Why are we dancing in front of God, telling God what God already knows. I am talking about the Yorozuyo and 12 dances that are performed at the monthly Service. This Service is not a prayer to God, unlike the Youki-tsutome and Osazuke. These dances are an excellent summary of the Ofudesaki, that Oyasama (Miki Nakayama) made, and serves to remind people of God’s truth. I believe Oyasama instructed the early followers to perform the Service to help them understand the teachings. But is this Service necessary now , and instead of helping people understand and implement the teachings in their daily lives, it is now hindering the spreading of the teachings to the world. How can foreigners be expected to perform this difficult Service in Japanese?
私が言っているのは、毎月の月次祭でつとめられる「よろづよ」と十二下りの踊りのことです。
このおつとめは、ようきづとめやおさづけとは違い、神様への祈りではありません。これらの踊りは、教祖・中山みき（おやさま）が著された『おふでさき』の優れた要約であり、人々に神様の真理を思い出させる役割を果たしています。私は、おやさまが初期の信者たちに教えを理解させるためにこのおつとめをつとめるよう教えられたのだと信じています。
しかし、このおつとめは今でも必要なのでしょうか。人々が日々の生活の中で教えを理解し実践する助けとなるどころか、かえって世界に教えを広める妨げになっているのではないでしょうか。外国人に、この難しい日本語のおつとめを行うことをどうして期待できるのでしょうか。
『おふでさき』の中には、「よろづよ」や十二下りの踊りについての記述はありません。手踊りや神楽づとめについては言及があります。私は、手踊りとはようきづとめのことであり、教会指導者が言う「よろづよ」や十二下り（みかぐらうた）を指すのではないと考えています。
では、私たちはどのようなおつとめを行うのでしょうか。神様は、神様のお導きを始めるためにようきづとめをお与えになり、人々が自らの魂を理解する助けとして与えられた神様のお導きを癒すためにおさづけをお与えになりました。これらのおつとめこそが、教えを世界に広める助けとなるのです。 世界に教えを広めましょう。
