OFUDESAKI/ CHAPTER 17 /   1882 TENRIKYO

(Imamade wa) (nanno michi yara) (shirenanda)

(Kyokara saki wa) (michi ga wakaru de) 17-1

Until now, what kind of path, you did not know.

From now, the future, the path you will understand.

(Kono michi wa) (doyu koto ni) (omou kana)

(Kanrodai no) (ichijo no koto) 17-2

This path, how are you thinking?

Kanrodai, solely it is about.

(Kono dai o) (doyu koto ni) (omote iru)

(Kore wa nihon no) (ichi no takara ya) 17-3

This Stand, what are your thoughts?

This is Nihon’s (people that are open minded and understand the soul) place to gather (to perform the Joyous Service).

(Kore oba na) (nanto omote) (mina no mono)

(Kono moto naru o) (tare mo shiromai) 17-4

This God, wonders what are your thoughts all of you.

This Origin becoming no one knows.

(Konotabi wa) (kono moto naru o) (shinjitsu ni)

(Dozo sekai e) (mina oshietai) 17-5

At this time, this Origin beginnings, truly

by all means, to the world, I would like to all teach.

(Kono moto wa) (Izanagii to) (Izanami no)

(Minouchi yori no) (hon mannaka ya) 17-6

This Origin is Izanagii’s and Izanami’s

within their bodies, exactly the middle.

(Sono toko de) (sekaiju no) (ningen wa)

(Mina sono Jiba de) (hajime kaketa de) 17-7

There at that place,the world’s humans.

all, at that Ojiba, I started to begin.

(Sono Jiba wa) (sekai ichiretsu) (dokomade mo)

(Kore wa nihon no) (kokyo naru zo ya )17-8

That Jiba, the world everyone, wherever they are

This is Nihon’s divine record to become

(Ningen o) (hajime kaketaru) (shoko ni)

(Kanrodai o suete) (oku zo ya) 17-9

Humans started to begin, the Proof,

The Central Pillar installed,  I will place.

(Kono dai ga) (mina soroi sai) (shita naraba)

(Donna koto oga) (kanawan de nashi) 17-10

This stand if everyone (the instruments at creation)  gathers together, if this is done,

Whatever matter, there will be nothing that cannot be realized.

(Soremade ni) (sekaiju o) (dokomade mo)

(Mune no soji o) (seneba naran de) 17-11

Until then, the world, wherever,

the sweeping of the hearts, must be done.

(Kono soji) (doko ni hedate wa) (nai hodoni)

(Tsukihi miwakete) (iru to omoe yo) 17-12

This sweeping, where I discriminate, there is not.

(Kokoro shidai ni) (mina uketoru de) 17-13

To God, wherever place the person may exist,

depending on the mind, all will be accepted.

(Imamade wa) (donna kokoro de) (itaru tomo)

(Ichiya no ma nimo) (kokoro irekae) 17-14

Until now, whatever mind you may have,

just one night of time, replace your mind.

(Shinjitsu ni) (kokoro sukiyaka) (irekaeba)

(Sore mo Tsukihi ga) (suguni uketoru) 17-15

Truly, the mind quickly replaced,

additional more, God will immediately accept (your prayer).

Tsukihi niwa sekaiju wa mina waga ko

Kawai ippai kore ga ichijo 17-16

To God, all of you in the world are my children.

Love for you fills me. This is most important.

(Imamade wa) (donna mono demo) (mune no uchi)

(Shiritaru mono wa) (sarani arumai) 17-17

Until now, what kind of person, the innermost heart

knowing person, there does not exist.

(Konotabi wa) (donna tokoro ni) (iru mono mo)

(Mune no uchi oba) (mina yute kikasu) 17-18

This time, what kind of place, a person may be,

the innermost heart, God, will inform them of all (about heart).

(Koremade wa) (kabe hito yo nite) (hedate tara)

(Nani o yutemo) (choto mo shiromai) 17-19

Until now, it was like a single wall to set apart (now and future),

Whatever was said,  you would not know even a little.

(Kyokara wa) (yokome furu ma mo) (nai hodoni)

(Yume mita yoni) (nani o suru yara) 17-20

From today, there will be no time even to look aside.

Like a dream, There is no knowing what I will do.

(Imamade no) (Tsukihi zanen to) (yu mono wa)

(Nakanaka chotto no) (koto de nai zo ya) 17-21

Until now, God’s regret that is said

By no means, is it a small matter.

(Kyomade wa) (nanimo shirazu ni) (ita keredo)

(Sa miete kita) (erai honmichi) 17-22

Until today, though you have known nothing,

now it begins to be seen, the great true path.

(Kono michi o) (hayaku mitote) (sekikonda)

(Sa korekara wa) (yokizukume ya) 17-23

This path, quickly I will like to see. I have hastened it.

From now on, complete joy.

(Kono hanashi) (doyu koto ni) (omou kana)

(Fude no saki gana) (miete kita nara) 17-24

This talk, how are you thinking?

The Ofudesaki’s  future happenings are seen.

(Imamade wa) (dono yona koto mo) (kiite ita)

(Konotabi koso wa) (zanen harasu de) 17-25

Until now, whatever kind of things, I have listened to.

This time indeed, I shall clear my regret away.

(Kono harashi) (doyu koto ni)( omou kana)

(Nandoki doko de) (shirizoku yara na) 17-26

This clearing, what are you thinking?

What time, where I would withdraw (respond).

(Koremade no) (nagai dochu) (kono zanen)

(Chotto no koto dewa) (nai to omoe yo) 17-27

Until now the long journey, this regret

a small matter, do not think.

(Korekara wa) (kono kayashi oba) (suru hodoni)

(Mina ichiretsu wa) (shochi shite iyo) 17-28

From now on, this clearing, God will do.

All everyone, ponder over it.

(Sekaiju) (doko no mono towa) (yuwan de na)

(Tsukihi shikkari) (mina mite iru de) 17-29

The world, where the person is, I do not say.

God clearly sees all.

(Dono yona) (koto o yutemo) (omotemo)

(Tsukihi shiran to) (yu koto wa nai) 17-30

Whatever you may say or think,

God does not know, there is not.

(Konosaki wa) (dono yona koto o)(suru nimo na)

(Tsukihi saki e to) (kotowarite oku) 17-31

Hereafter, whatever I shall do (illness as guidance to understand the heart/soul),

God previously will give notices (niogake given).

(Korekara wa) (Tsukihi zannen) (deta naraba)

(Dono yona koto ga) (aru ya shiren de) 17-32

From now on, God’s regret appears.

What kind of matters that is, you do not know.

(Kyonohi wa) (dono yona koto mo) (tsunde kita)

(Kami no zannen) (harasu mite iyo )17-33

Today, whatever things have piled up.

God’s regret, I will release. Watch it.

(Imamade wa) (kono yo hajimeta) (ningen no)

(Moto naru jiba wa) (tare mo shiran de) 17-34

Until now, this world’s beginning human’s

Origin becoming Ojiba, no one knows

(Konotabi wa) (kono shinjitsu o)( sekaiju e)

(Dozo shikkari) (oshietai kara) 17-35

This time, this truth to the world

by all means, firmly I will like to teach..

(Soreyue ni) (Kanrodai o) (hajimeta wa)

(Honmoto naru no) (tokoro naru no ya) 17-36

Therefore, the Central Pillar I began is

the true Origin becoming’s place to become.

(Konna koto) (hajime kakeru to) (yu no mo na)

(Sekaiju o) (tasuketai kara) 17-37

This matter, to begin to start that is said

the world, I would like to save.

(Sore oba na) (nanimo shirazaru) (kodomo ni na)

(Toriharawareta) (kono zanen wa na) 17-38

God’s regret, is a great matter.

(Torinukete wa) (kitaru naredomo) 17-43

Until now, what kind of path, step by step

you went through, has appeared although (karma appearing)

(Mo chitto no) (kokugen kitaran) (soreyue ni)

(Jitto shite ita) (koto de aredomo) 17-44

A little while, the appointed time has not come, therefore

standing still I have been.

(Kyonohi wa) (mo jubun ni) (tsunde kita)

(Kokugen kitara) (suguni kayasu de) 17-45

Today, much has piled up (God’s regret)

When the appointed time comes, immediately I will give returns

(Kono hi wa na) (itsu no koto ya to) (omote iru)

(Niju roku nichi ga) (kitaru koto nara) 17-46

This day, when is it, you are thinking.

26 day comes.  (Oyasama passes away)

(Sorekara wa) (nandemo kademo) (shinjitsu no)

(Kokoro sorezore) (mina arawasu) de 17-47

Thereafter, whatever matter, the truth

of the mind, respectively, all will be revealed.

(Konna koto) (nande yu ya to) (omouna yo)

(Kawai amarite) (yu koto ya de na) 17-48

This matter, why do I say it, do not think.

Deep love for you, it is said.

(Tsukihi niwa) (sekaiju no) (kodomo wa na)

(Kawai bakari o) (omote iru kara) 17-49

To God, the world’s children

loving only, I am thinking .

Therefore, the world, wherever,

the sweeping of the heart, I say I desire.

(Tasuke bakari o) (omote iru kara) 17-51

This sweeping, what are your thoughts.

To save only I am thinking.

(Tasuke demo) (ashiki naosuru) (made ya nai)

(Mezurashi tasuke) (omote iru kara) 17-52

The salvation, illness to cure, not only

marvelous salvation, I am thinking.

(Kono tasuke) (doyu koto ni) (omou kana)

(Yamazu shinazu ni) (yowari naki yoni) 17-53

This salvation, what matters are you thinking.

No illness, no death, free from weakening.

(Konna koto) (imamade doko ni) (nai koto ya)

(Kono shoko o) (shirashitasa ya de) 17-54

These things until now, where there was none,

This Proof, I want to show.

(Koremade wa) (doko tazunetemo) (nai koto ya)

(Konotabi Kami ga) (hajimetasa ya de) 17-55

Until now, wherever you visit, it does not exist.

The Kanrodai is the location of the regret (God at location, so this is where are prayers directed to).

(Kono zanen) (chotto no koto dewa) (nai hodoni)

(Donna kayashi o) (Tsukihi suru yara)  17-59

This regret, small matter it is not.

What kind of return God will do.

(Dono yona) (koto ga aritemo) (uramina yo)

(Mina meme ni) (shite oita no ya) 17-60

Whatever may happen, bear no grudge.

all, you have done yourself. It is put in place (karma).

(Konosaki wa) (sekaiju wa) (dokomade mo)

(Takayama nitemo) (tanisoko made mo) 17-61

This time, the world, wherever

the high mountains, or the low valley…

(Korekara wa) (sekai ichiretsu) (dandan to)

(Mune no soji o) (suru to omoe yo) 17-62

From now on, in the world, everyone step by step

the sweeping of the heart, I am thinking to do (By illiness as guidance to let one understand the soul).

(Kono soji) (nanto omouzo) (mina no mono)

(Kami no kokoro o) (tare mo shiromai) 17-63

This sweeping, What are you all thinking all of you?

God’s mind, no one knows .

(Tsukihi niwa) (donna zanen ga) (aru totemo)

(Imamade jitto) (miyurushite ita) 17-64

To God, whatever regret I have

Until now, I have be motionless, looking out.

(Sa kyo wa) (hi mo jubun ni) (tsunde  kita)

(Nandemo kayashi) (sezu ni iraren) 17-65

Today, the day  much has piled up (regret)

In any case, returns without  them  I cannot.

(Kono kayashi) (nanino koto ya to) ( omote iru)

(Kami no zannen) (bakari naru zo ya) 17-66

This return, what are you thinking.

God’s regret, only what will become.

(Kono zanen) (chotto no koto wa) (omouna yo)

(Tsumori kasanari) (yue no koto ya de) 17-67

This regret, it is not a small matter, do not think.

Piled up (God’s regret), it is said.

(Tsukihi niwa) (sekaiju wa) (mina waga ko)

(Kawai ippai) (omote iredomo) 17-68

To God, the world (the people) are all my children.

That they do not know. All everyone, to each

dust only they are pondering.

(Domu nantomo) (yu ni yuwaren) 17-70

This mind, God’s mind think and come.

Indeed, nothing said cannot be said.

(Korekara saki wa) (satori bakari ya) 17-71

Until now, worldly matter, I will not say.

From now on, the future understand it only.

(Konosaki wa) (nani o yu yara) (shiren de na)

(Dozo shikkari) (shiyan shite kure) 17-72 

From now on, what I say, you do not know

Please firmly ponder and come.

Sato Sato Taoto Taoto Byosama Byosama 17-73

Sato, Sato, Ta-oto, Ta-oto, Byo-sama, Byo-sama….

(Kono hanashi) (aizu tateyai) (deta naraba)

(Nani ni tsuitemo) (mina kono tori) 17-74

This talk, if the  signal (guidance) comes forth.

whatever occurs, everything is by this Service.

(Kore oba na) (ichiretsu kokoro) (shiyan tanomu de)  17-75

This God, everyone’s mind, request you to ponder..

TENRIKYO

Summary:

The world does not know the original mind (pure mind of God). We do not know the innermost heart or soul.  God will make one realize the innermost heart by placing guidance now.

The appointed time had not come yet, so God has been on the sidelines.

The path is building a place of worship (field),  hinokishin (spreading the truth/planting the seeds), weeding (guidance from God to purify mind), water (pure mind) and fertilizer (Joyous Service) . This brings new members to our churches.

God will begin to work on January 26, 1887 (Oyasama passes away).

The Joyous Service (Sign) brings upon God’s blessings (tateyai)

When all mankind is purified, their will be paradise on earth.
