Some one just posted saying how the Yorozuyo and 12 dances were important in the Tenrikyo religion. This was my response:
If you are talking about the Yorozuyo and the Twelve Dances (Jūni-kudari), I would like to share my thoughts about these dances.
I believe these dances are a good summary of the Ofudesaki. I think Oyasama created these dances so that people could understand the instructions written in the Ofudesaki.
However, today I think these dances are too difficult for the average person to perform. This is especially true for foreigners. How can we expect foreigners to wear Japanese clothing and perform this service in Japanese? I believe this service may be hindering the spreading of the teachings.
For people like you who are fluent in Japanese, if performing this service helps purify your kokoro (mind), I encourage you to continue performing it.
Fortunately, in our faith there is another service called the Youki-tsutome. This service is also mentioned in the Ofudesaki. It is a prayer meant to save others. But what does it mean to be saved? When the kokoro (mind) becomes pure, a person is saved. When this happens, only health and joy will appear from one’s own soul.
So what is the soul? I believe this is what God wants us to spread to the world. The soul is what watches over our behavior while it resides in our physical bodies. We reap what we have sown because of our own soul. If we understand the soul, we can understand why joy and suffering occur in this world.
So what does the Youki-tsutome have to do with the soul? God knows how difficult it is to convince people about the existence of the soul. That is why God granted us the Youki-tsutome. Through this prayer, God’s guidance begins to work upon the people to whom we have already spoken about the soul.
God gives illness as guidance according to the amount and type of negative thoughts a person holds in their kokoro (mind). These thoughts eventually become actions in the future, and as a result they become fate. Our own soul stores these things and eventually returns them to us as suffering. In other words, through the illness that is given, God is showing people their future.
If people understand this guidance, they will come to our places of worship in order to be healed from the illness given as God’s guidance. We also have another prayer granted by God called the Osazuke. This cures illnesses that are given as God’s guidance. The Osazuke does not cure every illness; it only cures illnesses placed by God.
In this way, the teaching about the soul spreads throughout the world. If you do not believe what I am saying, try reading the Ofudesaki without adding any interpretations, defining each word as it appears in hiragana and in its waka-style poetic form. You may be surprised to realize how much our religion is not following the instructions written in the Ofudesaki.
In summary, the Yorozuyo and the Twelve Dances are not so important. Rather, if our religion is to spread throughout the world, the performance of the Youki-tsutome is most important. Even more important is spreading the teaching of the soul.
もしよろづよと**十二下り（じゅうにくだり）**の踊りについて話しているのであれば、これらの踊りについての私の考えを述べます。
これらの踊りは、おふでさきの内容をよく要約したものだと思います。私は、おやさまが人々におふでさきの指示を理解してもらうために、これらの踊りを作られたのだと考えています。
しかし現在では、これらの踊りは平均的な人にとって行うには難しすぎると思います。特に外国人にとってはそうです。外国人に日本の服装をして、日本語でこのつとめを行うことをどのように期待できるのでしょうか。私は、このつとめが教えを広めることを妨げているのではないかと考えています。
日本語に堪能なあなたのような方々には、それがココロ（mind）を清める助けになるのであれば、このつとめを続けて行うことを勧めます。
幸いなことに、私たちの信仰にはもう一つのつとめ、陽気づとめ（ようきづとめ）があります。これはおふでさきにも述べられているつとめです。これは人を救うための祈りです。では、救われるとはどういう意味でしょうか。ココロ（mind）が清くなるとき、人は救われます。そうなれば、自分の魂からは健康と喜びだけが現れるようになります。
では、魂とは何でしょうか。これこそ神が世界に広めることを望んでいるものだと私は考えます。魂とは、私たちがこの肉体に宿っているときに、私たちの行いを見守っているものです。私たちが蒔いたものを刈り取るのは、自分自身の魂によるものです。もし魂を理解すれば、この世でなぜ喜びや苦しみが起こるのかを理解することができます。
では、陽気づとめは魂とどのような関係があるのでしょうか。神は、人々に魂の存在を理解させることがどれほど難しいかをご存じです。だからこそ神は、私たちに陽気づとめを授けてくださったのだと思います。この祈りによって、私たちがすでに魂のことを伝えてきた人々に対して、神の導きが始まります。
神は、人がココロ（mind）に抱いている否定的な思いの量や種類に応じて、導きとして病を与えます。これらの思いが将来の行動となり、その結果として運命となり、自分の魂がそれを蓄え、やがて苦しみとして私たちに返してくるのです。言い換えれば、神は与えられた病を通して、人々に未来を示しているのです。
もし人々がこの導きを理解すれば、神の導きによる病を治してもらうために、私たちの礼拝の場へとやって来るでしょう。私たちには、神から授けられたもう一つの祈り、おさづけがあります。これは神の導きによる病を治すものです。おさづけはあらゆる病を治すものではなく、神によって与えられた導きの病だけを治します。
このようにして、魂についての教えが世界に広まっていくのです。もし私の言うことを信じられないのであれば、おふでさきを解釈を加えずに読み、ひらがなで書かれた和歌の言葉を一つ一つそのままの意味で理解してみてください。そうすれば、私たちの宗教がどれほどおふでさきの指示に従っていないかに驚くことでしょう。
まとめると、よろづよや十二下りの踊りはそれほど重要ではありません。それよりも、私たちの宗教が世界に広まるためには、陽気づとめを行うことが何よりも重要です。そしてさらに大切なのは、魂の教えを広めることなのです。
Last 3 Verses of the Ofudesaki
It is interesting that the final three verses of the Ofudesaki summarizes God’s truth that is in the Ofudesaki. God is telling us to look at God’s illness that appears and acknowledge it. By verse 17-74, God is telling us the Youki-tsutome initiates God’s guidance. Then in verse 17-75, God tells us to ponder God’s guidance to become convinced of the soul. Remember in the first verse God tells us we do not understand the soul.
In summary it is the soul that God wants the world to understand, and the fates that appear from it. God helps us spread this truth, by granting us the Youki-tsutome to perform. This prayer initiates God’s guidance to help the people we have spread the teachings to understand their own soul. When they understand the soul, they can purify their own minds. When the mind is pure, one is saved. Only joy and health will appear from one’s own soul.
最後の三節の御文章（Ofudesaki）が、御文章全体にある神の真理をまとめていることは興味深いです。神は私たちに、現れる神の病（神の現れや問題）を見つめ、それを認めるように語りかけています。
17-74節では、神は「陽気勤め（Youki-tsutome）」が神の導きを始めることを伝えています。そして17-75節では、神は私たちに神の導きをよく考えるように語りかけ、それによって魂を確信するよう促しています。初めの節で神は、私たちは魂を理解していないことを示しています。
まとめると、神が世界に理解してほしいのは「魂」であり、そこから生じる運命です。神は、私たちに陽気勤めを授けて、この真理を広める手助けをしてくださいます。この祈りは、私たちが教えを広めた人々が自らの魂を理解するための神の導きを始めるものです。魂を理解したとき、人は自らのkokoro (mind)を清めることができます。kokoro (mind)が清らかになれば、人は救われ、喜びと健康だけが魂から現れるのです。

Understanding the Soul
What does God tell us in the Ofudesaki? God tells us that it is our soul that monitors our behavior, and metes out justice for our behavior. When our minds are pure, one is saved. Only health and joy will appear from our souls.
How do we convince people of these truths? We are not alone in this endeavor to save the world. God in the Ofudesaki, tells us God will help us do this. This is why God has granted us two special prayers. The first is the Youki-tsutome that initiates God’s guidance of illness placed on the people we have informed of the soul. If the people understand God’s guidance, they are encouraged to come to our places of worship to heal the illness placed by God. We perform the Osazuke, which God has granted, and they are healed. This circumstance also give us another opportunity to inform these people of God’s teachings of the soul to purify one’s own mind.
Are God’s intstructions being followed by the current church leaders?
First of all, church leaders do not understand their own soul (mune), and what it does while present in their bodies. The phrase ” the innermost soul, what comes from, to ponder” appears in the Ofudesaki. It is our fates that appear from our own souls.
Second, they do not understand why they perform the Youki-tsutome. They believe it is a prayer to save themselves, specifically asking God to sweep their negative thoughts away. But it is a prayer asking God to save others. We should already know how to sweep our own minds by understanding what comes from our own souls.
Third they do not understand the Osazuke. Church leaders believe that they can cure any illness with the performance of this Service. This often leads to disappointment and excuses when the prayer does not heal. The Osazuke is only meant to heal the illness brought upon by the Youki-tsutome, to help one understand one’s own soul.
In summary, because the instructions in the Ofudesaki are not being followed, the world continues to suffer. They do not understand the soul.
『おふでさき』において、神様は私たちに何をお教えくださっているのでしょうか。
神様は、私たちの行いを見守り、その行いに応じて理をあらわすのは私たち自身の魂であるとお教えくださっています。私たちのこゝろ（mind）が澄みきれば、人はたすかります。魂から現れるのは、健康と喜びだけです。
では、これらの真理をどのように人々にお伝えすればよいのでしょうか。
この世をたすける営みにおいて、私たちは決して一人ではありません。『おふでさき』の中で、神様はこの働きをお助けくださると示されています。そのために、神様は二つの特別なおつとめをお与えくださいました。
第一は、陽気づとめです。これは、魂の話をお伝えした人々に対して、神様が病という導きをお始めくださることを願うおつとめです。もしその人が神様の導きを悟れば、神様からの病を癒していただくために、信仰の場へと足を運ぶよう促されます。そして、神様からお許しいただいたおさづけを取り次ぐことによって、その病が癒されます。この出来事はまた、その人に魂の教えを伝え、自らのこゝろ（mind）を澄ます機会ともなります。
では、現在の教会指導者たちは神様のご指図に従っているのでしょうか。
第一に、多くの指導者は自らの魂（むね）と、それが身体にある間にどのような働きをするのかを理解していないように思われます。『おふでさき』には「胸のうちより出るをよく思案せよ」という趣旨の教えがあります。私たちの運命は、自らの魂から現れるのです。
第二に、なぜ陽気づとめをつとめるのかを十分に理解していないように思われます。自分自身をたすけてもらう祈り、すなわち自分の否定的な思いを神様に払っていただく祈りであると考えている人もいます。しかし本来は、人をたすけていただくための祈りです。自らの魂から出る理を理解していれば、自分のこゝろ（mind は自ら治めていくべきものです。
第三に、おさづけについても十分に理解していないように思われます。おさづけを取り次げばどのような病でも治せると考えることがあります。しかしそれが叶わないとき、失望や言い訳が生まれます。おさづけは、陽気づとめによってお与えいただいた導きの病を通して、自らの魂を悟らせるための理によるものです。
まとめると、『おふでさき』のご教示が十分に実行されていないために、世界はなお苦しみの中にあります。それは、魂というものを正しく理解していないからであると思います。

Can We Kill All Evil People?
It is interesting that most people believe that by removing or killing an evil person, one can remove evil and attain justice. In the Ofudesaki, God teaches us there is no one who is evil. Just dust or negative thoughts have attached to his or her mind. Instead of killing the body that God loans them, we must help remove the negative thoughts of those people.
For instance, take the war that we are have started. Most people believe that we must remove these evil people that have killed hundreds and even thousands of innocent people. But like I said, it is the thoughts in their minds that they act upon. Even if we remove their physical bodies, there are many more people who have the same thoughts as the person or persons killed. Do we try to bomb and kill all these people? This is what some leaders want. But what will be the result?
In the Ofudesaki, God tells us that we must try to remove their evil thoughts. How do we do this? We must spread God’s truth to them. What are God’s truths?
First God tells us that we must understand our own soul. It is our own soul that monitors our behavior while it resides in our physical bodies. We suffer or have joy because of our own soul. It is not God or Satan that does this. If we understand the soul, we will understand why joy or sorrow exist in the world, and the world will be reluctant to act on their evil thoughts.
2nd, God tells us if we can purify our own minds of negative thoughts, we are saved. Only joy and health will appear from our own souls. These negative thoughts are regret, covetousness, self-love, greed, and arrogance. They all attribute to negative emotions like hate, anger, and grudge bearing.
In the Ofudesaki, the most sacred scripture, God tells us how to remove our negative thoughts, and God also tells us how to spread the truths to the world. God will help us do this by two special prayers that have been granted to us. I will not go into this now as previous post have explained what these two prayers do.
In Summary, we cannot remove evil people by killing them, we must remove their negative thoughts. This will appear to be difficult, as people are adamant in their beliefs and religion. But God teaches us in the Ofudesaki how to change their minds. The instructions are all in the Ofudesaki!
興味深いことに、多くの人々は、悪人を排除したり殺したりすれば、悪を取り除き、正義を達成できると信じています。しかし『おふでさき』の中で、神は「悪人という人間は存在しない」と教えています。ただ、その人のkokoro (mind)にほこり（＝ネガティブな思い）が付着しているだけなのです。神からお借りしている身体を殺すのではなく、その人たちのネガティブな思いを取り除かなければなりません。
例えば、私たちが始めた戦争を考えてみてください。多くの人は、何百人、何千人もの罪のない人々を殺した悪人たちを排除しなければならないと考えています。しかし、先に述べたように、彼らが行動に移すのはその心
kokoro (mind)にある思いです。たとえ彼らの肉体を取り除いたとしても、同じ思いを抱く人は他にも大勢います。それなら、そうした人々をすべて爆撃し、殺そうとするのでしょうか。これを望む指導者もいます。しかし、その結果はどうなるでしょうか。
『おふでさき』の中で神は、私たちは彼らの悪い思いを取り除くよう努めなければならないと教えています。では、どのようにしてそれを行うのでしょうか。それは、神の真理を彼らに伝えることです。では、神の真理とは何でしょうか。
第一に、神は私たちに自らの魂を理解しなければならないと教えています。魂は肉体に宿っている間、自分自身の行いを見守っています。私たちが苦しみや喜びを経験するのは、自らの魂によるのであって、神やサタンによるのではありません。魂を理解すれば、なぜこの世に喜びや悲しみが存在するのかを理解できるようになり、人々は悪い思いに基づいて行動することをためらうようになるでしょう。
第二に、神は、私たちが自らのkokoro (mind)からネガティブな思いを清めることができれば、救われると教えています。自らの魂からは、喜びと健康だけが現れるのです。
これらのネガティブな思いとは、後悔、欲深さ、自己愛、貪欲、そして傲慢さです。これらはすべて、憎しみや怒り、恨みといった否定的な感情を生み出す原因となります。
『おふでさき』という最も神聖な教えの中で、神はネガティブな思いを取り除く方法、そしてその真理を世界に広める方法を示しています。そして神は、私たちに授けられた二つの特別な祈りによって、それを助けてくださいます。この二つの祈りの働きについては、以前の投稿で説明しましたので、ここでは詳しく述べません。
まとめると、悪人を殺すことで悪を取り除くことはできません。取り除くべきなのは、その人たちのネガティブな思いです。これは、人々が自らの信念や宗教に強く固執しているため、困難に思えるかもしれません。しかし神は『おふでさき』の中で、どのようにして人々の心
kokoro (mnd)を変えていくかを教えています。そのための教えはすべて『おふでさき』に記されています。

Youki-tsutome, a Prayer to Save Others
The Youki-tsutome is a special prayer that helps others sweep their negative thoughts. It initiates God’s guidance (workings/you) to help others understand their own soul. When one understands the soul, one can purify one’s own mind. When the mind is pure, one is saved. Only health and joy will appear from one’s own soul.
It is not a prayer asking God to sweep our own minds.
陽気づとめ（ようきづとめ）は、他人のネガティブな思いを払い清めるのを助ける特別な祈りです。それは神のご守護（はたらき／よう）を呼び起こし、人々が自らの魂を理解できるよう導きます。魂を理解すると、自分自身のkokoro (mind) を清めることができます。kokoro (mind) が清まれば、人は救われます。そして、自らの魂からは健康と喜びだけが現れるのです。
それは、自分自身のkokoro (mind)を神様に掃き清めていただくようお願いする祈りではありません。

What is the purpose of our prayer?
私の解釈は何でしょうか？
私たちが祐気詰め（ゆうきづめ）を行うとき、私たちは自分が何を祈っているのかよく分かっていません。
私たちは、この特別な祈りで神様に何をお願いしているのかを尋ねたり、確かめたりする必要があります。
多くの人は、自分の埃や悪い考えを取り除いてもらうことで、自分自身を救うために祈っていると思っています。しかし、御ふでさきでは、神様はこの特別な祈りは他の人の心を清めるためにあると教えてくださっています。
神様が私たちの祈りを受け入れると、神様は人々が魂を理解し、体の中で魂が何をしているのかを知る手助けとして、病気を導きとして置かれます。
魂を理解すると、私たちは心を清めることができます。心が清まれば、人は救われます。喜びと健康は、自分自身の魂から生まれるのです。
私たちが祐気詰め（ゆうきづめ）を行うとき、私たちは自分が何を祈っているのかよく分かっていません。
私たちは、この特別な祈りで神様に何をお願いしているのかを尋ねたり、確かめたりする必要があります。

What is my interpretation? We when we perform the Youki-tsume do not know what we are praying for. We must inquire or find out what we are asking God to do with this special prayer. Most of us think we are praying to save ourselves by asking God to remove our dusts or negative thoughts. But God tells us in the Ofudesaki, this special prayer is to help others sweep their minds. When God accepts our prayer God places illness of guidance to help people understand the soul, and what it does while in our bodies. When one understands the soul, one can purify one’s mind. When the mind is pure one is saved. Only joy and health will appear from our own soul.

We Must Understand the Soul (mune)
Church leaders believe that the Youki-tsutome is a prayer asking God to sweep our own minds. But is this correct? In the Ofudesaki, it appears that the Youki-tsutome is a prayer to save others. It initiates God’s guidance of illness to help people understand the function of their own soul. When people understand their own soul, they can begin to purify their minds. Verse 3-59, and 3-60 tells us God places illness as guidance to the people we have spread the teachings to. These guidances are initiated by our performance of a simple prayer asking God to help us sweep the minds of others. This convincing of the soul does not stop with the presence of the illness. For those people that understand God’s guidance, they are encouraged to come to our places of worship to heal the guidance given by God. God has granted us a special prayer, the Osazuke to heal God’s guidance. This opportunity also gives us further time to instruct the person on the soul, and how to purify the mind by themselves. This is how we spread our teachings to the world.
This wrong application of these special prayers is why our teachings of the soul to purify the mind are not spreading to the world. We in the church must understand what information God wants us to spread to the world, and we must understand our two special prayers. Without our understanding of the Ofudesaki, the world will continue to suffer.
教会の指導者たちは、「ようきつとめ」が私たち自身のkokoroを清めるように神にお願いする祈りだと考えています。しかし、これは正しいのでしょうか？『おふでさき』では、「ようきつとめ」は他者を救うための祈りであるように見受けられます。それは、人々が自分自身の魂の働きを理解する手助けとして、神が病を導くことを始める祈りです。人々が自分の魂を理解することで、彼らは自分のkokoroを清め始めることができます。第3章の59節と60節は、神様が私たちが教えを広めた人々に病を導き、彼らにその魂の働きを理解させるための指導を行うことを教えています。この指導は、私たちが他者のkokoroを清めるように神にお願いするシンプルな祈りを行うことによって始まります。この魂の理解を促す働きは、病の存在にとどまりません。神様の導きを理解した人々は、私たちの礼拝の場に来て、その病を癒すことが奨励されます。神様は私たちに特別な祈りである「おさづけ」を授けてくださり、その病を癒すことができます。この機会を通じて、私たちはその人に魂についてさらに教え、自分自身でkokoroを清める方法を指導することができます。これが私たちが世界に教えを広める方法です。
これらの特別な祈りを誤って適用することが、私たちの教えである「魂を清める」ことが世界に広がらない理由です。教会の私たちは、神様が私たちに広めるべき情報が何であるかを理解し、二つの特別な祈りを理解しなければなりません。『おふでさき』を理解しない限り、世界は苦しみ続けることになるのです。
