) (nichi o matsu) 3-73
On the eleventh, the nine will have disappeared the Original mind forgotten.
*in chapter 11, tells of Kokan’s (Ku…..) demise
The twenty sixth day of the first month, the day I await.
*Oyasama passes away and the Joyous Service becomes effective on jan. 26, 1887

This interval, the Original mind will have come forth, and greed forgotten.
The performers will assemble, the Service to perform.

Day be day, God’s mind’s hastening for
free and unlimited workings, quickly to be shown.
*illness as guidance to be shown
(korekara wa) (ninjuu soroute) Tsutome suru *-
(kore de tashikani) (nihon osamaru) 3-76
From now on, the members will assemble and perform the Service.
This will certainly settle Nihon.
(shinjitsu ni) (tasuke ichijo de) (aru karani) *-
(nanimo kowami wa) (sarani nai zo ya) 3-77
For the Original mind, because single salvation exist,
anything to fear, furthermore there is none.
(nanimo kamo) (tasuke ichijo) (tomeru nara) *-
(Kami no zannen) (mi ni sawari tsuku) 3-78
In whatever matter, single salvation, if one stops it,
God’s regret, harm to one’s body will appear.
(shiyan seyo) (yorozu tasuke no) (kono moyou) *-
(ningen waza to) (sarani omouna) 3-79 7-7
Ponder over it. World salvation, this preparation,
human workings, furthermore, do not think.
(imamade wa) (nanika yorozu ga) (wakaraide) *-
(mina ningen no) (kokoro bakari de) 3-80
Until now, anything all was not understood.
All human’s mind only.
*one needs pure mind to understand
(korekara wa) (Kami no kokoro to) (kami taru no) *-
(kokoro to) (hikiyawase suru) 3-81 5-7
From now on, God’s mind and high position’s
mind , I will compare.
(kono hanashi) (chotto no koto ya to) (omouna yo) *-
(Kami ga shinjitsu) (mikanetaru yue) 3-82
This talk, insignificant matter, do not think.
God, the Original mind, cannot be passed unnoticed, says.
*the Original mind is most important for salvation
(korekara wa) (Kami no chikara to) (kami taru no) *-
(chikara kurabe to) (omoe yo) 3-83
From now on, God’s strength and those of high place’s
strength, compare them. Think about it!
(ika hodono) (gouteki araba) (dashite miyo) *-
(Kami no hou nimo) (bai no chikara o) 3-84
What extent one is great, go out to look.
God’s side has twice the strength.
(shinjitsu no) (Kami ga omote i) (deru kara wa) *-
(ikana moyou) (mo suru to omoe yo) 3-85
Of the Original mind, because God is thinking to go out,
any preparation to do. Think about it.
(imamade wa) (kara ga nihon o) (mamani shita) *-
(Kami no zannen) (nanto shiyo yara) 3-86
Until now, kara to Nihon, as one likes to do.
God’s regret, what will be given.
(konosaki wa) (nihon ga kara o) (mamani suru) *-
(mina ichiretsu wa) (shouchi shite iyo) 3-87
Hereafter, nihon to kara, as one likes to do.
*nihon wants to save kara
All everyone ponder over it.
(onaji ki no) (ne to eda to no) (koto naraba) *-
(eda wa orekuru) (ne wa sakai deru) 3-88
The same tree’s roots and branches, concerning about,
*the root reflects the mental state of the individual, while the branches reflect the physical appearance and what happens to the individual
the branches will break, and the roots will continue to grow.
*suffering may occur due to karma, but if we ponder our minds, we can continue to purify our minds. With this process our hearts become pure, where only joy comes from it
(imamade wa) (kara wa erai to) (yuu taredo) *-
(korekara saki wa) (oreru bakari ya) 3-89
Until now, kara are great, that was said. But
after this, in the future they will only be broken.
*as with the analogy given, when the roots or the mental state is poor, the physical qualities will also be affected. God tries to teach us this by giving us guidance on our bodies
(nihon miyo) (chiisai you ni) (omotaredo) *-
(ne ga arawareba) (osore iru zo ya) 3-90
Look at Nihon. Small like the working, you are thinking.
But when the roots appear, overwhelmed to be!
*when we attain the Original pure mind, our physical bodies will also become healthy
*when the roots appear, the tree will grow big including the branches.
(kono chikara) (ningen waza to) (omowaren) *-
(Kami no chikara ya) (kore wa kanawan) 3-91
This strength, human performance, do not think.
God’s strength, this cannot be matched.
(kono you wa) (nigiwashi kurashi) (iru keredo) *-
(moto o shiritaru) (mono wa nai node) 3-92
These workings to make prosperous livelihoods exist, but
the origin (of these working) knowing person does not exist.
(kono moto o) (kuwashiku shirita) (koto naraba) *-
(yamai no okoru) (koto a nai no ni) 3-93
The Origin, if known in detail about,
*the cause of joy or sorrow if known
illness’s occurrence, this matter will be nonexistent.
(nanimo kamo) (shirazu ni kurasu) (kono kodomo) *-
(Kami no mee niwa) (ijirashiki koto) 3-94
In what may be, living without knowing, these children
to God’s eyes, are pitiful things.
(nani nitemo) (yamai to yuute) (sarani nashi) *-
(kokoro chigai no) (michi ga aru kara) 3-95
What like, illness that is said, furthermore is unacceptable,
because, the mistaken mind’s path exist.
*mistaken mind is infected with the dust or evil thoughts
(kono michi wa) (oshii hoshii to) (kawaii to) *-
(yoku to kouman) ( kore ga hokori ya) 3-96
These path are disappointment, desire, self love,
greed, and arrogance. These are the dusts.
(kono you no) (ningen wa) (mina Kami no ko ya) *-
(Kami no yuu koto) (shikato kikiwake) 3-97
These workings of humans, are all God’s doing.
What God says, clearly recognize.
(hokori sai) (sukiyaka harota) (koto naraba) *-
(ato wa mezurashi) (tasuke suru zo ya) 3-98
If the dusts on occasions are completely swept,
*one need to purify the mind for God’s blessings
afterwards, marvelous salvation I will do.
(shinjitsu no) (kokoro shidai no) (kono tasuke) *-
(yamazu shinazu ni) (yowari naki you) 3-99
The Original mind, the mind is dependent on. This salvation,
to fall ill, to die, and to weaken will not exist, are the benefits.
(kono tasuke) (hyaku juu go sai) (joumyou to) *-
(sadame tsuketai) (Kami no ichijo) 3-100
This salvation, 115 years-old predestined length of life,
to settle and fix is God’s desire.
(nichinichi ni) (Kami no kokoro no) (sekikomi o) *-
(soba naru mono wa) (nanto omoteru) 3-101
Day by day, God’s mind hastening to.
Those people who will be close (to me), what are you thinking?
(kami taru o) (kowai to omote) (izumi iru) *-
