魂を理解できなければ、陽気づとめもおさづけも十分な働きを成しません。なぜでしょうか。これから説明します。
これら二つのつとめはいずれも、魂の真理を世界に広めるためのものだからです。
まず、魂とは何か、そして魂は何をしているのでしょうか。
魂があるからこそ、私たちは永遠に生き続けます。肉体が死ぬと、魂は身体を離れて天に昇り、やがて再び地上に戻って新たな人生を始めます。これが輪廻転生です。
また、私たちが肉体を持って生きている間、魂は私たちの行いを見守り、やがて正しきをもたらします。私たちが蒔いた種を刈り取るのは、魂の働きによるものです。これが因果、すなわち「いんねん」です。
神はまた、kokoro（mind）から否定的な思いが取り除かれ、澄みきったとき、魂からは喜びと健康だけが現れると教えておられます。そのとき、私たちは救われるのです。これらの真理こそ、神が世界に広めることを望まれている教えです。
では、神はどのようにして、これらの真理を世界に広める助けを与えてくださっているのでしょうか。
神は、そのために二つの特別な祈りをお与えくださいました。一つが陽気づとめです。陽気づとめでは、人々のkokoro（mind）にある否定的な思いを払い清めてくださいと神に願います。
では、神はどのようにしてそれを行われるのでしょうか。
神は、kokoro（mind）にある否定的な思いの量や種類に応じて、病という形で手引きをお与えになります。人はやがて、その否定的な思いに基づいて行動し、それによって悪い運命を作り出します。その運命を魂が受け取り、蓄え、そして適切な機会が訪れたときに、苦しみとして現れるのです。多くの場合、その機会は次の生にまで持ち越されることもあります。
人々が神の手引きを理解すると、病を治してもらうために私たちのもとを訪れるようになります。そこで行われるのが、おさづけです。おさづけは、病を癒してくださいと神に願う特別な祈りです。人々は癒され、さらに魂についての教えを受けることで、kokoro（mind）を澄ませるよう導かれます。
『おふでさき』第一歌において、多くの天理教の人々は、「むね」を神の御心、あるいは神のご意向と解釈し、神が「人間は神の御心を理解していない」とおっしゃっているのだと考えています。確かに、私たちは神のご意向を完全には理解していません。しかし、この「むね」をそのように解釈するのは誤りです。
むねとは、私たち自身の魂です。私たちは、自分自身の魂を理解していないのです。
『おふでさき』において、神は「むねの内より思案せよ」と教えておられます。魂から生じるものとは、私たち自身が作り上げてきた運命なのです。
第一歌を正しく理解しなければ、神のご意向を理解することはできません。
神のご意向とは、世界中の人々のkokoro（mind）を澄ませることです。
そしてそれは、私たちが自分自身の魂を理解したときに、はじめて可能になるのです。はい、多くの人は神のご意向を理解していないだけでなく、魂についても理解していません。

How does God help us spread these truths to the world? God has granted us two special prayers to do this. One is the Youki-tsutome. We are asking God to sweep the negative thoughts of people. How does God do this?  God places illness as guidance depending on the amount and kind of negative thoughts in the mind. It is these thoughts that people will eventually act upon resulting in the creation of negative fate that the soul collects, stores, and eventually manifest back to us as suffering when the right opportunity arises. Many times the right opportunity may not arise until the next lifetime.  When people understand God’s guidance initiated by the Youki-tsutome, they will then come to our places to heal their illness. This is where the Osazuke is performed on them. This is a special prayer asking God to heal their illness. They are healed and given further instructions to convince them of the soul, so they can purify their minds.

I know that in the first verse of the Ofudesaki, the majority of Tenrikyo believe that mune is translated as God’s mind or intention, believing that God is telling us we do not understand God’s mind or intention. Yes this may be true. We do not understand God’s intention. But this interpretation of mune is incorrect. The mune is our soul. We do not understand our own soul. In the Ofudesaki God tells us to ponder what comes from the mune. It is our fates, that we have created that come from the soul. Without understand the first verse correctly, we will not be able to understand God’s intention. It is the purify the minds of the world. This only happen when we understand our own soul. Yes most people do not understand God’s intention, but also they do not understand the soul which is most important.
