The following blog is the same blog from yesterday. It attempts to replace the negative topic of suffering with the positive subject of joy, to accentuate the positive in religion.
In our lives, there are facts of life that we have complete faith in, like the law of gravity, the earth is round, we are born and die, etc. Most of what occurs in our lives makes sense to us. When a problem occurs, we try to resolve it by finding the cause of it. Everything has to make sense to us. Yet there are events in our lives that are mysterious to us. Why do some people have happy lives? How do we find joy?
Religions have appeared to answer some of these mysteries. Some profess these blessings are a result of faith in God. Others say they are God’s rewards for living life without sin. Possibly the answer to these mysteries already exist. This one explanation that coincides with our quest to find meaning to finding joy is the Law of Causality.
What comes around goes around. What one sows, one reaps. These are all quotes about the law of causality (karma, innen). Good actions and thoughts bring forth joy, and evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions bring forth suffering in the future. For many, the problem arises in understanding this concept due to the prolong lapse of time between cause and effect, sometimes extending to next lives (reincarnation). Our joy now is a result of our past thoughts and actions.
Understand causality does explain many of the mysteries that occur in our lives, and it gives us comfort knowing that we can change our future by our actions and thoughts of today. Karma, causality and innen are not fatalistic explanations, but are opportunistic concepts that provide information on how to obtain joy in the future for all mankind. Remove greed, arrogance, and self love from your minds. Watch for God’s blessings!
