The Body as a Thing Lent, a Thing Borrowed from God

Who controls our bodies? Many will say that we have control of our bodies. When we are healthy, we can do anything as long as we follow the laws where we live. But what happens when we get sick? So obviously we do not have ultimate control of our bodies.

In the Heaven’s Truth Church (Tenrikyo), there is a saying that the Body is a thing lent, a thing borrowed from God. It is also said that the mind only belongs to you. God does not interfere with your use of your mind. But each way you have used your mind is reflected in the body. God has provided a self regulatory mechanisms of purifying the mind. Does this sound like the law of cause and effect?

The law of cause and effect says that evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions brings forth suffering, and good thoughts and actions brings forth joy in the future. We can use our mind for evil or good; but without the function of the body which God lends us, we become helpless. It is from this knowledge of a thing lent, and a thing borrowed that we must use our minds for good, so that we can have and experience the functions of our bodies.

The World is a Mirror

The concept of reincarnation and causality is difficult to comprehend for many people. Many of the philosophers in the past have believed in these concepts. If one is prone to believe that the universe operates in a rational and scientific process, these concepts will be easy to understand.

In the Osashizu, the following verse from God:

If I say “causality,” you probably do not understand it. The entire world is a mirror. Although all human beings go through births and rebirths, each way you used your mind is accurately reflected to your body. Understand this well.  February 15, 1888

The mirror reflects our image back to our eyes, as our actions or thoughts reflect back to us in the future. But the effects of our actions are not immediate like the image reflected to our eyes from the mirror. This is why many have a difficulty comprehending causality. There is no immediate relationship seen.

Understand that what occurs to us daily is the result of our own actions, and indirectly out of God’s guidance. We can then stop blaming others for our problems, and begin to truly work on improving our future. This is done my removing evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from our hearts.  Like the mirror that reflects a true image, what occurs to us daily, is a means to gauge our spiritual maturity. If we ponder our circumstances, and remove evil from our hearts, the mirror will only reflect joy.

God’s Signs

In many religions, people claim that there are predictions in their sacred books. Most predictions are of catastrophes, of the end of the world, where the good are saved, and the evil are sent to damnation.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, there is a prediction, or at least a hope that someday all mankind will be saved. Yes, even the ones we believe are the most evil. But how are they to be saved?

The ulcer, the migraines, illness, and other disease  may be God’s guidance to help you become a better person.

I will let you know. Ailment of the eye, swelling, dizziness, and

pain are God’s guidance.  3-139

Whatever pains, sufferings, tumors,

fever, or looseness of bowel are also from dusts (paths of mistaken mind). 4-110

When you ponder over your illness, and remove evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from your hearts, God will remove these inconveniences from your body.

As many look to the heavens for God’s signs, God may already be guiding us to a joyous life of everyone helping each other. Look for God’s signs!

Illness as God’s Guidance

What is God’s  purpose of disease or illness? Some will say that these are God’s punishment for our sins. Others will say that illness or disease has no relationship with God. In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

Illness and pain do not exist. They are God’s hastening and guidance. 2-7

Ponder, there is nothing called illness. It is God’s road sign or warning. 3-138

I will let you know. Ailment of the eye, swelling, dizziness, and pain are God’s guidance. 3-139

Many would say that if illness or disease is God’s guidance, they would say no thank you! But suppose these are God’s message to those who search for a higher being? Could God be guiding you to remove evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from your hearts? Could the elimination of these evil lead to our salvation and a joyous world?

Summary of my blogs

GOD WILL SAVE EVERYONE IN THE WORLD

If illness or disorders appears on your body, God may be trying to guide you!  You do not have to suffer. Remove greed, arrogance, and self-love from your minds. YOUR SUFFERINGS WILL DISAPPEAR

OUR BELIEFS:

In the “Origin” that God created mankind to live a joyous life with everyone helping each other.

In the Law of “Cause and Effect”. Good thoughts and actions result in joy in the future. Evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions result in suffering in the future.

God will begin to shorten the time lapse between the cause and effect, making the relationship easier to understand.  This is God’s guidance.

OUR MISSION:

With our special prayer (joyous service),  to ask God for guidance to help the world see this relationship between our thoughts and our future.

To tell the world what God is going to do when he accepts  our special prayer (shortens the time lapse between cause and effect).

To eliminate greed, arrogance, and self-love from our minds by pondering over God’s guidance.

To spread God’s teachings by word of mouth and our healing prayers.

OUR GOAL:

To remove evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from our hearts.

All mankind to live a joyous life by helping each other.

The Wrath of God

In Greek mythology, Zeus is depicted as throwing down lightning bolts. In the Bible, God annihilates the world by flooding the earth. In the Tip of the Writing Brush is he following:

In this world, landslides, thunder, earthquakes, and great winds are all from the anger of God. 6-91

Could this anger be some sort of negative energy that is accumulated by this universe. In the Sacred Book, it is said that the Universe is the body of God.

The whole universe is the body of the Parent. 15-37

Could we as human beings be producing negative energy by our thoughts and actions? Could negative thoughts produce negative energy that is released into the universe (body of God). Suppose  this negative energy can  be converted to other forms of energy, affecting what happens in the universe. Could this negative energy reach the moon and sun, affecting our weather?

Could God’s anger be the negative energies produced by human beings? The extremes in weather are the result of these negative energies being released in the universe  in the form of earthquakes, hurricanes, and other disasters.

Consider removing evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions to produce a healthy earth. It may not be global warming that is causing changes in the weather?

The purpose of life

Why did God create mankind?  We have to know the “Origin”. More specifically, we have to find out the cause of why God created mankind, the cause and effect of the first action of the universe.

Some say God created mankind so that man would be dependent on God, and would praise and pray to him daily. We have seen religions that sacrifice animals and even humans to please the Gods. We have seen religions that commit violence and murder to appease their God. But does God want us to worship him? Is this the  purpose of our existence?

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, to find the Origin is a constant theme that is emphasized to find salvation. When we go back to the origin, we can find out God’s purpose in creating mankind. It is not the muddy oceans and the creatures that God selected as instruments of the first parents million of years ago that is important, but it is the purpose behind this idea that is paramount for us to understand.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, it is stated that God created mankind to live a joyous life with everyone helping each other. It is only when we understand this can we change the world from a selfish and arrogant society, to an altruistic and loving society.

Find not only your origin, but the origin of human beings. Find out the hopes and joys of your parents at your origin, but more important find out God’s original cause in creating human beings.  Both were meant to bring about joy.
