In our religion, the Ofudesaki is said to be from God. The rest of the scripture in Tenrikyo may or may not be from God. ln the Ofudesaki, there are many examples of people not understanding the teachings. Even Oyasama’s children, Kokan and Shuji had difficulties understanding the teachings. Just because people, especially church leaders expound to know God’s teachings, they may not understand the teachings like Shuji and Kokan. In the Ofudesaki, God clearly gives us instruction how to save ourselves and others. The following is a quick summary:
- first understand the soul that exist within our bodies. It monitors our behavior, and eventually metes out justice back to us for our behavior. Like the Christians say, we reap what we have souled. It is not God that punishes or rewards us for our action, it is our own soul.
- When our physical body stops, the soul leaves our bodies and ascends to heaven. It take with it the unmanifested fates and their associated thoughts. Of course our memories are erased from our previous life. The soul after a respite in heaven, descends back to earth to be reincarnated with the unmanifested fates and their associated thoughts. We do not get a fresh start in life, as we carry the baggage from our previous lives. This is why suffering or joy appears in our lives.
- God in the Ofudesaki tells us how to remove our negative fates from our souls. By removing the negative thoughts associated with the fate or fates, we can lessen the suffering or eliminate the fate completely. How do we do this? We must eliminate the negative thoughts in our minds that are associated with the fates. God tells us these thoughts are regret, covetousness, self-love, greed, and arrogance. These are the thoughts that lead to our negative emotions that we are likely to act upon, resulting in our negative fates. God tells us if we remove these negative thoughts from our minds, only joy and health will appear from our own souls. When our minds are pure, we are saved! This is the message God wants us to spread to the world. Again we must spread the truth of the soul and pure mind to the world.
- God tells us after our minds are pure, to spread the truth of the soul and pure mind to others to be saved. Because it is difficult to convince people of new concepts like the soul, God has granted us a special tool. This is the Youki-tsutome. This is a prayer asking God to help people sweep their negative thoughts. How does God help people to do this? God places illness as guidance to help people understand their own soul. God looks as their mind, and places illness dependent on the type and amount of negative thoughts in their mind. This is done, because it is these thoughts that they will act upon, resulting in their negative fate. You can say that God by placing illness, is showing people their future if they do not remove their negative thoughts. Some will say, especially the current church leaders that the Service is to help them purify their own minds. But God already teaches us how to purify our mind by understanding what appears from our own soul. The Service is to help others. This is how we spread the teachings to the world. The religion, the teachings are not spreading because we do not know God’s main message, and we do not know what our own prayer does. If you do not believe me, read the Ofudesaki, as it was written, verse by verse, and word by word.
In summary:
- Understand your own soul to purify your own mind
- Spread the teachings of the soul, pure mind, and God’s guidance to others
- Perform the Youki-tsutome to bring new members to our places of worship. God places illness on their bodies to convince them of the soul.
- Perform the Osazuke to heal illness, and continue to inform of the soul, to purify the mind.
This is how we spread the teachings to the world. This will result in peace on earth, with health and happiness.
私たちの宗教において、『おふでさき』は神様からのものとされています。天理教の他の経典は神様からのものかもしれないし、そうでないかもしれません。『おふでさき』には、教えを理解できない人々の例が数多くあります。おやさまの子供たち（Kokan and Shuji）でさえ、教えを理解するのに苦労しました。人々が、特に教会の指導者が神の教えを知っていると説くからといって、修治や（Kokan）のように教えを理解していない場合もあるのです。
まず、私たちの体内に存在する魂を理解しよう。それは私たちの行動を監視し、最終的に私たちの行いに対して正義を下す。キリスト教徒が言うように、私たちは魂が蒔いたものを刈り取るのだ。私たちの行動に対して罰を与えたり報いを与えたりする存在は神ではなく、私たち自身の魂なのである。
肉体が停止すると、魂は身体を離れ天界へ昇る。未顕現の運命とその関連する思考を伴って。当然、前世の記憶は消去される。魂は天界で休息した後、未顕現の運命とその関連する思考と共に転生するため地上へ降り立つ。私たちは前世からの荷物を背負っているため、人生で新たなスタートを切ることはできません。これが、苦しみが喜びが現れる理由なのです。
おふでさきにおいて神様は、私たちの魂から負の運命を取り除く方法を教えておられます。運命に関連する負の思考を取り除くことで、苦しみを軽減したり、運命そのものを完全に消し去ることができるのです。では、どうすればよいのでしょうか？ 運命に関連するkokoro (mind) の中の負の思考を断ち切らねばなりません。神様は、これらの思考とは後悔、貪欲、自己愛、強欲、傲慢であると教えておられます。これらは、私たちの負の感情を生み出し、行動へと駆り立て、結果として負の運命をもたらす思考です。神は、これらの負の思考をkokoro (mind) から取り除けば、魂から喜びと健康のみが現れると教えています。kokoro (mind) が清らかであれば、私たちは救われるのです！これが神が世界に広めてほしいと願うメッセージです。繰り返しますが、私たちは魂と清らかなkokoro (mind) の真理を世界に広めなければなりません。
神は私たちのkokoro (mind)が清らかになった後、魂と清らかなkokoro (mind)の真理を他者に広め救われるよう命じられます。魂のような新たな概念を人々に納得させるのは難しいため、神は特別な道具を授けてくださいました。それが「妖気つとめ」です。これは人々の負の思考を掃き清めるよう神に祈る儀式です。神はどのように人々を助けるのでしょうか？神は病を導きとして与え、人々が自らの魂を理解する手助けをなさいます。神は人のkokoro (mind) を見渡し、その心に宿る悪しき思いの種類と量に応じて病を授ける。なぜなら、そうした思いこそが行動へと結びつき、悪しき運命を招くからである。神が病を授けるのは、悪しき思いを除かなければ迎える未来を人々に示していると言える。特に現代の教会指導者たちは「奉仕は自らのkokoro (mind) を浄化するため」と主張する者もいる。しかし神は既に、自らの魂から現れるものを理解することでkokoro (mind) を清める方法を教えておられる。奉仕は他者を助けるためである。これこそが教えを世界に広める方法だ。宗教や教えが広まらないのは、神の主たるメッセージを知らず、自らの祈りが何をもたらすか理解していないからだ。もし信じられないなら、『おふでさき』を一節一節、一語一語、書かれた通りに読んでみよ。
