Today I would like to talk about the word “Shirizoku” which appears in the Ofudesaki. What is shirizoku? The word is translated as to withdraw. God tells us God will withdraw fire and water. What does this mean? God’s withdraw of fire and water means that God will place illness on their bodies. What is the purpose of placing illness on the body?
Could the placing of illness be good? God knows how difficult it is to convince people of the soul and the pure mind. God places illness to convince people of the soul, and what it does. God by the illness given is showing people their future if they do not remove their negative thoughts. Shirizoku represents God’s blessings to help people purify their minds.
God also places illness when people go against the teachings. So can shirizoku , or the withdraw of fire and water also represent God’s anger of people going against God’s teachings?
Most of the Ofudesaki is about God helping us save people, or God placing illness as guidance to help people understand their own soul. I believe that to convince people of the soul and what it does in our lives, God has given us two special services. The first is the Youki-tsutome that initiates God’ s guidance to the people we have spread the teachings. God withdraws fire and water to these people to convince them of the soul. If they understand God’s guidance thay come to our places of worship to heal their illness. God has given us the Osazuke to save these people of their illness, which also gives us the opportunity to further teach them to purify their minds. When the mind is pure, one is saved. Only health and joy will come from the soul.
In summary shirizoku or the withdraw of fire and water is God’s placement of illness on the bodies to help convince them of their own soul, and what it does. Again most of the Ofudesaki is about God’s guidance to help people understand the soul, to purify their minds.
