I was just cleaning my house with the vacuum cleaner. I have one of those vacuum cleaners that you can see how much debris and dust you have collected, so you can easily dispose of the debris when it is full. I am always so surprised how much dust I have collected. This leads to me to write another blog!
In our religion we call the traits of arrogance, greed, miserliness, covetousness, and self love as dusts. These dusts are attracted to us, many times without our knowledge.
In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:
Among all mankind, there is no one who is evil. It is only a bit of dust stuck on. 1-53
It is only because these dusts are imbued in our hearts that we act selfishly. The dusts are perceptible in the criminals in our society, but they may be almost imperceptible to detect in the average person. If we only had a vacuum cleaner that could sweep our dust, we may be surprised at how much dust has accumulated in our hearts.
For many it will be a difficult procedure to sweep the dusts from your hearts. Some may not even know that these dusts have permeated their hearts. That is why we need God’s help. It may sound silly, but God may be the vacuum cleaner that can help you sweep the evils from your hearts. Pray to God, and sweep greed and arrogance from your hearts.
