Where was I?

Sometimes I wonder what happens when I die. I know my physical body will decompose and become integrated in the earth. But what would become of my thoughts. Would I still be able to think, or would my thoughts completely vanish? It is a disturbing thought that one might become nonexistent.

A couple of days I was looking at the family album with my 4-year-old grandson. I was showing him pictures of his mom when she was about his age.  He appeared to understand that his mom was once a child: but he asked a question that totally surprised me. He asked, “ Where was I”.

Most religions have an answer to where we go after we die; but they have no answer to this simple question of  “Where was I”.   Can death and birth have the same origin?

  1. Simple, you were here. But God knew you from the beginning.
