Praying for God’s blessings?

In the Tip of the Writing Brush,  illness and disease are called God’s blessings. But to most people, illness would not be considered blessings but would be considered a curse and inconvenience. In most  cases the inconvenience will subside with time; and in more complicated cases medicine and health care would be required to alleviate the symptoms and disease. Illness does sometimes makes one appreciative of the joy when we are healthy. But this is not the intention mentioned in the sacred book.  The following is from the sacred book:

A slight ailment of the eyes, swellings, dizziness, and pain are but the guidance of God  3-139

Could God use illness and disease as a source of cleansing of the mind? Could these negative infestations on our bodies be a means to a better future? Could God be disapproving of our thinking and actions by placing these illness on us?

It is said in the Sacred book, that when we reflect and ponder over these illnesses,  we can eliminate evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from our minds. Our illness disappears; but more important our future becomes more joyous due to the action of  law of cause and effect. Removal of  evil from your hearts, leads to joy in the future. Good actions and thoughts lead to joy. Bad actions and thoughts lead to future sufferings.

So in the future, if  illness comes upon your body, it may be God giving you a nudge, a reminder to eliminate the evils (greed and arrogance) or sins. Some will say that illness or disease is caused by virus and bacteria and have no association with God. But  it is God that places these microbes before you, and it is God that makes them multiply or decrease in numbers. It is also God that makes your body fight or accept these microbes.  God is not a bystander, but is engaged in helping us to create a joyous world with everyone helping each other?  Pray for these blessings!

Illness as God’s Blessings?

In the Tip of the Writing Brush,  illness and disease are called God’s blessings. But to most people illness would not be considered blessings but would be considered detrimental.  The following is from the sacred book:

A slight ailment of the eyes, swellings, dizziness, and pain are but the guidance of God  3-139

Could God use illness and disease as a source of cleansing of the mind? Could these negative infestations on our bodies be a means to a better future? Could God be disapproving of our thinking and actions?

It is said in the Sacred book, that when we reflect and ponder over these illnesses, that we can eliminate evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from our minds. Our illness disappears; but more important our future becomes more joyous due to the law of cause and effect. Removing  evil from your hearts, leads to joy in the future.

So in the future, if  illness comes upon your body, it may be God’s blessing to open a broad path to your happiness. Remove evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from your minds. Embrace God’s blessings!

The Evil of Arrogance

Arrogance may be the worst evil that is present in the world. Webster defines arrogance as an attitude of superiority. Without arrogance, slavery, the holocaust, and the crusades would not have occurred. Without arrogance, there will be no prejudice and abuse of other human beings.

Arrogance leads to anger and hatred. The mind contaminated with arrogance lacks the ability to comprehend facts. The arrogant mind is like a distorted mirror. The distorted mirror does not reveal the true image, as the mind that is imbued with arrogance cannot see the truth.

The recent case in Florida is a good example of the destruction of arrogance.  The victim and the defendant presumably both had arrogance, which eventually led to the death of the youth. Because of the difference in race between the two protagonists, the case became a racial issue. Without regards to the facts, arrogance caused both sides to find fault or innocence depending on race.  Eventually this arrogance has led to anger, and even violence in the streets.

In our religion, arrogance is one of the evils that we ask God to help us eliminate in our daily lives. Without arrogance, we have less anger and hatred for others. Without arrogance we have a clear mind that can see the truth.

Seeking happiness

The recent death of a popular young television star is in the headlines. He died of a lethal dose of alcohol and heroin. It is ironic that it was stated that he could not handle the demons inside of him. What was this demon he could not handle? It was fame and the wealth it brought him. But even with this wealth, he could not find happiness.

Ever since the beginning of mankind, people have been trying to find happiness. In our society, some think that wealth brings happiness. They believe that wealth can buy materials that can bring one happiness. One can travel to destinations that we can only dream of. Others seek happiness by consuming alcohol and drugs at the risk of losing their lives. Some seek positions of power to gain happiness, like politicians, military officers, and chief executive officers in business. A few seek the dark side (evil) in seeking happiness. This could include prostitution, gambling, and other illegal activities.

The entertainment business does an excellent joy in promoting how to gain happiness. We do not see family show like I love Lucy and Father Knows Best any more. But we do see young ladies revealing most of their assets, and the promiscuous lives that they lead. We see tremendous and unrealistic side affects that mesmerize the mind, but at the same time desensitize the killing of human beings. We see arrogant and self serving destructive behaviors by the main characters.  By emulating these fictional characters, can we gain happiness?

Many people try to find happiness by obtaining material possessions, and power. But like the properties of drugs, we seek more to continue to maintain the same  level of  happiness. At the end, they still do not have true happiness. It is surprising that many people think that activities like traveling, entertainment, and socializing may be ways to find happiness.  But think of the activities that surround where you are now. There are millions of insects, and billions of microbes that surround you daily. Yet like the activities of the rich and famous, where you stand will not bring you happiness.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, it is said that when we remove greed, arrogance, and self love from our hearts, we will find true joy. It is when we help others that we can find happiness that will last. Selfish pursuits only result in suffering, while altruistic pursuits result in joy. It is only when we prioritize others, can our accomplishment be joyful.

Pray For Your Enemies

The recent Florida decision, has divided some people into two factions, black and white. Most of these people are not interested in the facts, and the legal process that was involved. One side sees a white man murdering a black youth, while the other side sees a white man defending himself. With any verdict, one side is obviously disappointed and the other faction relieved that the right decision was delivered.

Factions of the population that segregate themselves by race, religion and political affiliations will never be satisfied that justice was delivered if the verdict goes contrary to their wishes, even when given an excess amount of evidence. It is this mind of a distorted mirror that hinders the understanding of truth. It is a mind that is contaminated with greed and arrogance.

Only when we remove arrogance and greed can our minds become pure like water. It is this mind that does not separate: but it is a mind that brings people together. It is a mind that is like a new mirror, a mind that reflects the truth.

It is this hope of sweeping the evils (greed, arrogance, and self love) that we pray to God. It is with this special prayer that will save all mankind. Pray not to punish your enemies, pray to help them eliminate their evils (greed, arrogance, and self love).

The Diversity of Life/revised

It is human nature that we see the difference in others to divide and cause conflict, instead of seeing the similarities and causing cohesiveness. In the recent court case in Florida, instead of seeing the case from the perspective of right and wrong,  many see it as a case of black and white. In religion, instead  getting closer to God, we separate from God by  making religion a social or political fraternity.

We are attracted to what we are familiar with, and avoid what is foreign to us. We are Black or White. We are Christians or Muslims. We are Democrats or Republicans. We are male or female. Because of these divisions, we sometimes forget that we are all human beings created by the same God. We let arrogance and greed enter our minds. We are better than others. We become bigoted and selfish. We place barriers and road blocks to separate ourselves from others that are different. But is this what God wants?

Why has God created diversity in human form. Why not every human be blond, 6 feet tall, and 175 pounds. Evolution proponents would say that the environment our ancestors arose from dictated our physical features. This may be correct, but I believe that God has given each of us an appropriate individual body conducive to our spiritual maturity. It is from this uniqueness of each individual, that we do not separate and divide; but  must assimilate the diversity to make us whole and spirited.  This path to spiritual maturity begins with the elimination of  greed and arrogance from our minds. We need to help each other to make a joyous world!

Hands together for prayer

Why do we pray with both hands together? I believe that both hands coming together symbolizes the power generated by people coming together to help each other.  It reflects the strength of the prayer when more people come together for a greater cause, than a self serving cause.

More people with clasps hands can generate a stronger prayer. If this assumption is correct, we must encourage others to pray. What do we pray for?  We pray that God helps people eliminate evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from our hearts. When this occurs, all mankind will live a joyous life with everyone helping each other. Let us put our hands together to pray.

The Power of Prayer

Throughout the world, we can see good people, but we still  see also  greed, arrogance, hatred, and suffering. In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

The present path  is covered with evil (greed, arrogance, and self love). Take up God, and begin the sweeping.  3-145

The path thereafter will be broad and clear.  Take along with you as many as you wish.  3-146

What does this mean?  Taking up God is equivalent to praying. We are praying to God to help us eliminate the evils (greed, arrogance, and self love) in the minds of the world. When God accepts our sincere prayer, God will bring people into our lives and help them sweep evil from their hearts.  With this process the world will live in joy with everyone helping each other.  The power of prayer brings people to God.

The Zimmerman case revisited

There are many people that do not believe in the law of causality. The law of causality states that good thoughts and actions brings forth joy, and evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions brings forth suffering in the future. Although the western world does not believe that there is a relationship between our thoughts and our future, the judicial system operates on this principle of cause and effect. Let us take the example of the recent George Zimmerman case.

George Zimmerman was found innocent of the murder of a young individual yesterday.  Yes the jury and the world knew for a fact that Mr. Zimmerman had killed the youth with his own gun. The jury determining the cause of the killing (effect) would determine George’s fate.

Without an actual witness viewing what had occurred prior to the shooting, the prosecution of Mr. Zimmerman would be difficult. The prosecution team wanted to prove that Mr. Zimmerman’s had a prejudice past (cause) toward African Americans.  They wanted the jury to believe that this prejudice would lead to the killing of the defenseless child.  At the conclusion of the trial, the jury could not conclude that Mr. Zimmerman was prejudice toward African Americans, or what had occurred prior to the shooting.  It is  because of this mystery of the origin (cause) that the jury had to determine a not guilty verdict.

If we are proponents of the law of cause and effect, we believe that this natural law will eventually determine the fate of Mr. Zimmerman and the youth.  The realization of this self-regulating process will eventually bring salvation to the world with everyone helping each other. Ponder over the events that occur in your lives. Ponder their origin!

Understanding what is happening

Why is it difficult for many to understand Causality or the natural law of cause and effect.  Good actions and thoughts result in joy, and evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions result in suffering in the world.  The law of cause and effect  must be comprehended before God’s original truth can be understood. God’s original truth  is that we were created to live the joyous life with everyone helping each other. When we understand this from our heart, how can we treat others with disdain and arrogance?  We need to make God’s original purpose  come true!

In summary, why is it so difficult to realize that there is a cause for every effect? It certainly is difficult to see the relationship because  the time lapse between cause and effect may be prolonged.   It is the same with the beginning of mankind. There was a cause for this herculean effort by God. The cause or purpose was to create mankind to live a joyous life. Know the origin or the cause!
