Our Soul
Most of the Ofudesaki is about how God will help people understand their own souls. Our teachings are very simple. All we have to do is understand our own souls to purify our minds. When our minds are purified, only joy will come from our own souls. This is the basic teaching in the Ofudesaki. This is what God wants us to understand, and spread to the world. This is what church leaders should be involved in, to spread the truths that will save the world.
It is about the soul we must understand and spread to the world.But God tells us that people will have a difficult time understanding the soul and what it does while in our bodies. This is why God descended from heaven to help us understand our own souls, so we can purify our minds. When our minds are purified only health and happiness will come from our own souls.
God tells us God will give out blessings. These blessings are not normally what we think as blessings. They are illness placed on the body to reflect the negative thoughts in our minds. It is these negative thoughts we will act upon that will create the fates that our own soul stores and eventually manifest as suffering back to us. By these illness as guidance, God is showing us our future sufferings. This is why God wants us to remove these negative thoughts now, that are in our minds.
But before God begins to work to give out these illnesses, God wants us followers to follow these steps:
- Understand the soul and pure mind ourselves.
- spread the truth of the soul, pure mind, and God’s guidance that may appear on our bodies.
- pray with the Youki-tsutome asking God to convince the people we have spread the truth of the soul.
When God accepts our prayer, God will then place illness on these people to help them understand there own souls. If they understand God’s guidance, they will come to us to heal their illness. We perform the Osazuke to heal them, and give them further instructions on the soul, and pure mind. With God’s guidance, people should be able to purify their own minds. Just to note, that the Osazuke does not work on existing illnesses, but only on illness placed by God as guidance to help people understand their own soul.
This is how our teachings are spread to the world. Our religion exist to spread the truth of the soul, and pure mind. Unfortunately, rituals, customs, and ceremonies are the priorities of the current state of most religions including the Tenrikyo religion. Without understand our own soul, people will not understand why suffering and joy occur in the world. When the world understands the soul, there will be heaven on earth! God will help us accomplish this. But again, we who have God’s truth must read God’s instructions in the Ofudesaki and implement these instructions for God to help us.
おふでさきの大半は、神がどのように人々が自分自身の魂を理解するのを助けるかについてです。私たちの教えはとてもシンプルです。私たちがすべきことは、自分の魂を理解し、kokoro (mind) を浄化することです。kokoro (mind) が浄化されれば、自分の魂からは喜びしか生まれません。これがおふでさきの基本的な教えです。これこそ神が私たちに理解させ、世に広めることを望んでおられることなのです。 これこそ、世界を救う真理を広めるために、教会の指導者が携わるべきことなのです。
私たちが理解し、世に広めなければならないのは、魂についてである。しかし神は、人々が魂と、それが私たちの肉体の中で何をしているのかを理解するのは難しいだろうと教えている。 だからこそ神は、私たちが自分の魂を理解し、kokoro (mind) を清めることができるように、天から降りてきてくださったのです。私たちのkokoro (mind) が浄化されたとき、私たち自身の魂から健康と幸福だけがもたらされるのです」。

1. 魂と純粋なkokoro (mind) を自ら理解する。
2. 魂の真実、純粋な kokoro (mind)、神聖な導きが肉体に現れるかもしれないことを広める。
3. 「Youki-tsutome」を行う。私たちは、自分の魂の真実について人々を納得させるよう神に求める。
神様が私たちの祈りを受け入れてくだされば、神様はその人たちが自分の魂を理解できるように、病気になるように仕向けるのです。
もし彼らが神の導きを理解するならば、病気を治すために私たちのところに来るだろう。

Tell Them
Some things written in the Ofudesaki are difficult and uncomfortable to do. For example, God tells us to tell people that God will place illness on their bodies. We do not want our children and friends to suffer any illness. But, if we could help them have a happy and healthy life for eternity, will we able to accept their suffering now?
Why does God place illness, and call it a blessing? Because if people accept the illness as God’s guidance, they will be able to understand their own souls to purify their own minds. When their minds are pure, only health and happiness will come from their souls. But God tells us that by only talking to people about God’s teachings will not help to convince them, especially about the topic of the soul, and the pure mind. This is why God tells us that God will help us convince these people of the soul. God will place illness as guidance to convince them of the soul. Why understanding the soul is important will not be explained here, as it has been extensively posted earlier. But because we have told them, they will understand God’s guidance when it appears. Some will ignore the guidance, and will continue to act on their negative thoughts. But those who understand the guidance, will come to us to be healed, and given more information on the soul, and why it is so important that they understand it. The following is from the Ofudesaki:
Well, today, whatever talks also, step by step,

Whatever happens, if one does not tell, there will be no understanding.

Because we are not following these instructions, our teachings are not spreading to the world. We must tell people, as uncomfortable it may feel, that God will place suffering on their bodies to help them understand the soul.
おふでさきに書かれていることの中には、実行するのが困難で不快なものもある。例えば、神様は人々に、神様が彼らの体に病気をつけることを伝えなさいとおっしゃいます。私たちは、自分の子供や友人が病気に苦しむことを望んでいません。しかし、もし彼らが永遠に健康で幸せな人生を送れるように手助けができるのなら、私たちは彼らの苦しみを今受け入れることができるだろうか？

I am trying to convey God’s truth that is in the Ofudesaki. I have published a book that summarizes the Ofudesaki. Hopefully it will help people understand God’s teaching. Introduction
The question is, why is there suffering and joy in the world? Is everything that happens by chance or coincidence? Is there a higher good power like God and an opposing evil power that places joy or suffering upon us? The answers to these questions may surprise you. The Ofudesaki is a sacred scripture from God that explains to us why we suffer or have joy. Unlike other teachings, it tells us how to remove the sufferings, to attain health and happiness; and it tells us how to spread the teachings to others.
Some may also wonder if there is justice in the world. Why do evil people appear to have joy? Do they think they can get away with their evil actions, if they are not caught and punished? It is to these people that God wants to save. They do not know what may occur to them in the future.
Ingredients to Live the Joyous life
God tells us we must first understand our own soul. Most people accept that their bodies decay when they die, but their souls continue to exist for eternity. But what they do not know is that it is our own soul that monitor our behaviors while it is present in our bodies.
We reap what we have sowed because of our own soul. Our fates created from our own actions, come from our souls. Many times these fates do not manifest in this life time, because the right opportunity does not present itself. This explains why some evil people do not suffer in this lifetime. Our souls carry these fates and their associated thoughts to the next life, where they are then manifested. Although our memories are erased, death does not eliminate our fates and their associated thoughts. It does not give us a fresh start in life when it enters our bodies when we are reborn.
Now you are wondering, am I to suffer for what I have done in my past life, something I have no memories of doing? No, God tells us we do not have to suffer. We cannot go back in a time machine to correct our negative actions, but we can remove the negative thoughts that are associated with the fate or suffering that is appearing. Remember each fate is associated with a thought or thoughts we have acted upon. If we can remove the negative thought or thoughts in our minds, we can lessen the effects of the associated fate, or eliminate it completely. This is why God tells us to remove our negative thoughts from our mind, especially when suffering or obstacles appears from our souls. This is opposite of what we normally do now. We usually want to blame God, or others for our misfortunes, and act again on our negative thoughts, to create more negative fate.
What negative thoughts do we ponder, when obstacles or negative people, who are messengers of our souls, appear in our lives? God tells us these thoughts are disappointment, covetousness, self-love, greed, and arrogance. These are the dusts in our mind God wants us to sweep. When our minds are free from these dusts, only joy will come from our souls.
These ingredients are simple, but difficult to accomplish. The emotions that arise from our negative thoughts are difficult to resist. But by calming our minds, and not acting on our negative thoughts when our soul delivers obstacles, we can purify our minds, and live a happy life. This is what God wants for everyone. But for some they will want to share their joy with others. These people who want to propagate God’s teaching are normal people usually participating in their churches. Some may get more involved, becoming ministers or leaders of the church. To these people, God has given them the instructions on how to spread the teachings, especially about the soul, in the Ofudesaki.
HOW DO WE SPREAD GOD’S TEACHING OF THE SOUL TO SAVE THE WORLD?
This is where God comes into play. God has given us the instructions to share the teachings to others. This is also where our religion plays a role in saving the world.
First God tells us that it will be difficult to convince others by just talking to them about the soul. Therefore God will help us convince these people of the presence of the soul. To do this, God will place illness depending on the negative thoughts in their minds. Because it is these negative thoughts in their minds that they will likely act upon that creates their negative fates. It is these fates or negative energies that their own soul, collects, stores and later manifests. God by the illness given, is showing these people what negative thoughts are in their mind, and also showing them their future sufferings, if they do not eliminate these thoughts. These are what God’s guidance is about. It is to convince people of what our soul’s do each day, while in our bodies. It monitors our behavior, and eventually metes out justice for our actions. When people understand the soul, they will be reluctant to do evil things. They will be able to purify their minds of their existent mind. When their minds are pure, only joy will appear from their own souls.
But before God places guidance, we must tell the people in advance of the guidance that may appear to help them understand their own soul. When we do this, they will become aware of the guidance when it appear before them. Yes difficult and uncomfortable as it may seem, we must inform people that illness may appear on their bodies when we spread the teaching of the soul and pure mind.
After we spread the teachings to others, we must perform a special prayer (Youki-tsutome), asking God to place guidance upon the people we have spread the teachings. We are actually asking God to help these people sweep their own minds of negative dusts. This is only possible when they understand their own souls. With God’s guidance, they will be able to understand the soul, and begin to sweep their negative thoughts by themselves.
When God accepts our prayer, God will then place guidance on these people to help them understand the soul to sweep their negative thoughts from their minds. The severity and type of illness will depend on the negative thoughts in their minds.
For those who understand the guidance given, they will come to us to be healed of their illness, and further given information of the soul, and pure mind. This is how we spread the teachings to save the world.
For those who think that they do not want illness placed on their bodies, God by these guidance, is just showing them the sufferings that will appear in their lives in the future, if they do not remove their existing negative thoughts in their minds. God is showing them their future now, so they can remove their negative thoughts. When our minds are pure, only joy and health will appear from our souls.
To review how to spread the teachings, these are the steps:
1. Purify your own mind by understanding the soul.
2. Spread the teaching of the soul, and God’s guidance that may appear on the body as illness.
3. Pray to God with the Youki-tsutome daily, asking God to place illness, to help people understand their own soul.
4. God, if our prayer is accepted, places illness as guidance on these people to help them purify their minds.
5. These people if they understand God’s guidance, will come to you, to be healed.
6. We perform the Osazuke to heal them, and further teach them of the soul.
As one can see, the attaining of health and happiness is a simple process of only understanding the soul. This is what God expects of the majority of the world to understand. God has given the instructions for “anyone” to spread the teachings to others. One does not have to be a minister or leader of the church to do this. The leaders exist only to organize and support the general people in their quest for health and happiness. In essence, their main duties are not to increase church membership, facilitating donations, pilgrimages, rituals, customs, and traditions, but to facilitate the understanding of the soul to the world.
WHAT MAY HAPPEN TO YOU UPON READING THIS Book
You may shortly receive God’s blessings of guidance to help you purify your mind. This occurs because some of us are praying daily asking God to help you understand the soul, the pure mind, and God’s guidance that may appear to you. Sometimes just words will not convince you about God’s teachings. This is why if you are given the information of the soul, God may place guidance on your body, to convince you of the soul.
When you receive these blessings, do not ignore it as an event by chance or coincidence. God is just showing you what your soul does, if you act upon the negative thoughts that are present in your mind. If you understand God’s guidance, you are welcome to come to our places of worship to be healed of your illness by the osazuke (special prayer to heal), and you will be further instructed on the soul. More will be explained to help you understand what has been said to attain health and happiness.

喜びに満ちた人生の要素
神は私たちに、まず自分自身の魂を理解しなければならないと教えている。多くの人は、人は死ぬと肉体は朽ち果てるが、魂は永遠に存在し続けると信じている。しかし、彼らが知らないのは、魂が肉体の中にある間、私たちの行動を監視しているのは私たち自身の魂だということだ。

まず神は、魂について話すだけでは他人を納得させることは難しいと教えている。そこで神は、魂の存在を説得する手助けをしてくださる。そのために、神は彼らの心の中にある否定的な考えによって病気を発症させる。なぜなら、彼らの心の中にある否定的な思いこそが、彼らの否定的な運命を生み出すからである。このような運命やネガティブなエネルギーは、彼ら自身の魂に集められ、蓄積され、後に顕在化する。神は、与えられた病気によって、この人たちの心の中にある否定的な思いを示し、また、もしこの思いを取り除かなければ、将来この人たちが受ける苦しみを示しているのだ。これが神の導きである。魂が肉体の中にある間、私たちの魂が日々何をしているかを人々に納得させることだ。 魂は私たちの行動を監視し、最終的には私たちの行動に正義をもたらす。魂を理解すれば、人は悪事を働くことを嫌がるようになる。存在する心を浄化することができるようになる。心が純粋になれば、自分の魂から喜びだけが現れる。
しかし、神が導きを置く前に、私たちは、人々が自分自身の魂を理解するのを助けるために、現れるかもしれない導きを事前に伝えなければならない。そうすることで、ガイダンスが目の前に現れたとき、彼らはそのガイダンスに気づくようになる。魂と純粋な心の教えを広めるとき、病気になる可能性があることを伝えなければならない。

神は、彼らが否定的な考えを取り除くことができるように、彼らの未来を今示しているのだ。私たちのココロ（mind）が純粋であれば、魂からは喜びと健康しか生まれない。
教えを広める方法をおさらいすると、次のようなステップになる：
