I have been telling people about the Ofudesaki for about ten years now. This is the most sacred scripture in the Tenrikyo religion, yet people do not understand the instruction in the Ofudesaki. Let me summarize the Ofudesaki

1. Understand your own soul. God tells us in the Ofudesaki that we do not understand the soul (mune)

2. Because of the soul we live for eternity. While in our bodies it monitors our behavior, and eventually metes out justice for our actions. Because of the soul we reap what we have sowed. If we understand the soul we can understand why joy or suffering occurs.

3. God tells us when the mind is pure of negative thoughts one is saved. Only joy and health will appear from our own soul. These thoughts to eliminate are regret (oshii), covetousness (hoshii), self-love (kawaii), greed (yoku), and arrogance (kouman).

4. The information of the soul is what God wants us to share with others.

5. God knows how people are stubborn to accept the truth of the soul, so has granted us the Youki-tsutome, a prayer to help people understand and be convinced of the soul.

6. With the acceptance of this prayer, God places illness of guidance to convince people of the soul. By these illness God is showing people the negative thoughts in their minds. It is these negative thoughts that they will act upon resulting in the fates that the soul collects, stores and eventually manifest back to them. God is showing them their future if they do not remove their negative thoughts.

7. These people who understand God’s guidance will come to our places of worship asking God to heal their illness. God has given us the Osazuke to heal God’s illness. At this time further information on the soul is given. Just  to note the Osazuke does not cure existing illness. It only cures illness given by God as guidance.

8, This is how we spread the teachings of the soul to the world. When the world understand their own soul, people will be hesitant to act on their evil thoughts. When the minds of the world are pure, only peace and prosperity will occur in the world.

私はこれまで約十年間、人々に**Ofudesaki（おふでさき）について話してきました。これはTenrikyo（天理教）**において最も神聖な聖典ですが、多くの人はおふでさきに書かれている教えを理解していません。ここで、おふでさきの内容を簡単にまとめてみます。

1. 自分自身の魂を理解すること。神はおふでさきの中で、人間は魂（むね）を理解していないと教えています。

2. 魂があるからこそ、私たちは永遠に生き続けます。身体を持って生きている間、魂は私たちの行いを見守り、やがてその行いに応じた正しい報いを与えます。魂があるからこそ、人は自分の蒔いた種を刈り取るのです。魂を理解すれば、なぜ喜びや苦しみが起こるのかを理解することができます。

3. 神は、心から否定的な思いがなくなり清らかになれば、人は救われると教えています。そのとき魂から現れるのは、喜びと健康だけです。取り除くべき思いは、惜しい（おしい）、欲しい（ほしい）、かわいい（自己愛）、欲（よく）、高慢（こうまん）です。

4. 魂についてのこの教えこそが、神が私たちに他の人々へ伝えてほしいと望んでいるものです。

5. 神は、人々が魂の真理を受け入れるのに頑固であることをよくご存じです。そのため、人々が魂を理解し納得する助けとなる祈りとして、**Youki-tsutome（陽気づとめ）**を授けてくださいました。

6. この祈りを受け入れると、神は人々に魂を悟らせるために「導きの病」を与えることがあります。これらの病によって、神は人々のkokoro (mind)の中にある否定的な思いを示されます。人はその否定的な思いによって行動し、その結果として運命が生まれます。そして魂はそれらを集め、蓄え、やがて再び人に現れます。神は、否定的な思いを取り除かなければ将来どうなるかを示しているのです。

7. 神の導きを理解した人々は、神に病を癒していただくために礼拝の場所を訪れるようになります。神はそのために**Osazuke（おさづけ）**を授けてくださいました。そのとき、魂についてさらに詳しい教えが伝えられます。ただし、おさづけはすべての病気を治すものではありません。神が導きとして与えた病だけを癒すものです。

8. このようにして、私たちは魂の教えを世界へ広めていきます。世界の人々が自分自身の魂を理解するようになれば、人々は悪い思いに従って行動することをためらうようになります。そして世界の人々のkokoro (mind) が清らかになれば、この世には平和と繁栄だけが現れるでしょう。
