I often view the sermons given now by only church leaders at the Los Angeles Dendocho Church. These are good people, but they often talk about how they deal with their life crisis, but do not talk about how to spread God’s teachings that are given in the Ofudesaki.
For example, in the last sermon, the speaker talks about a quote given in a children’s movie, Kung Fu Panda, that he recommends we follow. The quote is, “Yesterday is the past, tomorrow is unknown, but today is a gift.” What does this mean? He tries to explain it, but again, is this information in the Ofudesaki?
How do we live the Joyous life that God instructs in the Ofudesaki? Again, the instructions are in the Ofudesaki. How do we spread the teachings to the world? Again, the instructions are in the Ofudesaki.
God is trying to help us spread the teachings to the world, but we do not understand or refuse to understand the instructions in this most sacred scripture.
I leave you with the last three verses of the Ofudesaki, which the Church leaders misinterpret.
(Sato sato ta-oto) (ta-oto byou sama) (byou sama) — 17:73
Discern discern do respond, do respond illness appearance, illness appearance.
(Kono hanashi) (aizu tateyai) (deta naraba) (nani ni tsuitemo) (mina kono touri) — 17:74
This talk, the signal establishing, appeared, if so, by what acquiring also (guidance acquired from God), all this truth (of what thoughts are in the mind).
This God, everyone the mind, ponder (of negative thoughts) of to request.
To summarize, God is telling us to perform the Youki-tsutome. This is a special prayer asking God to help us convince people of God’s teachings that are in the Ofudesaki.
God does this by placing illness as guidance, reflecting the amount and kind of negative thoughts in a person’s mind. It is these thoughts that the person will act upon, creating negative fates that their own soul collects, stores, and eventually distributes back to the person as suffering when the right opportunity arises. This opportunity may not appear until their next lives.
God, by placing illness, is showing them their future if they do not remove their negative thoughts. If they understand God’s guidance, they come to our places of worship. We perform the Osazuke on them to heal their illness, and further inform them of the teachings.
This is how God helps us spread the teachings to save the world. But do we understand the purpose of the Youki-tsutome and the Osazuke?
Again, we as a church do not have to look elsewhere. The instructions are all in the Ofudesaki!
