なぜ私たちの宗教は会員数が増えないのか。これがその理由である：
1. 純粋なkokoro (mind) を得るための魂を理解していない。
2. ひのきしんを理解していない
3. 祈りである Youki-tsutome」がわからない。
4. 病人におさづけをするタイミングがわからない。
それぞれについて説明しよう：
魂とは、神が世に理解してほしいと望んでいるものだ。私たちの行動を監視しているのは、私たち自身の魂である。私たちの肉体の中にいる間に、私たちの行動から得た短所と長所を集め、それを蓄積し、やがて適切な機会が訪れたときに、私たちの運命として私たちに返してくれる。適切な機会が訪れるのは、来世になってからかもしれない。肉体の機能が停止したとき、肉体を離れて天に昇るのは、私たちの運命とそれにまつわる思いを集めた魂である。やがて地上に戻り、過去の宿命とそれにまつわる思いを胸に、人生を続けるのもこの魂である。死は私たちに再出発や白紙委任を与えるものではない。多くの人が思っているように、赤ちゃんに罪はない。 だからこそ、苦しみや喜びが現れるのだ。私たちは自分の魂のために蒔いた種を刈り取る。 このことを世界は理解しなければならない。
ひのきしんという言葉がわからない。おふでさきにはないが、みかぐらうたにはある。 ひのきしんとは、つまり神への 貢献である。 ひのきしんとは、神の理である魂の理を他の人々に広めることです。 これは世界を救うために最も重要なことです。自分のkokoro (mind)を清めるために、魂を理解しなければならないことを伝えなければなりません。kokoro (mind) が清らかであれば、魂からは喜びしか生まれない。 ひのきしんは、公園掃除でも、教会掃除でも、災害支援でもない。
私たちは、日々の You-ki-tsutome の祈りを理解していない。 魂（ひのきしん）の理（ことわり）を広（ひろ）げてこそ、You-ki-tsutome も効力を発揮するのである。 私たちは、魂の真理を広めたことを人々（き）に納得してもらうよう、神様にお願いしているのです。 神はどのようにして魂の人々を納得させるのでしょうか？ 神はこれらの人々（き）に導き（you）を置き、彼ら自身の魂が何をするのかを理解させるのです。 これが、このおつとめが You-ki-tsutome と呼ばれる所以である。 Yoki-tsutome (Joyous Service)ではありません。
神が導きのために病を置かれた人々が、病を癒すために私たちの礼拝所にやってくるのである。おたすけが病気を治すのに効果的なのはこの時です。ほとんどの天理教人は、この目的のためにおさづけを使っていません。どんな病気でも治せると思っているのです。
世界を救うための教えは、おふでさきに説かれている。残念なことに、私たちの宗教も他の宗教と同じように、主要なメッセージが人間の心の習慣、儀式、儀礼に乗っ取られてしまっています。私たちはおふでさきの神の真理に立ち戻らなければなりません。そして、神様は私たちに「陽気づとめ」と「おさづけ」を授けることによって、私たちが他の人たちを納得させるのを助けてくださるのです。
Why our religion is not growing in membership. These are the reasons:
1. We do not understand the soul to obtain the pure mind
2. We do not understand hinokishin
3. We do not understand our prayer, You-ki-tsutome
4. We do not understand when to perform the Osazuke on sick people
Let me explain each of these subjects:
The soul is what God wants the world to understand. It is our own souls that monitor our behaviors. While in our bodies, it collects our demerits and merits from our actions, stores them, and eventually releases them as our fates back to us when the right opportunity arises. The right opportunity may not appear until our next lives. When our physical bodies stop functioning, it is the soul with the collection of our fates and their associated thoughts that leave our body and ascends to heaven. It is this same soul that eventually returns to earth to continue our lives, returning with our past fates and their associated thoughts. Death does not give us a fresh start or a clean slate. A baby is not innocent, like many people think. This is why suffering or joy appears. We reap what we have sowed because of our soul. This is what the world must understand.
The word hinokishin is not understood. The word is not in the Ofudesaki, but is in the Mikagura-uta. The word hinokishin is hito no kishin, or a person’s contribution to God. Hinokishin is the spreading of God’s truth of the soul to other people. This is most important to save the world. We must tell people that they must understand the soul to purify their own minds. When the mind is pure, only joy will come from the soul. Hinokishin is not cleaning parks, cleaning churches, or disaster relief.
We do not understand our daily prayer of the Youki-tsutome. It is only after the spreading the truth of the soul, or hinokishin that the Youki-tsutome becomes effective. We are asking God to convince the people (ki) that we have spread the truth of the soul. How does God convince these people of the soul? God places guidance (you) on these people (ki) to help them understand what their own soul does. This is why this service is called the You-ki-tsutome. It is not the Yoki-tsutome, or the Joyous Service.
It is these people that God places illness as guidance that come to our places of worship to be healed of their illness. This is when the Osazuke is effective in healing illness. Most Tenrikyo people are not using it for this purpose. They think that they can cure any illness.
The teachings to save the world are explained in the Ofudesaki. Unfortunately our religion like other religions, the main message has been taken over by customs, rituals, and ceremonies of the human mind. We must return to God’s truths in the Ofudesaki. We must understand our own soul, and God will help us convince others by granting us the Youki-tsutome and the Osazuke.
