Adorn the Mind

In our lives, many of us try to find happiness with material wealth, including adorning our bodies with fine clothes, makeup and jewelry. In the Osashizu, and some of the religious sacred books, it is advised to adorn your mind instead of your body to find happiness.  How do we adorn the mind?  We must eliminate greed, arrogance, miserliness, covetousness, and self love from our minds. We must decorate our minds with giving, compassion, and understanding.

Material wealth is not evil in itself. But when we pursue riches in pursuit of happiness, the result usually is suffering. Adorn your minds to become spirited.
