Tenrikyo /Religion is Easy to Understand

Religion appears to be so simple to understand. Avoid the evils of life, like greed, arrogance and self love, and you will have a great future. This future is not about carnal pleasures that many seek. It is a future of becoming spirited, and joyous. It is a mind that is content and happy. This future may be eternity in Heaven, or heaven on earth.

But unfortunately most people live for the moment and seek the carnal pleasures of life, like money, big houses, drugs, sex, and power. These pleasures are only temporary, and will not satisfy our quest for true joy. Don’t get me wrong, big houses and riches are not evil by themselves, but many gain these temporary possessions by utilizing greed, arrogance, and self love. These are the wrong tools in gaining our ethereal possessions. Unfortunately, many religions incorporate our carnal pleasures in describing the after life. They expose the after life as floors paved with gold, servants that work for us, and the gardens of plentiful fruits that wait to be harvested. But again, as proven on earth, physical possessions do not bring upon happiness. It is the mind that is void of greed, arrogance, and self love that brings upon our happiness. It is this mind that brings upon God’s blessings of heaven on earth.

Finding God’s Truth

This is why we in each of our religions must uncover what is true or untrue. God has given us the ability to reason. Somewhere in each of our religious sacred books are the truths of God that will make the mind pure, and the heart whole again. We change the world, one person at a time, beginning with oneself.

Tenrikyo /Illness as God’s Guidance

No parent wants his or her child to suffer in life. But what happens when a child begins to become evil. They sell drugs, they take what is not theirs, they lie, etc.… We still love them, but what can we do to change them? This is what God faces since his creation of mankind. God sees the path of the evil, whether the path ends in suffering on earth as causality and reincarnation proposes, or hell that the western religions prognosticate.

How do we make our children aware of their misconduct when they are little? We often punish them with minor inconveniences, like time outs, or taking some of their little pleasures away (television and toys). But what does God do? God also gives us little warnings or inconveniences like illness on our bodies. That heart palpation may be God guiding you.

I will let you know. Ailment of the eye, swelling, dizziness, and

pain are God’s guidance. 3-140 (Book of Prophecy/Ofudesaki)

This is not an unfair punishment for God to give us, a little inconvenience now for a better future, whether it is heaven, or a joyous life on earth. But what happens when these warnings or guidance are ignored by us? More to come……………

What are the criteria for which God holds us responsible? What are the traits and characteristics that will lead us to heaven or a joyous life on earth? In the heaven’s Truth Church (Tenrikyo), we are told to have a pure mind without greed, arrogance, or self love; and conduct our behavior from this mindset. When this occurs, we by the principle of causality guarantee ourselves of a joyous future.

But what happens when we ignore God’s guidance? It’s just a cold, its just indigestion, its just that I’m tired, etc.…… If we do not ponder over the illness, and relegate it as a physical occurrence, we may be ignoring God. If we continue to ignore God’s warnings, God will eventually withdrawal from the individual (no more illness), leaving him or her to continue on the path of future sufferings by the natural law of causality. It is because of his love for his children that God places illness on us. These illnesses are  his  guidance to help us  remove greed, arrogance and self love from our minds.

Tenrikyo /The Blame Game

heaventruth's avatarOFUDESAKI-GOD'S TEACHINGS

There are religions that continue to grow, while there are religions that are stagnant, losing membership due to the older generation dying out. But what makes a church grow? How do we bring in new members? We can promise potential members paradise and joy. But what do they have to do to gain entry into heaven? Churches that blame external forces (satan) or others for our sufferings; and focus on forgiving them, converting them, or even eliminating them are more easily adaptable to the masses. On their part, they only need to acknowledge, sacrifice, or praise God to enter paradise in afterlife. Tenrikyo /The Blame Game

Religions that make it easier for the individual, which is the blame game, will have the largest congregations and donations. Religion is like a business, which guarantees paradise. What motivates and energizes and brings more people in than the blame game?

This blame game does not only take place in religion, but it takes place in our daily lives. For example, there was a case where a child died because of a tooth infection that developed into a major infection. The focus of the investigation was on why there was no dentist that was available to treat this patient; and the parents of the child were shown on television angry and blaming the health system for their child’s death. Who cannot feel for these parents who lost an innocent child; but whose responsibility was it to prevent this infection? Where were the parents when the child went to sleep without brushing his teeth? Where were these parents when the child first complained of pain? It is easier to blame others than to look within for the solution.

Enter the Heaven’s Truth Religion (Tenrikyo). This is a religion that believes that to improve the world, we must first look within ourselves when confronted with problems that we encounter daily. We find the solutions for our problems by looking within our selves, or our hearts. By looking within, we are talking about purifying our minds of greed, arrogance, and self-love. By reflecting on these dusts, we can improve our behavior when confronted with suffering or inconveniences.   This by the principle of causality (karma, innen) will bring forth joy in our future. We control our future by our thoughts and behavior of today. This I believe is an Eastern Religion concept.

But it is difficult to look within, when it is easier to blame an external force for our problems. This is why our church is having difficulty in gaining members. But God promises us that the world will be joyous with everyone helping each other. He has given us a special prayer, the Joyous Service, which accepted by God, will bring new members to our churches. By ourselves, we will have a difficult time gaining growth in our religion because we do not play the blame game, but with our special prayer and God, this world will become heaven on earth with everyone helping each other.

We Do Not Understand God

GOD DESCENDED FROM HEAVEN TO SAVE ALL MANKIND.  HE HAS GIVEN US A SPECIAL PRAYER (JOYOUS SERVICE), WHICH IF ACCEPTED BY GOD WILL BRING PEOPLE TO OUR CHURCHES TO BE SAVED. BUT MANY IN THE CHURCH STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE PURPOSE OF THIS PRAYER. THEY PLACE CEREMONIAL CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS OVER THE INTENT OF THIS PRAYER.  THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE BOOK OF PROPHECY (OFUDESAKI), WHICH EXPLAINS HOW GOD WILL SAVE MANKIND BY THIS PRAYER.

Though I have made it known to you step by step by the writing brush (Ofudesaki),

you have no understanding. This is God’s regret. 4-47

WE NEED TO READ AND UNDERSTAND GOD’S  WORDS; AND SHARE OUR SPECIAL PRAYER WITH THE WORLD!

What causes suffering in this world? What causes illness? What causes tragedies? What causes natural disasters?  All these answers are in the Book of Prophecy (Fudesaki).  The solution to these problems are also contained in the Book of Prophecy.

INTRODUCTION:

GOD DESCENDED FROM HEAVEN TO SAVE ALL MANKIND AND HAS GIVEN US THE BOOK OF PROPHECY (FUDESAKI), WHICH CONTAINS THE INSTRUCTIONS TO SAVE ALL MANKIND.

GOD ASKS US TO UNDERSTAND CAUSALITY AND REINCARNATION; AND UNDERSTAND HOW THEY AFFECT OUR LIVES TODAY AND TOMORROW.  WE CREATE OUR FUTURE BY OUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS OF TODAY.

GOD ENCOURAGES US TO REMOVE EVIL (GREED, ARROGANCE, AND SELF LOVE) FROM OUR THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIORS. THIS WILL MAKE OUR MINDS SPIRITED, AND BY THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSALITY BRING FORTH JOY  TO OURSELVES. BUT GOD TELLS US THAT TRUE JOY IS SHARED JOY. HOW DO WE SHARE JOY WITH OTHERS?

GOD HAS GIVEN US A SPECIAL PRAYER (JOYOUS SERVICE) WHICH ASKS GOD TO GUIDE PEOPLE TO US SO WE CAN TEACH THEM ABOUT CAUSALITY, AND HELP THEM SWEEP EVIL FROM THEIR MINDS.

OUR BELIEFS:

We believe in the law of causality and reincarnation. Good thoughts and actions result in joy.  Evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts and actions result in suffering and inconveniences in the future. Cause and effect have no time limitations. The effects of our actions may not develop until the next life.

With the acceptance of our special prayer (Joyous Service), God will begin to shorten the time lapse between the cause and effect, making the relationship easier to understand. That illness or suffering may be God informing you of the misuse of your mind. God gives you a glimpse of the future by this guidance. By pondering the illness and responding positively, one has the ability to create a joyous future.

OUR PATH:

To eliminate greed, arrogance, and self-love from our own minds, thus making our special prayer receptive to God.

To pray daily with our special prayer (Joyous Service), asking God to help spread the truth of causality to the world.

To heal the people whose minds have been revealed when God guides them to us; and teach them about causality and true sincerity. True sincerity is a mind that ponders over suffering and obstacles, and accepts these inconveniences in a joyous manner. This will by the principle of causality bring forth joy in the future.

GOD’S PROMISE:

All mankind will live a joyous life with everyone helping each other.
