We Must Understand Our Own Soul

Just a little revision of yesterday’s post on Song 6-3 of the Mikagura-uta.

(mina sekai no)(mune no uchi)

(kagami no )(goto kuni)(utsuru nari). 6-3

All the world’s, soul’s interior,

of mirror, like the dirt (evil actions), to reflect resulting in (karma). 6-3

Tenrikyo Church Headquarter translate this as:

The innermost hearts of all in the world,

Are reflected to Me as in a mirror. 6-3

Which one is correct?

It is our own soul that monitors our behavior. It is our own soul that reflects our evil actions back to ourselves. We reap what we soul because of our own soul. It is not God that punishes us for our behavior.

If the world understood the soul, there will be peace and prosperity. God in the Ofudesaki tells us God will help us spread the message of the soul to the world. God has granted us the Youki-tsutome to do this.

What Translation is Correct?

Song 6-3 of the Mikagura-uta is:

(mina sekai no) (mune no uchi)

(kagami no) (goto kuni) (utsuri nari).

Tenrikyo Church Headquarter translates this as:

The innermost hearts of all in the world,

Are reflected to Me as in a mirror. 6-3

But is this correct translation? Could it be translated as:

All the world’s. soul interior,

of mirror, like the dirt (negative fates), to be reflected resulting in (karma). 6-3

It is the soul that monitors our behavior. We reap what we have sowed because of our own soul.

Which translation is correct?

Can the Osazuke heal any Illness?

This is a post I have posted in the past that you may find interesting

What if we could cure every illness like cancer with the sazuke. Our religion would spread like wild fire, with donations coming without any end, with great  temples and churches built to accomodate all the people coming to cure their illness. But we know that the sazuke does not cure all diseases, and some may even say that it is not effective.
Like the Youki-tsutome, are we using the sazuke as intended by God? Remember the Youki-tsutome is not a prayer asking God to sweep away our negative thoughts, but it is a prayer asking God to help sweep the dusts of other people. The sazuke is not intended to cure illness that are present. So we cannot go to hospitals to cure patients by administering the sazuke to them. It will not be effective on them. So who is the sazuke effective on?
The sazuke is effective to the people we have spread God’s teaching of the soul, pure mind, and God’s guidance to help one understand the soul to purify the mind. By our performance of the youki-tsutome, God then places illness as guidance to these people, to convince them of the truth of their own soul. God by these guidance is showing people the negative thoughts in their minds. It is these thoughts that they will likely act upon, resulting in the creation of their negative fate, which the soul collects, stores, and eventually manifest as suffering when the right opportunity arises.  God by these guidance, is showing people what their own soul does, when they act upon their evil thoughts. So it is important to tell these people that God may place illness on their bodies. When these people understand God’s guidance that they receive, they will come to our places of worship to be healed of their illness. This is the opportunity when the sazuke becomes effective. We perform the sazuke on them, and inform them more about the soul and how to purify their minds.  This is how God’s truth of the soul is spread to the world. Yes the sazuke is effective when used as a method to spread the truth of the soul!

Steps to Save Others

In the Ofudesaki, God tells us how to save people. First we must purify our own minds. Then spread the teachings to others. Afterwards to perform the Youki-tsutome asking God to help these people sweep their negative thoughts. God when accepts our prayer, will place illness as guidance to help these people understand their own soul to purify their own minds. The following is from the Ofudesaki concerning God’s guidance that appears when we perform the Youki-tsutome:

Little by little, marvelous people (with illness from God’s guidance), are seen to exist.

Who by your eyes, this is not seen? 4-10

How delightful, of many people will, assemble.

Heaven’s gift (to heal their illness), saying to come. 4-12

When these people come to our places of worship, we perform the Osazuke on them. They are healed, and we further inform them of the teachings to purify the mind. The osazuke only heals God’s guidance. It does not heal existing illnesses.

Where to first spread the teachings

It is interesting in the Ofudesaki, that God tells us to spread the teaching to the high places (kami taru). But to me it appears that we as a church are trying to spread it the the people in the low places (poor people). We go out to establish teachings in Kenya, and other poor countries, which is not bad but we are not following the instructions in the Ofudesaki.

Kono michi of kami e nuketaru koto naraba                         juuyozizai no hataraki o suru.   10-100

This path, the high places going through, the condition if so,                                                                                                       free and unlimited blessing’s work to do.

Harvest of New Members to Save

I know that where God was revealed was a small farming village. In the Ofudesaki, God talks about a harvest when we perform the Youki-tsutome. God is not talking about a harvest of crops, but God is talking about a harvest of new members to save. Yes, it is the performance of the Youki-tsutome with a pure mind that will bring upon new members to our places of worship. God places illness as guidance to these people we have spread the teachings. If they understand God’s guidance, they come to our places of worship to be healed. We then perform the Osazuke to heal them, and further teach them how to purify their minds. When the mind is pure, only health and joy will come from their souls. These people are the harvest that come to our churches, when we perform the Youki-tsutome.

Quickly, the harvest (of new members) resulting in, carry out!

The Service (Youki-tsutome) only, because hastening exist.

15-89

Comparing Translations of the Ofudesaki

I got tired of people saying that my translation of the Ofudesaki is not correct, or an interpretation, so I have also included the Tenrikyo Headquarter’s English translation. Please compare both, and see what translation is more accurate. Again I am not making any profits on my books on Amazon. My books on the Ofudesaki can be obtained on Amazon. It is the red book titled Ofudesaki by Miki Nakayama.

The Service brings Upon God’s blessings of Guidance

If one truly understands the Ofudesaki, one will realize that most of the scripture talks about God’s guidance of illness that will appear if we perform the Youki-tsutome to help people understand the soul to attain the pure mind. Again the Youki-tsutome is a prayer asking God to sweep the negative thoughts of the people we have spread the teachings to., The following is from the Ofudesaki:

This Service, this is these workings (of guidance), beginning.

This on occasion realized, by the occurrence (of guidance) to exist if so. 15-29

But Tenrikyo Church headquarter translates as:

This Service is the beginning of this world.

If only this is realized. 15-29

Again our prayer to save others is currently not utilized as intended by God. This is why our religion is not spreading to the world.

The Youki-tsutome

Church leaders tell us that the Youki-tsutome is a prayer asking God to sweep our own minds of negative thoughts, but God in the Ofudesaki tells us this Service to help others sweep their dusts or negative thoughts away by understanding their own soul. God when accepts our prayer places illness as guidance to the people we have spread the teachings to. God places illness depending on the amount and type of negative thoughts in their mind. It is these thoughts they will act upon in the future, that creates the fates that their own soul collects, stores, and eventually manifest back as suffering. God by placing illness is showing them their future in their present lives. Chapter 13 verses 10 and 11 tells us this:

From now, the mind firmly, replace (with pure mind),

God to hold, the Youki-Tsutome to perform. 13-10

To do so, that by itself quickly, and reliably,

blessings (of guidance) to reveal. This look do it. 13-11

In summary, the Youki-tsutome is a prayer to save others. Church leaders do not understand this prayer. This is why our religion and teachings are not spreading to the world.

(korekara wa) (kokoro shikkari) (irekaete)

(Kami ni motarde) (Youki-tsutome o). 13-10

(shitara nara) (sono mama suguni) (shikkari to)

(riyaku arawasu) (kore o mite kure). 13-11

Is God female?

In the Ofudesaki, God is called, Tsukihi, Oya, and also oba. Oba is translated as Grandmother. Since Oyasama (Miki Nakayama) is the mother of all human beings, God is the Grandmother. God is female? Something to ponder!
