Thinking Like God.

The purpose of church is to remove greed, arrogance, and self-love. But most churches do the opposite. They show you, what wealth can bring upon, by showing you the ornate church upon your entrance. They tell you to convert the nonbelievers because they are wrong, and they tell you how important you are because God has blessed you.

Someone once said that when the self becomes less significant, we become more like God. When we remove greed, arrogance, and self-love from our minds, the self becomes less significant, and we begin the process of having a “God like mind”. What are the religions that do this? Something to ponder about…….

The Pillar and the Origin

In many religions, there is a sacred site that followers make pilgrimages to every year. The pillar or the Kanrodai is a major component of the Heaven Truth religion. What is it or what does it represent? From a religious background, it is said to represent the location where the first human beings were created. From the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), it represents the original parent that created mankind. We call this person Oyasama.

What do you think of this Stand?

It is the Parent of Nihon 10-22

The pillar is said to be able to distinguish how we are using our minds. It is said to distinguish between good and evil.

Among the high mountains, the distinction between those

of good and those of evil will be made also by the Pillar. 2-46

I believe that God uses this location to compare our minds with the purity of the original mind of the parent (Oyasama). During Oyasama’s presence on this earth, the pillar and Oyasama both represented God’s origin of mankind. People came to this location and Oyasama to be saved. This is why to the Tenrikyo people, making a pilgrimage to Ojiba in Japan is one of the most important actions in receiving salvation.

But in January 26, 1887, the world changed forever. Oyasama passed away. What does this mean? The following is from the Osashizu:

All that I have said until now was put into a container of truth. But now God has opened the portals and stepped out.

Oyasama now becomes the moving pillar, helping God distinguish good from evil throughout the world. The pilgrimage to Ojiba Japan becomes secondary, because Oyasama helps us distinguish good and evil throughout the world. The world becomes one step closer in realizing the Joyous life.

Why God can’t heal me

There are illnesses that God cannot heal, even with our sincere prayers. Some may call this fate, and others call karma, innen or causality. But there are illnesses that God can heal. Throughout time, our sacred books have revealed miraculous healings that were brought forth with prayer and one’s sincerity. What are these illnesses that God can heal?

Be aware that I have attributed the healings to God. I believe that we heal others through God, and it is God that actually heals. What are these illnesses that God can heal? It is said in the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki) that God gives us guidance sometimes in the form of illness, or misfortunes. Illnesses that are a result of God’s guidance can be healed. The following:

Illness and pain throughout the world; you do not know

that these are the road signs or guidance of God. 2-23

There is nothing in this world that should be called illness.

Whenever there is a disorder of the body, everyone ponder. 2-23

I will let you know. Ailment of the eye, swelling, dizziness, and

pain are God’s guidance. 3-140

Illness as a result of God’s guidance is a result of our sincere prayer. Are we praying for people to get sick? No, we are asking God to bring people who are seeking God to us so we can introduce them to causality. With our sincere prayers, God places illness on their bodies according to their minds. With our sincere prayer, we can heal these illnesses with God’s help. It is again God that brings these people into our lives, and it is through God that we can heal them with our sincere prayer. It is through this process that we learn that it is the mind and not the body that we must cure, for our lives to be prosperous and joyous.

If you wish to be healed, please contact a Heaven’s Truth Church (Tenrikyo), or remove greed, arrogance, and self-love from your hearts. Your illness may be God’s guidance!

Opening the Portal to Save the World

The 26th is an important date in our religion, because the portal was opened to save all mankind. What does this mean?

Open the portal means to have the Joyous Service become effective, making it possible to bring more people into the religion. Oyasama makes this happen. In the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki) is the following:

What do you think of this Stand?

It is the Parent of Nihon 10-22

Among the high mountains, the distinction between those

of nihon and those of kara will be made also by the Pillar. 2-46

Oyasama (pillar) helps distinguish our minds, so that God can give us his free and unlimited blessings in the form of illness. This process makes people realize the law of causality and the relationship of the mind and the body. Before the 26th, the prayer (Joyous Service) was not effective in bringing in followers to save. This is why after the passing away of Oyasama, there was an enormous growth of the church. Oyasama is helping God distinguish our minds by our sincere prayer.

But it is said that weeds have grown and obscured this path. Our prayer (Joyous Service) is not effective because we have greed, arrogance, and self love in our minds. The religion is stagnant in growth. Many in the church also place more emphasis on the Yorozuyo and the 12 songs, then the prayer for world salvation (Joyous Service). We place more emphasis on ceremony than our special prayer (Joyous Service) to save the world. Oyasama and God await our sincere prayer, so that the whole world can understand the truth of God. When this happen, the world will see joy and prosperity for all.

We see, but we do not understand

What is causality? It is cause and effect. What ever happens, there is an effect. It is like the law of gravity, what ever goes up, it must come down (on earth). The law of causality states that good thoughts and behavior result in joy, while evil thoughts and behavior results in suffering. No matter how much we suffer now, causality gives us the opportunity to plant seeds for a joyous future. We must remove greed, arrogance, and self love from our minds, and help others.

Science cannot determine what causes joy or suffering. We see suffering and joy; and we see kindness and cruelty in the world today. Is there a relationship? In the Book of Prophecy (Ofudeski), God tells us that we do not understand. What is it that we don’t understand? We do not understand causality. We see, but we do not understand.

Does God Need Praise?

Does God need praise? I was pondering over the translation of the word “namu” in reference to our prayer for world salvation. Praise O’ Universal Saving God. At first, I had translated the word namu to praise God; but then I thought to myself does God need praise? Who needs praise in this world? It is the conceited people, the dictators, and the charlatans of the world that need praise. Throughout history, we bowed to the emperors, the kings, and tyrants of the world. Eye contact sometimes meant certain death. Even today, there are religions that prostrate to God. Is this necessary?

Then how do we translate the word namu? In the dictionaries namu is translated as amen, or an acknowledgement. Could the word namu be a formality to connect with God, like starting the prayer with Dear God? Let me know your thoughts on if God needs praise, or what the term namu means.

Who is this person?

There was a person who was sent by God. This person saved thousands of people by miraculous healings. The authorities and other religious leaders persecuted this person. This person gave all physical possessions to the poor, and advocated the helping of all mankind. This person predicted his or her own demise. This person promised that he or she would return after death to save all mankind. Who is this person? Many would say he is Jesus Christ, and they would be right. But there was also another person by the name of Miki Nakayama who we call Oyasama that accomplished all these feats. Unlike the Bible that was written by a few different authors, Oyasama wrote the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), which contains Heaven’s truth. This book predicts that all mankind will eventually live a joyous life by helping each other.

Illness as God’s Guidance

What is the purpose of these pandemic like smallpox, cholera, and now Ebola? Why does God inflict these sufferings on people? It is interesting that there is a verse in the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki) that addresses the illness of cholera that was rampant in the nineteen-century, killing millions of people.

The world is saying that it is cholera, but

it is God showing his regret. 14-23

Can God be expressing his disappointment in mankind? Can the violence and evil perpetrated by mankind today be manifested as illness? Another verse from the Book of Prophecy:

What ever I do to the body,

it is not an illness but the guidance of God. 14-21

Can God be guiding us with these illnesses? Science and medicine have almost eliminated cholera, but other diseases continue to arise, like the ebola virus. A thought to ponder:

The world is saying that it is Ebola, but

it is God showing his regret.

Why We Seek Religion

Why do people seek religion? Many religions gives people answers that they want to hear, like God loves them, and protects them. It reassures them of the rewards that exist after death. It requires one to have faith in the unknown (Heaven). This is why evangelists fill out large auditoriums. They exude hope in exchange for one’s faith in a belief. It requires little effort and commitment from the congregation. This is opposite of the Heaven’s Truth Religion. In the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), it states that the path of God is a difficult path. It is a path of causality. Good thoughts bring upon joy, and evil thoughts and actions result in suffering. It requires one to ponder over whatever happens. It requires one to remove greed, arrogance, and self love from the mind whenever confronted with difficulties. It is difficult because it requires both faith and action.

In conclusion, the world suffers because most religions teach of faith and hope, instead of faith, understanding and action. It requires efforts to purify our minds when confronted with suffering or inconveniences. It is a path of “Work in progress”.

The Theory of Regrution

The opposition of reincarnation will argue that the population of the world increases every year. Where were the seven billion souls that exist today? The believers of reincarnation will counter that evolution is the process by which souls are created from lower species. This is why the population of the world increases daily.

If one believes in evolution and reincarnation, is it possible for humans to regress to a lower species in the animal world. May we rephrase this as “regrution”, the regression of a soul to a lower species? What would cause a soul to return in a lower animal form? In the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki) is the following

Think about the present concept of future paths to cows.

Let all of you in high places beware. 4-18

Until now there has been much talk of rebirth as oxen or horses,

but there has been no one who knows his past or future. 5-1

If you let your debts (sins) pile up,

a path of oxen and horses will finally appear. 8-54

What does God do with these people who cause sufferings to others? Many believe that they will go to hell or damnation. Regrution may be the process by which God deals with the most evil?
