About the Youki-tsutome

Today, I would like to once again reflect on our important Service, the Youki-tsutome. In particular, I would like to speak about the opening words of this prayer.

(Ashiki o harau) (tasuke tamae)

“Evil thoughts to sweep away, save them please.”

Within this single phrase is contained the essence of God’s teachings.

When negative thoughts are swept away from a person’s kokoro (mind), that person is saved. From one’s own soul, only health and joy will appear.

So what, then, are we asking God to do through this Service?

We are asking God to sweep away the negative thoughts of the people to whom we have conveyed the teachings, and to save them.

The soul watches our actions. According to our thoughts and actions, it brings forth either joy or suffering. If there are no negative thoughts in the kokoro (mind), a person acts based on positive thoughts. When that happens, what appears from the soul is only joy and health.

How Does God Provide Guidance?

When God accepts our Youki-tsutome, He gives illness as guidance to those who have been taught about the soul and the pure kokoro (mind).

That illness appears according to the amount and type of negative thoughts within their kokoro (mind).

Negative thoughts become actions. Those actions accumulate in the soul as causality (fate), and eventually appear as suffering. Through illness, God is showing them: “If you do not remove these negative thoughts, this will be your future.”

What Is Required Before Performing the Youki-tsutome?

However, this prayer has important conditions.

First, we ourselves must correctly understand the teachings of the soul and possess a pure kokoro (mind).

Second, we must share these teachings with others.

When these two conditions are accepted by God, He teaches that if we perform the Youki-tsutome, there will not be even one failure in a thousand in the guidance that appears.

The Path to Saving Others

1. Understand what kind of causality arises from your own soul, and purify your kokoro (mind). When suffering appears, do not act on negative thoughts.
2. Share the teachings of the soul and spread the path of purifying the kokoro (mind).
3. Perform the Youki-tsutome, asking God to sweep away the negative thoughts of those you have taught and to save them.
4. God then gives illness as guidance.

What happens when those people understand God’s guidance? I will speak about that next time.

Conclusion

The Youki-tsutome is a special prayer that initiates God’s guidance so that people may understand their own soul and purify their kokoro (mind).

However, there is one thing I would like to say.

Some church leaders believe this prayer is asking God to save ourselves. But this is a prayer to save others.

Is it not possible that one reason our teachings are not spreading throughout the world is because we do not fully understand the true meaning of this prayer?

Next time, I will speak about another Service that further convinces people of the soul and leads them to purify their kokoro (mind).

【ようきづとめについて】

本日は、私たちの大切なおつとめである「ようきづとめ（陽気づとめ）」について、改めて考えさせていただきたいと思います。特に、その最初の祈りの言葉についてお話しいたします。

（あしきをはらう）（たすけたまえ）

「悪い思いを払い、彼らをたすけたまえ。」

この一節には、神様の教えの本質が込められています。

人のkokoro（mind）から悪い思いが払い清められるとき、その人はたすかります。そして、自らの魂からは、健やかさと喜びだけが現れるのです。

では、このおつとめを通して、私たちは神様に何をお願いしているのでしょうか。

それは、教えをお伝えした人々の悪い思いを払い、その方々をお救いくださるようお願いしているのです。

魂は、私たちの行いを見つめています。そして、私たちの思いと行いに応じて、喜びにも苦しみにも導きます。もしkokoro（mind）に悪い思いがなければ、人は良い思いに基づいて行動します。そのとき魂から現れるのは、喜びと健康だけです。

神様はどのように導かれるのか

神様は、私たちのようきづとめをお受け取りになると、魂や清らかなkokoro（mind）について伝えられた方々に、導きとして病をお与えになります。

その病は、その人のkokoro（mind）にある悪い思いの量や種類に応じて現れます。

悪い思いは行動となり、その行動は因縁として魂に積み重なり、やがて苦しみとなって現れます。神様は病を通して、「このまま悪い思いを取り除かなければ、将来このようになりますよ」と、その人の未来をお見せになっているのです。

ようきづとめの前に必要なこと

しかし、この祈りには大切な条件があります。

第一に、私たち自身が魂の教えを正しく理解し、清らかなkokoro（mind）を持つこと。

第二に、その教えを他の人々に伝えること。

この二つが神様に受け入れられたとき、ようきづとめをつとめれば、現れる導きには「千に一つの失敗もない」とお示しくださっています。

人をたすける道すじ

一、自らの魂からどのような因縁が生まれるのかを理解し、自分のkokoro（mind）を清めること。苦しみが現れたとき、悪い思いに基づいて行動しないことが実践です。

二、魂の教えを伝え、kokoro（mind）を清める道を広めること。

三、教えを伝えた方々の悪い思いを払い、救ってくださるよう願い、ようきづとめをつとめること。

四、神様が導きとして病をお与えになること。

では、その方々が神様の導きを理解されたとき、何が起こるのでしょうか。それは次回、お話しさせていただきます。

まとめ

ようきづとめは、人々が自らの魂を理解し、kokoro（mind）を清めるための神様の導きを始める特別な祈りです。

しかし、ここで一つ申し上げたいことがあります。

教会の指導者の中には、この祈りを「自分自身をたすけていただく祈り」だと考えている方もおられます。しかし、これは他の人をたすける祈りなのです。

私たちがこの祈りの本当の意味を理解していないことが、教えが世界に広がらない理由の一つではないでしょうか。
