Ofudesaki vs Medicine

With the current pandemic of the Corona virus, people are wondering what God’s intentions are.  What is God trying to convey to us with this pandemic?  Did God create this pandemic?  God throughout the Ofudesaki tells us that God has been on the sidelines, watching human beings.  God also throughout the Ofudesaki, tells us that illness should be nonexistent.  God tells us that illness comes from the mind. If we remove our evil thoughts, illness will not occur. This is why God tells us that illness should be nonexistent.  This was the condition at the Origin of human beings. God created human beings, placing the pure Original mind (shinjitsu) in the original parents of human beings.  Since then, Human beings have accumulated dusts or evil thoughts in their minds, creating illnesses that we have today. If this is true, the solution should be easy. We just need to remove our evil thoughts of regret, covetousness, self-love, greed, and arrogance.

Most of the world people today will depend on Medicine, science and doctors to cure illness.  Even many of the people in the Tenrikyo religion may believe this.  They quote verse 9-10 and 9-11 of the Ofudesaki. The Tenrikyo church headquarters translation is:

Though there should be nothing called illness in human beings,

no one knows the beginning of the world.

Because of My desire to have you know this,

I began doctors and medicine for weeding and fertilizing.

This is telling us that God created doctors and medicine, which may be true, but the more accurate translation is:

In human beings, illness to say, is nonexistent, but

Since the beginning of this world, there is no person who knows.

This matter, to let you know, step by step

I will weed and fertilize like doctors and medicine.

Weeding and fertilizing are two words that are used to convey the sweeping of evil thoughts in people.  Weeding (shuuri) refers to sweeping evil thoughts in the people who know God’s teachings, while fertilizing (koe) refers to other people we ask God to help sweep evil thoughts. Both actions result in the purification of the mind to the Original mind, which will result in the elimination of illness, like what doctors and medicine are thought to do.

This is the original hiragana verse in Japanese:

Ningen ni yamai to yuute nai keredo

Kono yo hajimari shirita mono nashi   9-10

Kono koto o shirashitai kara dandan to

Shuuri ya koe ni isha kusuri o   9-11

Please compare the two English translations, and decide for yourself what is more accurate; but more important, what makes more sense.

The one million dollar question is, should we depend more on doctors, science, and medicine to heal our bodies, or should we depend more on what God is telling us in the Ofudesaki, that illness comes from the mind?

OFUDESAKI 8-87

Interpretation:
The proof or the Original mind (pure mind of God) is the location of the Kanrodai. This location is where God created the first parents, and placed the Original mind in each of them. This is the location where God also descended from heaven to. The location is where we direct our prayers toward.

OFUDESAKI 8-86

Interpretation:
When the permanent Kanrodai is erected, there will be nothing to fear in the world. This is the ‘Joyous life”, a world where everyone will be spirited.

8-85

Interpretation:
There is no other site in the world that can be considered the Origin of human beings. The Original mind (shinjtsu) of God was placed in the parents of human beings (Izanagi & Izanami). This mind is what God wants us to return to.

OFUDESAKI 8-84

interpretation:
Now that the location of the Kanrodai had been located. God tells the early followers to begin the Joyous Service. The Kanrodai is the location we direct our prayer toward, since God had descended from heaven to this location. When God accepts our prayer, God will help save the world, helping people become spirited. TO BE SPIRITED, IS ALL WE WANT!

OFUDESAKI 8-83

Interpretation:
This translation is different than the Church Headquarter’s English translation. The sweeping of the residence with brooms are inferred in the Headquarter translation. But from the previous verses, the sweeping of the mind is more accurate. The end result for both, is the location of the Kanrodai, or the location of the original creation.

OFUDESAKI 8-82

Interpretation:
God is telling the early followers how to find the location of the Kanrodai (Central Pillar). They need to sweep their minds of the evil thoughts (dusts), before they can find the exact location.

OFUDESAKI 8-81

Interpretation:
By these disorders or illnesses, God is showing us our future now. We can change our future, by sweeping our minds of evil thoughts, or dusts. It is these dusts that we are prone to act upon , especially when inconveniences or temptations occur in our lives. This is why God’s guidances are called blessings. God is only trying to help us sweep our evils away.

OFUDESAKI 8-80

Interpretation:
The jikimotsu is suppose to flow from heaven upon the vessel placed on top of the Kanrodai.

OFUDESAKI 8-79

Interpretation:
The word jikimotsu is transalated as food from heaven. It has also been called the heavenly dew. The jikimotsu is suppose to flow from heaven to a receptacle placed on top of the permanent Kanrodai, when everyone in the world is settled (pure mind or shinjitsu). The Jikimotsu will be given to Oyasama. It will be up to Oyasama, what she wants to do with it. I am not sure what this means. If anyone has any knowledge about what happens to the jikimotsu. Is it some type of elixir? Is it just a type of symbolism of the Joyous life to occur?
