Who is Jesus?

How does God choose his prophets? Why was Jesus chosen to save mankind? Let us review some information on Jesus Christ. He is said to be the Son of God. He was said be born from Immaculate Conception. He is said to have been resurrected from death (reincarnation?). When Jesus walked the earth, there were many who believed in reincarnation.

If reincarnation is possible, could Jesus have been Adam in Genesis? Could Jesus have the soul of the first man that was created by God? Who else could be born of Immaculate Conception than the first being? Who else can God claim as his son, created in the image of himself? But most important, who else can have a pure mind of God, that Adam was said to have at creation. Something to ponder about

I strongly suspect that the man we call Jesus was the reincarnation of Abraham. Abraham met Melchizedek in Genesis and immediately made an offering to him. In Hebrews we read that Jesus because a priest forever in the order of Melchisedec. In Genesis Abraham is severely tested to see if he will give up what is most precious to him, his son Isaac (to see perhaps if he has the faith to make the ultimate sacrifice as Jesus on the cross).

In the Gospel of John we have Jesus in a very unfriendly exchange with the Pharisees where Jesus tells them that Abraham longed to see his day, and did. I believe Jesus was telling the truth, as the entity that overshadowed him revealed this to Jesus.

That entity that overshadowed Jesus at his baptism by John the Baptist was the Christ (and Melchizedek) and until that moment the Christ was not on earth in fullness. I have a copy J.J. Dewey’s explanation of that on my website here:

Abraham may have been a reincarnation of Adam, or the first parent of mankind??? Adam, Abraham and Jesus as the same soul? One of the reasons that I suggested that Jesus was Adam in reincarnation was that immaculate conception of a human being can only occur at the origin of creation. Thank you for your thought provoking idea!

“Abraham may have been a reincarnation of Adam”

I believe, as did the early Jewish Christians who actually knew Jesus in person, that he was a human being conceived and born in the normal manner. In history these people became known as the Ebionites and were declared heretical. They disappear from history somewhere around the 4-5th century A.D.

As I alluded to early, we can better understand who Jesus Christ was if we express it this way:

    Jesus + Christ

“Christ” is more a name for an “office” than a personal name. It might be translated as “one appointed to save.” This Christ, or Melchizedek overshadowed Jesus as testified to by John the Baptist at the famous baptismal scene in the Gospel of John. The Baptist had been told that someone would be overshadowed and he would see certain “signs” to this effect. That is what he is talking about when he talks of a dove descending on Jesus and staying.

If you read carefully in John we hear Jesus saying things like the father is in him, and the father does the work, and he says what the father tells him what to say. This was I think literally true. Jesus was in a state of voluntary and benign possession by a higher being who could not himself incarnate but required a human vehicle (Jesus) to do this work.

And again, my personal belief is that Jesus the man was Abraham sent again to the Jews as he testified in John when he said that Abraham had longed to see that day, and in fact did see it (which nearly got him killed by the Pharisees right then and there).

This idea of overshadowing is explained in much greater detail in the link I gave previously for the “Overshadowing of Jesus.”

The author of that same article also advances the idea that “Adam” was being oveshadowed by the Ancient of Days mentioned in the Old Testament, an even higher being that the Christ.

    Hebrews 7:1-3King James Version (KJV)

7 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

It is not surprising that other religions also have incidents of overshadowing by God (higher being). In the Heaven’s Truth Religion (Tenrikyo), it is said that God descended and “overshadowed” Miki Nakayama in the nineteenth Century. She was said to be the first parent of mankind. Through her, God gave us the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki).

I thank you for your insight of your religion, and hope that we all work to bring peace and joy through our understanding of the scriptures (sacred books).
