Interpretation: God, by these manifestations (guidance as illness), is showing us what our hearts do naturally for us. We reap what we have sowed.

Interpretation: God wants all of us to have the Original mind. The Original mind is a mind that has no regret, covetousness, self-love, greed, and arrogance.

Interpretation: This path is to attain the Original mind (pure mind)

Interpretation: We must first purify our own minds before God helps us spread God’s truth to others.

Interpretation: The harvest (ryuuke) refers to people that God guides to help them understand God’s teachings. These people (harvest) come to our places of worship due to our prayers to save them, and our spreading the teachings to them.

Interpretation: The blessings are God’s guidance to help others understand the heart. As emphasized in the first verse of the Ofudesaki, the knowledge of the heart is foremost to one’s salvation.

Interpretation: People did not know that blessings were provided if one had a purified mind, a mind without regret, covetousness, self-love, arrogance, and greed. When this happens, the mind becomes spirited, as opposed to depressed.
