Chapter 1 1:1-4

(yorozuyo no) (sekai ichiretsu) (miharasedo)
(mune no wakarita) (mono wa nai kara)                       1

All generations of the world, everyone I am looking at. Because the soul’s understanding person is nonexistent.

* the word mune can also be translated as the soul (tamashii or tamahii)

(sono hazu ya) (toite kikashita) (koto wa nai)
(nanimo shiran ga) (muri de nai zo ya)                         2

That is expected. Explained and informed about I have not. Anything not knowing, unreasonable it is not.

(konotabi wa) (Kami ga omote i) (arawarete)
(nanika isai o) (toite kikasuru)                                          3

At this time, God comes out and is revealed.

* through Oyasama

Every detail will inform and explain.

(kono tokoro) (Yamato no jiba no) (kamigata to)
(yuute iredomo) (moto wa shiromai)                              4

This place, Yamato’s locality’s Kansai region

*Kansai region includes Nara

that is said to be. But the Origin is not known.

*the origin is important in that it explains the pure mind (shinjitsu) that was given from heaven to the first couple that started human beings.

(kono moto o) (kuwashiku kiita) (koto naraba)
(ikana mono demo) (mina koishi naru)                          5

This Origin to listen in detail. If this occurs,

whoever you are, all to yearn for, resulting in.

(kiki takuba) (tazune kuru nara) (yute kikaso)
(yorozu isai no) (moto no innen)                                      6

If you wish to listen, and if you come to inquire, I shall tell

all the details of the Origin’s causality.

*how human beings were created

(Kami ga dete) (nanika isai o) (toku naraba)
(sekai ichiretsu) (kokoro isamuru)                                  7

God is revealed, and if anything in detail is explained.

*the teachings of the pure mind and the heart/soul explained

Everyone in the world, their minds will be spirited.

(ichiretsu ni) (hayaku tasuke o) (isogu kara)
(sekai no kokoro) (isame kakarite)                                  8

To everyone, quickly to save to hasten.

The world’s mind I will make spirited.

*spirited is the pure mind

(dandan to) (kokoro isande) (kuru naraba)
(sekai yononaka) (tokoro hanjou)                                     9

Little by little, with the mind spirited if they come.

The world through generations, the places there will be prosperity.

*because when the mind is pure only joy will come from our souls

(konosaki wa) (kagura-zutome no) (te o tsukete)
(minna soroute) (tsutome matsu nari)                             10

The time yet to come, the Kagura Service’s hands to start (to perform).

Everyone assembled, the Service awaiting, to result in.

(mina sorote) (hayaku tsutome o) (suru naraba)
(soba ga isameba) (Kami mo isamuru)                           11

All assembled, quickly the Service to perform. If it occurs,

*refers to Youki-tsutome

those nearby will become spirited. God will also be spirited.

*our prayer, youki-tsutome (Timber Service), ask God to save others to purify their minds

(ichiretsu ni) (Kami no kokoro ga) (izumu nara)
(mono no ryuuke ga) (mina izumu nari)                        12

To everyone, God’s mind if it is depressed,

the person’s harvest (of new members) all will become depressed.

(ryuukei no) (izumu kokoro wa) (kinodoku ya)
(izuman you to) (hayaku isame yo)                                   15

The harvest’s depressed mind is pitiful.

*depressed mind is a mind with negative thoughts

For the workings (of new members) not to be depressed, quickly become spirited.

*need to purify one’s own mind before praying

(ryuukei ga) (isami deru yo to) (omou nara)
(kagura-zutome ya) (teodori o seyo)                                 14

The harvest (of new members) for it to appear spirited, if you think,

the Kagura Service as soon as, and the hand dance (of the youki-zutome) perform it.

(konotabi wa) (hayaku teodori) (hajime kake)
(kore ga aizu no) (fushigi naru zo ya)                              15

At this time, quickly the hand dance (of the youki-zutome) begin to start.

This, a sign of miracles to occur.

*By performing the Youki-tsutome, the sign of guidance will appear

(kono aizu) (fushigi to yuute) (miete nai)
(sono hi kitareba) (tashika wakaru zo)                             16

This sign, miracles that are said, it has not been seen.

*illness as guidance is the sign

When this day arrives, one will certainly understand.

* God’s guidance to begin on Jan 26, 1887

(sono hi kite) (nanika wakari ga) (tsuita nara)
(ikana mono demo) (mina ga kanshin)                              17

When that day comes, any understanding if reached,

what kind of person all will be concerned.

(miete kara) (toite kakaru wa) (sekainami)
(mien saki kara) (toite oku zo ya)                                      18

After they appear, to explain to start is the way of the world.

Before they appear, I explain in advance.

*God will warn people before giving guidance. This is why God wants us to spread the teachings

(konasaki wa) (kami taru kokoro) (dandan to)
(kokoro shizumete) (waboku naru you)                            19

Hereafter, those in high places, their minds, step by step

*hereafter or not yet seen

the mind calmed. Harmony resulting in the workings.

*God’s guidance or workings will lead to the mind becoming pure

(kono waboku) (mutsukashi you ni) (aru keredo)

(dandan Kami ga) (shugou suru nari)                              20

This harmony is difficult. By the workings it exist because

*workings are God’s guidance

step by step God will provide protection, resulting in.

(kono you wa) (rii de semetaru) (sekai nari)
(nanika yorozu o) (uta no ri de seme)                               21

These workings, by reasoning I will attack. The world to occur,

* these illness that appear, God explains in the Ofudesaki how to remove them. It is based on reasoning. God wants us to understand our own soul (mune) to purify our minds. God warns us by the writings in the Ofudesaki, before guidance is done

anything all by the poetry’s reasoning I will attack.

(semeru tote) (tezashi suru dewa) (nai hodoni)
(kuchi demo yuwan) (fudesaki no seme)                        22

To attack, even by hand to do, I will not. Because

even by mouth, I will not say. I will attack with the Ofudesaki.

* God telling us by the verses in the Ofudesaki how to lessen the illness that appears

(nanimo kamo) (chigawan koto wa) (yokeredomo)
(chigai aru nara) (uta de shirasuru)                                 23

In everything, to be wrong about is to be avoided.

But if you are wrong, by poetry I shall inform you.

(shirashitara) (araware deru wa) (kinodoku ya)
(ikana yamai mo) (kokoro kara tote)                                24

When my notifications become manifested (as God’s guidance), it is unfortunate.

*God warns before guidance given

Any illness, also is from the mind to receive.

(yamai tote) (sekainami dewa) (nai hodoni)
(Kami no rippuku) (imazo arawasu)                              25

Illness to obtain to be ordinary it is not. Because God’s

anger now is being revealed.

*God’s anger and regret is revealed as guidance that is manifested in illness

imamade mo) (Kami no yuu koto) (kikan kara)
(zehi naku omote) (arawashita nari)                               26

Also, up to now, what God has said about. Because you have not listened,

certainty is nonexistent. I am thinking to reveal (illness), resulting in.

* the future is not certain. illness as guidance to purify one’s mind is what God is thinking

(kora hodono) (Kami no zannen) (deteru kara)
(isha mo kusuri mo) (kore wa kanawan)                        27

Devoting to the extent, because God’s regret is appearing.

Physicians also, and medicine also, these will not be realized, (to have affect).

(kore bakari) (hitonami ya towa) (omouna yo)
(nandemo kore wa) (uta de semekiru)                              28

*God trying to guide Shuji

(kono ashi wa) (yamai to yuute) (iru keredo)
