CHAPTER 16

 1882

 

(imamade wa) (kono yo hajimeta) (ningen no)
(moto naru koto o) (tare mo shiromai)                        1

Until now, this world’s beginning human’s

Origin creation matter, whoever does not know.

(konotabi wa) (kono moto naru o) (shikkari to)
(douzo sekai e) (mina oshietai)                                      2

This time, this Origin creation firmly,

by all means to the world, all I would like to teach.

(kono moto wa) (kagura ryounin) (tsutome wa na)
(kore ga shinjitsu) (kono yo hajimari)                         3

This Origin is the Kagura. Both people, the Service perform.

* Izanami and Izagami are the first parents of human beings

These are the pure minds that started this world.

*refers to the first parents that started human beings, to include Oyasama

(konotabi no) (Kagura to yuu wa) (ningen o)
(hajime kaketaru) (Oya de aru zo ya)                          4

This time’s Kagura that is said. Humans to

begin to start, the Parents exist.

*Oyasama was physically present at that time, and her soul exist there today

now today, how much God had said about obtaining (the pure mind ).

Everyone’s mind, understanding does not exist.

*words do not completely convince people

(soreyue ni) (mou seetsuu ga) (kitaru kara)
(zehi naku ima wa) (kayashi suru zo ya)                    8

certainty does not exist. Now I will give returns.

*there is no certainty of what will occur in the future because of our actions on our evil thoughts. God will begin to place illness as guidance, to help people understand what the soul naturally does for us, to help us purify our own minds

These returns, small matters do not think.

*God’s guidance are returns

Kunitokotachi and the venerable Omotari.

*these two represent deities that started human beings. Some refer to the two names to represent the male and female part of God?

These personages, within the muddy waters observed

a fish and serpent, and drew them near.

(kore o harasuru) (moyou nai kayo)                            14

This time, the regret to say is from God.

Until now, what kind of matters I have been overlooking.

I have been restrained. This existed, but

(donna koto demo) (suguni kayasu de)                        18

today, now the day is pressing. Because it exist,

what kind of matter, I will immediately give returns.

*place illness as guidance or regret

(kono tokoro) (tomeru kokoro de) (kuru naraba)
(sono mama doko i) (Tsukihi deru yara)                     19

This place, stopping mind if one comes.

*stopping the performance of the Service, to stop God’s workings

That condition, where God will appear?

*to appear to give illness as guidance, anger or regret

(deru no mo na) (donna koto yara) (shiromai na)
(Tsukihi mukai ni) (deru de shouchi se)                       20

Appearing, what matter is this, you do not know.

God to go toward and appear, ponder it.

*to place illness as guidance or regret

(kyounohi wa) (mou juubun ni) (tsunde aru)
(dono yona) (michi ga aru ya) (shiren de)                  21

*there are many paths of suffering that one does not know. Also there are paths of joy, which God wants to teach us.

Throughout the world, all everyone be firm.

When God will go out to accompany.

*when will God to begin placing illness as guidance or regret

(kyounohi wa) (mezurashi koto o) (yuikakeru)
(nani o yuu tomo) (tare mo shiromai)                         23

Today, marvelous things I will tell you.

Whatever is said, whoever does not know.

(sekai niwa) (mina dokomade mo) (onaji koto)
(kodomo katatsuke) (koshirae o suru)                         24

In the world, all everywhere, the conditions are the same.

The children to mold, you prepare to do.

(ika hodoni) (koshirae shita to) (yuuta tote)
(sonosaki naru wa) (tare mo shiromai)                      25

How much one prepares to do, that is said to obtain (to mold).

After that, what occurs, whoever does not know.

*no one knows the future when one is on the path of the mistaken mind

(Tsukihi niwa) (donna omowaku) (aru yara na)
(kono michisuji wa) (shirita mono nashi)                   26

To God, what kind of intentions exist?

This path, there is no one who knows.

*path to save people

(konosaki wa) (dono yona yume o) (miru yara na)
(monku kawarite) (kokoro isamu de)                          27

This time, whatever kind of dream you may see.

The situation will change, the mind will become spirited.

*when the mind is pure, it becomes spirited

(kore o aizu ni) (tsutome ni kakare)                             28

What kind of marvelous dream, you may see.

This for the sign, begin the Service.

* the sign is guidance from God, which will come with the performance of the Service

Today, what kind of things you will hear.

When the situation will change, it will be about.

(dono youna) (koto ga aritemo) (uramina yo)
(mina meimei ni) (suru koto ya de na)                         30

What kind of occurrences may happen, do not bear a grudge.

*occurrence is God’s guidance or negative fate from one’s own soul

All to each, you have done.

*God is guiding you by telling you that the occurrence is the result of your action in the past. This is what our souls show us in our daily lives. We reap what we have sowed.

(Tsukihi niwa) (mina ichiretsu wa) (waga ko nari)
(kawai ippai) (omote iredomo)                                      31

To God, all everyone are my children to attain (the pure mind).

Full of love thinking to be, but

(meimei ni) (suru koto bakari) (zehi wa nai)
(sokode jikkuri) (mite iru no ya de)                               32

to each, you have done only, certainty is nonexistent.

*what fate or karma that one has created, appears uncertain

There (God) deliberately, looking on.

*God only on the sidelines watching the wrong doings, and our soul (mune). Our fates come from our souls (mune)

(kyounohi wa) (nanimo shirazu ni) (iru keredo)
(asunichi o miyo) (erai ou kuwan)                                33

Today, knowing nothing, you are existing. But

look at tomorrow, a great broad (path).

*ou kuwan may translate to taking responsibility for adverse events to purify the mind

(kono michi ga) (mietaru naraba) (dono youna)
(mono demo kanau) (mono wa arumai)                     34

This path, if it is seen, what kind

of person, an opposing person will not exist.

(Tsukihi niwa) (donna omowaku) (aru yara na)
(kono kokoro oba) (tare mo shiromai)                         35

To God, what kind of intentions may exist.

This mind of God, whoever also does not know.

*This mind of God is the pure mind

*if the pure mind is seen when we pray

what kind of things all will be taught.

*people must be told of the pure mind, the soul and God’s guidance, before God begins to work

(minouchi sawari) (kore de shirasuru)                        40

Disorders within the body, by this I will inform you.

*inform about the evil thoughts in one’s mind, that one may act on, which causes demerits which the heart/soul collects, stores, and eventually releases as fates or sufferings

Until now, God’s persuasions, step by step

various explanations have arrived. But

(ika hodoni) (kudoita totemo) (tare nitemo)
(kikiwake ga nai) (Oya no zannen)                              49

how much I warn you. Although whoever it is,

to listen does not exist. The regret of the God.

(kokomade mo) (yoi na kudoki ya) (nai hodoni)
(konotabi koso wa) (shiyan suru you)                         50

(sekai ichiretsu) (mune no souji ya)                             57

* God placing illness as guidance to purify one’s mind, so only joy comes from one’s soul

(donna koto oba) (suru ya shiren de)                           69

What kind of things God will do, you do not know.

(mamani shite ita) (koto de aredomo)                         70

(konosaki wa) (Kami ga shihai o) (suru kara wa)

Hereafter, as God will give guidance to you.

Whatever matter, do as you please you cannot.

Through human’s eyes, nothing can be seen. But

through God’s eyes, all can be seen.

*God sees our fates in our hearts

(koshirae o) (yaru no wa shibashi) (machite kure)
(doromizu naka i) (hameru gotoku ya)                       73

The makings to give away, for a brief time, wait to do.

*the guidance given do not ignore it

Inside the muddy water, throwing it in, it is like.

Today, sufficient (regret) has piled up.

*God’s regret due to evil actions of humans

What time, to accompany one to go out, is not known.

*God to place illness on the people we have spread God’s truths to when our prayer with a pure mind is accepted

(ooku mieru ga) (tare mo shiromai)                            77

*many people to save are seen, but there is no one who knows

*to obtain power and wealth
