Work as God’s Blessing

You hear of people that love to work, and they wake up in the morning eager to work. But for many of us, we attempt to prolong our sleep, and dread going to work. Daily we look at our clocks, or our smart phones, and hope that the time comes where we are on our way home. Work becomes a bad four-letter word. But does work have to be so difficult?

In Japanese, work is hataraku. Hata is near by, and raku is defined as comfortable. Work is then an activity that makes people that are nearby comfortable. Have you noticed a coworker who is always on the phone, or talking to others when he or she should be working? Does this make you comfortable? Does it make his or her supervisor comfortable? How about the person who takes advantage of government programs, and sustains him or herself by not working? It does not make the rest of us comfortable.

We can see how working hard makes others comfortable, but how does it help us? If the law of causality was effective, making others comfortable or happy brings forth joy in our own future. This is cause and effect; what one sows, one reaps. Working can become a process of guaranteeing a better future.   Working hard will usually lead to a better position in the company, but more important it will enhance your happiness due to the law of causality.

In today’s world, look at the fate of the people who do not want to work. They seek happiness in the form of drugs, gangs, gambling, and sex. These are only temporary fixes, which lead to further depression and suffering. These activities do not bring happiness to those who are nearby; then by the law of cause and effect, these activities only bring upon suffering to themselves.

Work does not have to be a four-letter word. It may be a blessing from God. A blessing that has the potential to bring upon comfort to others; but more important, happiness and joy for oneself.

Insight into my blogs

A few people have commented on where I get my information to write the blogs, and what my purpose is in writing the blogs.  It is mainly to introduce a teaching which I feel will eventually change the world. It is not a new belief, but one that needs to be reintroduced. The following is the home page to my website heaventruth.com that introduces the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki)

What causes suffering in this world? What causes illness? What causes tragedies? What causes natural disasters?  All these answers are in the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki).  The solution to our problems are also contained in the Book of Prophecy.

INTRODUCTION:

GOD DESCENDED FROM HEAVEN TO SAVE ALL MANKIND AND HAS GIVEN US THE BOOK OF PROPHECY (OFUDESAKI), WHICH CONTAINS THE INSTRUCTIONS TO PURIFY THE MINDS OF ALL MANKIND.

WE MUST FIRST UNDERSTAND CAUSALITY AND REINCARNATION, AND HOW IT AFFECTS OUR LIVES TODAY AND TOMORROW.  WE CREATE OUR FUTURE BY OUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS OF TODAY.

GOD ENCOURAGES US TO REMOVE EVIL (GREED, ARROGANCE, AND SELF LOVE) FROM OUR THOUGHTS. THIS WILL MAKE OUR MIND SPIRITED, AND BY THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSALITY BRING FORTH A PROSPEROUS AND JOYOUS FUTURE TO OURSELVES. BUT GOD TELLS US THAT TRUE JOY IS SHARED JOY.

GOD HAS GIVEN US A SPECIAL PRAYER (JOYOUS SERVICE) WHICH ENABLES GOD TO BRING PEOPLE TO US SO WE CAN TEACH THEM ABOUT CAUSALITY, AND HELP THEM SWEEP EVIL FROM THEIR MINDS.

OUR BELIEFS:

We believe in the law of causality and reincarnation. Good thoughts and actions result in joy.  Evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions result in suffering and inconveniences in the future. Cause and effect have no time limitations. The effects of our actions may not develop until the next life.

With the acceptance of our special prayer (Joyous Service), God will begin to shorten the time lapse between the cause and effect, making the relationship easier to understand. That illness or suffering may be God informing you of the misuse of your mind. God gives you a glimpse of the future by this guidance. By pondering the illness and responding positively, one has the ability to create a joyous future.

OUR PATH:

To eliminate greed, arrogance, and self-love from our own minds, thus making our special prayer receptive to God.

To pray daily with our special prayer (Joyous Service), asking God to help spread the truth of causality to the world.

To heal the people whose minds have been revealed when God guides them to us; and teach them about causality and true sincerity. True sincerity is a mind that ponders over suffering and obstacles, and accepts these inconveniences in a joyous manner. This will by the principle of causality bring forth joy in the future.

GOD’S PROMISE:

All mankind will live a joyous life with everyone helping each other.

God can heal you?

In many of the sacred books, there are accounts of miraculous healings that were performed by the prophets. Even today there are religions that advocate the healing of illness by prayer. But there are also instances where the prophets could not heal, or where God could not cure an illness. In the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), there is an incident where a request was made for the life of a child. God answered:

You say that you wish to train the child for two or three more years. But she is no longer in the hands of God. 3-60.

What are these instances where God has no control of our fate? In the Heaven’s Truth Religion (Tenrikyo), we believe in the principle of causality. Causality states that suffering and inconveniences are due to our past thoughts and actions. We reap what we sow. God usually has no control over what develops from past actions and thoughts. Some may call this fate. Fate may appear to be dark. But by the principle of causality, the positive acceptance of suffering and understanding the source of suffering also promulgates a positive fate in the future. God may not be able to stop our suffering, but we control our fate by our response to our suffering. Optimism always creates a positive fate. Remember the soul is everlasting, and does not end with our physical demise. Like what Edgar Cayce stated, we have lived many lives and in many mansions.

What are the instances where God can cure us? In the Heaven’s Truth Religion, God sometimes places illness on our bodies as guidance. Illness becomes God’s tool in sweeping evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts from our minds. When we ponder, understand causality, and are able to sweep these evils from our minds, we are susceptible to be healed.

Our religion is special in God promises us that he will help the sweep evil from the minds of the world. God has given us a special prayer (Joyous Service). By this service, God enters an individual, and distinguishes his or her mind. God purposely places illness as guidance to improve their thoughts and behaviors. If you have an illness that is not cured by medicine or doctors, consider seeking a Heaven’s Truth (Tenrikyo) church. God may be able to heal you from your present illness; but more importantly if you ponder your illness and the source, you will be able to change your future from suffering to joy by the principle of causality.

Heaven’s Truth for Dummies

Believe that God descended from Heaven to help mankind remove evil from his or her heart.

Believe in causality and reincarnation and our bodies are borrowed from God; our souls live forever.

Remove evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from one’s mind to have a joyous life (principle of causality)

Praying (Joyous Service) to ask God to bring people to us so we can share our joy with others; because true joy is shared joy.

God’s Gift to Mankind/ revised

Someone once asked me what makes the Heaven’s Truth Religion (Tenrikyo Religion) so different from other religions. I remember hesitating and trying to come up with an answer that would try to convince them of the uniqueness of our church. Thirty year later, I believe I have found the difference. I have found the answer in the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki)

God has given us a prayer to save all mankind. God promises us with this prayer, he will begin to sweep evil from the minds of all mankind. This is what is unique about this religion; God has given us the tool (prayer) that will initiate the salvation of not only ourselves, but the salvation of all of mankind. God promises us that with this prayer, the whole world will someday be swept of evil and there will only be joy. But two hundred years later, there is evil and suffering; and our religion does not grow.

Why does our religion not increase, as God has promised us? God has given us a special prayer; like any tool, we need to use it as it was intended for. The instruction manual would be a good place to start. Where do we get the instructions that would make our prayer effective? Our instruction manual is the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki). It gives us the instructions on how to use this prayer, and what makes it effective.

The Joyous Service (prayer) is God’s gift to mankind. Whether we use it, or not may determine the fate of the world. All the instructions are in the Book of Prophecy.

True Joy is shared joy

True Joy is shared joy. Some thing to ponder about

How to communicate with God

What makes our prayers effective, and answered by God? People have used incantations by spiritual figures in the past. In the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki) is the following:

Do not think that incantations or magical arts are great.

The mind’s sincerity, this is the truth. 5-44

True sincerity is the mind without greed, arrogance, and self love. This is the mind that is a conduit to God. Whether God acts on this sincere prayer involves many factors which I will write about in the future; but the initial step would be God receiving our prayer.

Evil may be contagious

Once Oyasama (foundress of the Heaven’s Truth Religion) told a follower not to confront evil people; because when confronting evil, we may ourselves collect evil. For example, when dealing with an angry person, we also may become angry. She often told her followers to set an example to others by becoming an exemplary person that is void of evil (greed, arrogance, and self love). By this process, we can show people how to live the joyous life.

In today’s world, we find our country trying to help other countries that are mired in violence, corruption, and suffering. The more we try to help, the more they resist our assistance. We become their primary excuse for their suffering; their religious leader erroneously convinces their people that their sufferings will end when we are converted or eliminated. Conversely, we ourselves become infested with evil thoughts (anger) when they attack our homeland, or our military personnel.

Instead of trying to help these foreign countries that despise us, we should continue to be a country that cares for its own people; and set an example of democracy for the world to emulate. God has blessed our country because we are free and respect the rights of others. Let our country not become the scapegoat for the suffering of others; but let us become the beacon for other countries to seek, and eventually find peace and happiness.

Our thoughts and our future.

Throughout mankind, people have written on how they suffered from a vengeful God, eventually to find a merciful loving God, and an evil Satan. This explanation is hopeful but not provable in the real world. Suppose we can use quantum physics to explain why we suffer; and place God and faith out of the equation for now.

By quantum physics, we can presume that an observer can influence the behavior of element or object. We are not talking about magic, like a magician bending a spoon by concentration. This may not be quantum physics, but more like allusion and deception.  Scientists have found out that elements and particles are affected and behave differently when outside sources are brought into the experiment. For example, in one experiment, the direction of light was affected when an observer was in the room. Does the concept of quantum physics allow us to presume that our minds may influence how elements and particles behave? If this is true, can our thoughts influence our future?

Everything is energy. Energy is never created or lost but only transferred. Our thoughts are made out of energy that gets converted to mechanical energy, like walking or talking. Suppose there are positive and negative energies, corresponding to positive and negative thoughts manufactured in the mind. These energies are placed and stored in our souls. Some will say that our souls or consciousness are also an amalgam of energies. From the soul, some of the negative energy is released inside the body, causing illness and disease. Some energy is also released outside of the body into our surroundings.  The released energy eventually interact with other energies in the environment, including energies produced by others.  The interaction of these energies then brings upon a positive or negative event affecting one or more persons. Sufferings like car accidents and terrorism may be explained by this phenomenon of negative energy stored in our souls that are released, and then eventually interacting with other negative energies. Joy or happy events may also be explained by positive energies in our souls or consciousness that interact with other positive energies. The negative energies released from 4 billion people on earth may contribute to hurricanes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. We see suffering and joy in the world and we see the actions of evil and good thoughts; could there be a relationship? Our thoughts creating our future.
