What is God’s litmus test for being on the right path to salvation? It is said that if we have anger, we do not know God’s teachings. Anger arises from arrogance. When we feel that we are better than others, then we are more prone to get angry at the behavior of others. This is especially true when their actions oppose our views.
Education, power, and riches do not make one better than others. These are but extrinsic materials that we collect and discard. The homeless person and the high paid executive officer are on the same level. Nobility, race, religion, and gender do not make us better than others. They are but temporary dwellings. Males and females are on equal grounds. We are all God’s children.
It is with this knowledge that we must eliminate arrogance from our minds. When this happens, anger will not easily arise. Elimination of arrogance is one of the evils that we must sweep from our minds. If you have anger, you may not know God’s teachings.
