I heard the anticipated debate on creation-evolution attended By Bill Nye, the Science Guy. Both sides would say that they had won the debate. Professor Nyle would have science to backup his theory on evolution, while the creationist quoted the Bible as a source of his truth.
What is the truth? The definition of true by Merriam Webster is: agreeing with the facts. Does evolution agree with the facts? Does creationism agree with the facts? But what is the definition of fact? The definition of fact by Webster is: something that truly exists or to have happened.
Evolution is in agreement with the scientific evidence (facts). These facts are fossil remnants of both animal and plants (they truly exists). Radioactive isotopes can determine the age of these fossils. Because these fossils exist, evolution must be true.
Creationism is in agreement with the Bible (facts). These facts are written words of the apostles (truly exist). Because these written words exist, creationism must be true.
You can imagine the stalemate that would result from the debate of this controversial issue if both sides use the definition of truth as the litmus paper in proving their theory.
It makes it difficult for the evolutionist to prove their theory, because for them to win the debate, they must first debate the inaccuracies of the bible. This debate will never occur, because the bible is the absolute truth for the creationist.
In the long run, it does not matter if the world was made in 6 days, or millions of years. Time may be irrelevant when it comes to the salvation of all mankind. But what may matter is finding out why God created mankind. Understanding God’s intentions may help us remove greed, arrogance, and self love from our minds.
