Our Prayer for World Salvation

In our religion, most of us believe that performing the Joyous Service, Yorozuyo and the 12 songs will bring upon God’s blessings. Some will even say one has to perform the Yorozuyo and the 12 songs without one single mistake for God to give the blessings. But are they correct that performing the Service without a mistake will bring upon God’s miracles?

In the Ofudesaki, God appears to tell the early followers to perform the Service for God’s blessings.

At this time, quickly the hand dance (Joyous Service), begin it.

This is a signal for a miraculous occurrence.  1-15

But the following verse, tells us that just the performance of the Service may not bring upon God’s blessings.

This signal, for a miracle to occur that is said, it has not been seen.

When this day arrives, (they) will certainly understand.  1-16

God does not say, the Joyous Service for a miracle to occur; but God specifically say signal. Merriam Webster defines signal as:

an act, event, or watchword that has been agreed on as the occasion of concerted action.

So it is not just the Joyous Service that we must perform, but there appears to be prerequisites that must be agreed to, to receive God’s blessings. What are these prerequisites that must be done before the Joyous Service becomes effective?

In the Ofudesaki, God appears to be preparing the early followers to perform this special Service. First the understanding of one’s own heart to purify the mind is essential. This is so important that in both the first verse of the Ofudesaki and the Yorozuyo, God tells us we do not understand our own heart or mune.  We must understand the heart to purify our own minds. The second prerequisite is the spreading of this information to others when our mind is pure. All through the Ofudesaki, God is preparing the early followers to accomplish these two steps.  When both of these two steps are completed, God will accept the Joyous Service; and God will begin to help us save the world.
