What is the hardest thing for a human being to do? Some world say it is to apologize. But I would say it is to forgive someone. Why is forgiveness so difficult for human beings? To forgive someone requires one to eliminate arrogance from one’s mind. Arrogance is a difficult evil to remove from our hearts.
How many times in life have you thought you were right, and the other person was wrong? But did we have all the information to make that judgment? Probably not, but we became judge, jury, and sentenced the person to banishment from further communication. It is this lack of complete information that we will never have that makes us human. We do not have access to everyone’s thoughts and past experiences. When we hold grudges , its shows our arrogance. Disapproval and disagreement are not vices, but when emotions of anger, and grudge bearing emerge, then arrogance may be present.
To forgive someone does not free the other person from guilt or blame. But it may begin to free you from the evil of arrogance. When arrogance is gone from your mind, anger and grudge bearing are less likely to appear. Your mind becomes pure, and your future becomes joyous. Forgiveness is the beginning of the Joyous world! Pray and ask God to give you the heart to forgive others.
