Is it only a dream?

On one of my previous blogs, one reader commented that I should wake up from my dreams, insinuating that I should live in the real world. But what if our dreams are messages from God. In the Tip of the Writing Brush are the following verses:

The mind of God hastens day by day,

but I cannot tell of it in words, even should I so desire. 14-6

That is why I put the fragrance even into your dreams.

Quickly ponder over it please. 14-7

Whatever you may dream, it is all by God.

The reality seen, also is by God. 12-163

In the classic story of the Scrooge, the main character dreams of his past, present, and future. Realizing his fate, the Scrooge changes his behavior, and becomes a good man. Greed, arrogance, and self love is eliminated from his mind. It is presumed that by his change in behavior, he also changes his future fate.

Suppose God does communicate with us while we are asleep by our dreams. But does he also communicate to us while we are awake? In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

As God desires to inform you quickly,

you must understand whatever occurs. 3-30

In summary, whether it be while you are asleep or awake, God may be trying to make your future better.  Ponder what ever occurs, and sweep greed, arrogance, and self love from your heart.

Summary of the Tip of the Writing Brush

We believe in the most sacred book, the Tip of the Writing Brush (Ofudesaki), which contains God’s truth. This is the foundation of our faith. We believe in the law of “Cause and Effect”.  Good thoughts and actions result in joy, and evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions result in future sufferings. We  are foretold that God will help the world see this relationship. By our special prayer, we ask God to quickly show this relationship to the world, so that mankind would begin to sweep evil from the heart.

With the acceptance of our prayers, God will begin to shorten the time lapse between the cause and effect, making the relationship easier to understand. When this happens, the world will begin to ponder and sweep greed, arrogance, and self love from the minds. This will create a joyous world, with everyone helping each other.

Are you arrogant?

Does knowledge make us arrogant? I just attended a workshop for students applying to a professional school presented by a University. The presenters were established professors, administrators, and current students. These people had the difficult task of determining out of thousands of applicant each year, which would become accepted into this prestigious school.  In my opinion many of these presenters came across as arrogant. They did not say that their occupation was superior to others, but their comments and answers led one to believe that they were special and deserved recognition. But in their defense, each year they determine the future of each applicant based on a limited amount of information. People that have such important jobs that determine the future of others have to walk a fine line in not becoming arrogant.

The same questions can be asked about religious people. Are religious people arrogant because they feel they know God’s teachings? What do the religious think about people that go against their teaching? Do they treat them differently?

I think when we sometime begin to think we are superior because of more knowledge, we should ask ourselves would religious leaders like Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi, and Oyasama think that they were more superior because of their vast worldly knowledge.  The answer is a definite no. Each would say that no one is more superior in the eyes of God.

Many attain knowledge that enhance their lives, others attain knowledge but gain no joy, some have no knowledge, but live happy lives; and others acquire no knowledge and live unhappy lives. In conclusion, having knowledge may be a blessing, but boasting of having knowledge may be an evil. Have no arrogance!

What is more important?

Laws and policies are very important for society. Without them, there will be disorganization and chaos. But with any organization structure, freedom and personal liberty may be hindered. Sometimes these laws and policies conflict with our religious beliefs. Some because of their arrogance will always enforce these rules or policies without exceptions. Others will implement these policies because it is the rule. But there are a few who would consider their conscious and religious beliefs in waiving or carrying out these laws or policies. This is what I believe God desires. It is to help others while navigating through the policies and laws of society.

In summary, to follow the rules of society are important, but to follow the teachings of God is paramount!

Are We Going in the Right Direction?

How does God show us that we are going in the right direction? Does he give us some sort of sign? Yesterday, when the Pope was selected, Florida residents thought they saw an image of an angel in the clouds.  Was this God’s work?

Alan Boyle, science editor for NBC news explains humans experience a type of pattern recognition known as pareidolia (a Greek word meaning “wrong shape”), meaning we are so prone to recognizing faces and other human patterns, that we often associate them to inanimate objects. Consider for a moment folks who see the face of Jesus in a piece of burnt toast, or even the “Man in the Moon.”

Science always appears to have explanations for the unexplainable. But would it not be great if God could give us signs like the image of the angel in the clouds to give us approval of disapproval of our actions or thoughts?  What if God started to give us individually his approval or disapproval of our behavior? People would become aware of  the actions and thoughts that would please God. This guidance from God will begin to eliminate greed, arrogance, and self love from our minds, resulting in a joyous world with people helping each other.

Possibly  that angel in the clouds yesterday was God’s approval. That headache, or stomach ache may also have been God’s guidance for your thoughts and actions. Consider whatever occurs; they all may be signs from a loving God!

Where are all the miracles? revised due to comments

What makes people have faith in God. Is it a prophecy that comes true, or is it a miracle that occurs or has occurred that makes us believe? Suppose Jesus did not heal and cure the sick, but only spread the teachings. Would Christianity be so popular today?

Even the Catholic Church today requires proof of a miracle before Saint hood is acclaimed on a person. We all want some kind of proof from above that the person is working on behalf of God. But the question arises do we all have the power to perform miracles,  or the ability to heal?

In the New Testament, the disciples  could not heal a person and asked Jesus to help them. Jesus was able to cure the person, and explained that the disciples could not heal the person because of their lack of faith.

So another question arises, if we are able to heal people, are we a representative of God? Has God blessed us with the power to heal because we understand the teachings? And if our prayer do not heal, should we not look within ourselves to find out why we can not heal?

Today we do not often see the healings and miracles that were written in our sacred books.  Will these prophets and miracle healers appear soon?  Or has the gift of healing been available to everyone  since the beginning of time? Some believe that it is because of the  lack of faith and understanding of God’s teachings that we cannot receive God’s blessings.  It is with this strong faith that comes from within that God allows us to heals the sick; but more important, gives them faith that God does exist.

God’s Special Guidance

The hypothesis that every action or thought has an effect in the future is difficult to prove.  If the effect of our actions or thoughts occurs immediately, the relationship would be easy to understand. But the delay may be prolonged,  possibly extending to our next lives(reincarnation) or to the after life (heaven or hell). This is why it is difficult to see the relationship between the usage of our mind now, and what happens to us in the future.

God sees the difficulty of us understanding this law of causality, and sees the suffering in the world.  God has given us a path to see this relationship. In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

What do you think this path is about?

It is to cleanse the heart of everyone in the world. 16-57

Hereafter, I shall not indicate anyone in particular.

I am watching the innermost heart of each of you. 16-59

I do not indicate anyone in particular by this talk.

I shall give notice through bodily disorders. 16-40

God will begin to lay a special path where cause and effect is seen immediately. The minds of the world will be reflected to God. God will begin to place disorders and illness on our bodies dependent on how we are using our minds today.  When we see this immediate relationship between  bad thoughts and suffering, and  good thoughts and  healthy body, we can begin to eliminate evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from our hearts. Eventually, like the law of gravity, people will accept the law of cause and effect. When this happens, illness and disorders (God’s immediate guidance) will not be needed for us to see this important relationship.

In summary, God has given us this special guidance in making us aware of the law of cause and effect. When everyone understand this important relationship of cause and effect,  the world will become joyous, with everyone helping each other.

Remove Evil From Our Minds

World wide, wars still exist, religious conflicts continue, famines persist due to corruptions, and dictators still oppress their people. Locally, gangs still roam the streets,  drug problems persist, crimes against each other continue;  But in many of our lives, we are aware of the problems, but they do not involve us.  But eventually, if not already,  they will begin to affect our lives directly or indirectly.

Are these the conditions God wanted when he created mankind? In the Tip of the Writing Brush is written:

The reason God began human beings

was the desire to see you lead a joyous life.  14-25

But what has caused these conditions that go contrary to God’s plans? Evil thoughts like greed, arrogance, and self love have permeated the hearts of mankind. The following is from the Tip of the Writing Brush:

Among all humankind, there is no one who is evil.

It is because only a little bit of dust (greed, arrogance, and self love) have stuck. 1-53

It is these evils (greed, arrogance, and self love) that have created the sufferings in the world. For man to have joy in this world , we must eliminate these evils from our minds. When this occurs, Gods purpose for creating human beings will be realized.

True Joy is Unselfishness (2)

What is joy? Is it joy when you eat a sumptuous feast, or when you are driving in that special car?  These events do bring some happiness, but are they joy?  But what happens when we over eat, or when the smell of the new car wears off?  These joys are temporary and may be considered selfish.

Many times we receive joy from helping others, especially when we don’t expect anything in return. Events like graduations, weddings, and anniversaries bring much joy to the participants. Although each event is brought upon by much hard work and sacrifice, the joy comes from helping others without expecting any remuneration or credit.

How about the joy brought upon by a smile of a toddler walking toward you?  The innate unselfish smile of the innocent child gives us joy that is immeasurable.

Donations given to charities, or strangers without any expectations in returns bring us joy.  Some give to charities for tax purposes, or to distinguish themselves in society. These situations may not bring upon true joy?

In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

What do you think  path (joyous path)  is to be?

It is solely mutual help among all people in all matters. 13-37

True joy is difficult to describe; but it is a feeling that makes you happy that you are alive. If one could put it in a bottle and sell it, one can make infinite amounts of dollars. Even if this silly idea were possible, it would be selfish, and would not bring upon true joy.  True joy is free. All we have to do is free our minds of greed, arrogance, and self love. This will create a giving attitude, and bring upon mutual help among all people.  When this occurs, there will be true joy!
