Understanding the Ofudesaki, the most sacred scripture  is vital.  I translated the Ofudesaki into English. So how did I do this with my limited knowledge of Japanese?

I translated each Japanese word written in hiragana directly into English using dictionaries and the internet. I believe this to be the most accurate English translation.

Surprisingly, what the church leaders have been telling us about the Ofudesaki did not match my translation. If you do not believe me, I challenge any Japanese person to look up the meaning of each Japanese word written in hiragana in every verse of the Ofudesaki and see if you can  understand it as written.

I would also ask those who speak English to translate each hiragana word into English and try to understand the meaning of the verse.

If you do this, you will find that the most important teachings are not being followed by most church leaders. For example, we do not understand the soul. We do not understand the purpose of our prayer, the Youki-tsutome. I believe these are some factors  why our religion is not spreading throughout the world, resulting in a delay in the realization of the Joyous Life.

Let me say this again: the instructions for saving oneself and the instructions for saving the world are written in the Ofudesaki. We already have the recipe—we simply need to look at each word, and understand it as it is written in the Ofudesaki.

私はある講義に出席しました。その講師は、「おふでさきは本当に素晴らしい。なぜなら、各節には多くの解釈の仕方があるからだ」と言いました。

しかし、私はその意見には敬意を払いながらも、賛成することができません。なぜなら、おふでさきの言葉は神様からの言葉だからです。

それぞれの節には、神様が私たちに理解してほしいと望まれている意味があります。私たちは自分たちの考え方で解釈するべきではなく、書かれているとおりに一つ一つの言葉を調べ、その意味を理解するべきだと思います。

残念ながら、多くの重要な節について、教会の指導者たちは自分たちの考え方で解釈してきました。

おふでさきという最も神聖な教えを理解することは、とても重要です。私はおふでさきを英語に翻訳しました。では、日本語の知識が限られている私が、どのようにしてそれを行ったのでしょうか。

私は、おふでさきにひらがなで書かれている日本語の一つ一つの言葉を、辞書やインターネットを使って直接英語に翻訳しました。私はこれが最も正確な英語翻訳であると信じています。

驚いたことに、教会の指導者たちがこれまで私たちに教えてきたおふでさきの内容は、私の翻訳と一致しませんでした。もし信じられないのであれば、日本人の方々にお願いしたいことがあります。おふでさきのすべての節に書かれているひらがなの言葉を一つ一つ辞書で調べ、その意味を見て、書かれているとおりに理解できるかどうかを確かめてみてください。

また、英語を話す人々にも、ひらがなの一語一語を英語に翻訳し、その節の意味を理解してみてほしいと思います。

もしこれを行えば、最も重要な教えが多くの教会指導者によって守られていないことに気づくでしょう。例えば、私たちは魂について十分に理解していません。また、祈りである「ようきづとめ」の目的についても理解していません。

これらが、私たちの宗教が世界中に広がらず、陽気ぐらしの実現が遅れている理由の一部ではないかと私は考えています。

もう一度言わせてください。自分自身を救うための教え、そして世界を救うための教えは、すでにおふでさきに書かれています。私たちはすでにその“レシピ”を持っているのです。必要なのは、一つ一つの言葉を見て、おふでさきに書かれているとおりに理解することだけです。
