The teachings in the Ofudesaki is simple. God tells us that we are saved when we attain the pure mind. This is a mind without regret (oshii), covetousness (hoshii), self-love (kawaii), greed (yoku), and arrogance (kouman). Only joy and health will appear from our souls when we are saved. This is the message we must spread to the world. How do we do this? God gives us the instructions in the Ofudesaki.
Yet today our religion places more emphasis on rituals, and ceremonies that are not in the Ofudesaki. God has given two special prayer (Youki-tsutome and Osazuke), that helps us spread the teachings of the pure mind and our own soul. But unfortunately these prayers are not understood, and not used as intended by God. Again the instructions in the Ofudesaki are not understood by our church leaders.
Unfortunately there is much suffering in the world. Why is there suffering? The answer is in the Ofudesaki. It is up to our religion to spread the teachings to the world. How do we do this? The instructions are in the Ofudesaki, the most sacred scripture in the world.
Note: The English translation of the Tenrikyo Church Headquarter is not accurate. For the most accurate translation, one can purchase the Ofudesaki on Amazon (red book), and also a pamphlet called “the Summary of the Most Sacred Scripture, Ofudesaki (also a red book). Both the current church translation and the word for word translation is included in the Ofudesaki, so one can compare both translation.
