When negative fate comes from your soul, ponder your own mind, instead of blaming God or others for the suffering. Calm the mind of negative emotions, and not act upon them. This is how one purifies the mind. When the mind is pure, only joy will appear from your own soul. When the mind is pure, you are saved.

Which translation is correct of Song 1

The first song is a good summary of the Ofudesaki. These are the steps it mentions:

  1. purify the mind (sanzai kokoro). 1-3
  2. spread God’s teachings (truth to spread). 1-5
  3. perform the Youki-tsutome 1-2 & 1-3
  4. Guidance given by God. 1-6
  5. receive a harvest of new members to save. 1-8
  6. people will come to be saved by the osazuke. 1-9
  7. their mind to be settled by understanding God’s truths. 1-10

Song 1

shougatsu koe no sazuke wa

yare mezurashii. 1-1

New Years, the fertilizer’s (Youki-tsutome) grant is,

how marvelous.

nikkori sazuke morotara

yare tanomoshi ya 1-2

Smilingly the grant (Youki-tsutome) if received, how promising.

sanzai kokoro o sadame  1-3

Wandering, the mind settle it (purify the mind).

yononaka   1-4

The world,

ri o fuku  1-5

the truth to spread.

mushou ni dekemawasu  1-6

 For blessings (God’s guidance), will continue to do.

nanikani tsukuri toru nara  1-7

Anything you prepare, to reap if so.

Yamato wa honen ya  1-8

Yamato, a rich harvest (of new members).

koko made tsuite koi   1-9

To this place, bring them here.

torime ga sadamarita  1-10

The harvest to be settled.
