God’s Special Prayer Revised

Why do most of our prayers fail? We hear of people who pray and they are given miraculous healings; but this is only a small minority. Statistically a small percentage will recover from a terminal illness. These miracles may not be the result of our prayer. Then why pray at all?

In the Heaven’s Truth Church (Tenrikyo), there are two things that must occur before our prayers our answered by God. We must be on the same frequency or mindset as God. This is a mind that is void of greed, arrogance, and self love. The second criteria is that the purpose of the prayer (intention) must coincide with God’s original purpose for the creation of mankind. In the Tip of the Writing Brush, it is stated that God created all mankind to live the joyous life.

We have a special prayer called the “Joyous Service” asking God to help others. It is this prayer that when we perform it without greed, arrogance, and self love, that God answers. God brings people to us so we can teach them this special prayer so that they can also pray for others. By the propagations of this service, it is foretold that eventually all mankind will live the joyous life.

This prayer unlike other religious prayer is not to acknowledge and glorify God, or a prophet. It is not about a master servant relationship, but more like a parent child relationship. We are asking God to help others. There is a true purpose in the Joyous Service. The Joyous Service becomes a means to communicate with God our desire for a joyous life for all mankind.

The path to world salvation

In the Heaven’s Truth Religion (Tenrikyo), there is a path that God tells us to take for the salvation of mankind. I have placed my interpretation of this path below. I was wondering if other religions have a path that is easy to understand?

THE PATH

PATH TO WORLD SALVATION

path2 copy

  1. Praying to God (Joyous Service) to decrease the time lapse between the “cause and effect”. This makes it easier to understand the relationship between our mind and body (causality).
  2. God accepting our sincere prayer and begins to bring people to us. God enter into them and reveals their minds. Illness and disorders are manifested on the body.
  3. People seeking help and God.
  4. Cure illness, and teach about causality.
  5. Ponder about what has happened and causality
  6. God’s teachings of the sacred book, the prayer (service) and the origin are given.
  7. Greed, arrogance, and self love are eliminated from the mind.

Why is my child gone?

Just recently saw a show in Las Vegas called the Jersey Boys. If you can stand going through the smoked filled casino, I would recommend this show. One poignant part of the show was when the main character finds out that his daughter dies of an overdose. He blamed it on the drug dealers, but I believe there is more to the story. I thought it would be interesting to play out the two sides of every story concerning a parent and a child.

When I saw her first, she was daddy’s girl. The cutest and most beautiful baby in the world. As she grows up, she begins to blossom as a person. We need to talk to her about adult things, but we have more time, maybe next year.

I am very nervous about my appointment with Planned Parenthood; but I hear all the kids go there for contraceptive. I fill out a few questionnaires, and some person with a white coat looks me over, and gives me a prescription for contraceptive. I ask if my parents would find out, and they tell me that my parents have no rights to stop me from having sex, or taking contraceptives. They tell me that it is best to not have sex, but everyone does it according to government statistics. I ask what would God think of premarital sex, and the blond woman sitting on the desk said, “ God brought you here”, as she took the completed questionnaire from another teenager.

I get a letter from an ambulance service with an invoice for a service on my daughter. I call her up asking why she needed an ambulance. She states that her friends and her were out eating, when she got food poisoning. She says she was embarrassed about it and did not call us. She said not to worry. I told her I was happy she is well but to give us a call when she needs us. I wonder if it was food poisoning. Yes, it must have been. I will talk to her later on.

I am at a local clinic on my drug addiction concerning my alcohol and drug addiction. I tell them that my parents are never to know about it. They guarantee me that they will never know, and that parents usually make the situation worse. They tell me that government knows what is best for the patient. I want to ask more questions, but they tell me my appointment time is over, since they need to see more patients to receive government funding. I wonder what the bleep????

As I see my daughter’s lifeless body, I wonder what happened, and how we grew so far apart. These evil drug dealers took her away from me. They have taken away my plan for a father daughter conversation, about politics, about religion and God, and most of all about drugs and alcohol that destroy our lives. Yes these evil drug dealers are all at fault.

The script of the soul

Suppose our future is written before we are born. Like the genetic code that determines our physical characteristics, this information is stored in each individual. Some would say that this is their fate that appears, and there is nothing one can do to change the future. This may be the case. For many of us this thought of helplessness brings upon depression and anger.

But who writes our script of our lives? Is it God who is testing our resolve? Is it the devil that places suffering in our lives? Is it entropy or randomness and disorder that determine the fate of the human race?

Suppose we determine our own future. Good thoughts and actions result in joy, and evil thoughts and behavior result in suffering. These negative or positive energies are some how stored in each individual, and reflected back to us as suffering or joy. Some would say that this is about cause and effect, with the effect not showing up until our next lives. Each of our sins we commit, we are accountable for.

But unlike the people that say that causality is about helplessness, and suffering, there is the other side and it is about joy. No matter how we suffer now, we can bring upon joy and happiness by our actions of today. We write our own future. Instead of feeling anger and depression at what arises, remove greed, arrogance and self love from your minds. This will guarantee you of a joyous life in the future. God has given us an open canvass to paint our own future.

Still today, there are people that cause suffering to others. They do not understand that they are hurting themselves. They are planting their own seeds of suffering. They see suffering and joy in the world, but they do not understand.

The Prayer to Save All Mankind

What do we do when we believe that some one is trying to place harm on us? Today we see evil people that kill in the name of their religion. The civilize world attempts to kill or capture these terrorist, but more come forward to continue their evils.

In the Heaven’s Truth Church, there was one incident where a band of religious zealots began to destroy the religious instruments and artifacts of our church and threatened the church members. But instead of having animosity and hatred toward the instigators, the foundress prayed for their salvation. From this incident, we have a special prayer asking God to help these people realize their error.

It is obvious that we cannot destroy the evils that dwell in the minds of mankind by ourselves. We must depend on God to help the evil become good. The Joyous Service is this special prayer that will help the evil mend their minds. With God’s help, the world will have true joy with everyone helping each other.

The writing brush that predicts the future

Many people believe that the sacred books besides trying to explain the purpose of life, also predict the future. Many times, the future is said to be with much chaos, and catastrophe, resulting in the salvation of a few, and the destruction of many souls.

In the Heaven’s Truth religion (Tenrikyo), we also have a sacred book called the Tip of the Writing Brush (Ofudesaki). This book also explains the purpose of life (to live a joyous life with everyone helping each other). But like the other sacred books, it also predicts the future. But the outcome is not chaos, or the destruction of the world. The outcome is world peace with everyone living the joyous life.

How would this joyous life for all occur? It is predicted that God will begin to work, as he did when he created human beings. The plan is all in the Tip of the Writing Brush. The word Ofudesaki in Japanese can be separated into fude and saki. Fude is translated at a writing brush, and saki is the future. It is a writing brush that predicts the future. The Tip of the Writing Brush is a book that predicts the future; and the future is good for mankind.

Pray for your enemies

What do we do with evil people? Many people would want them eliminated. Looking at past history, man has attempted to eliminate evils. Examples include the elimination of certain evil people, like Hitler, Saddam Hussein, and Bin Ladin. But despite these retributions, evil people continue to emerge. The evil regimes of the Nazis and the Camo Rouge have been destroyed, but evil groups like ISSIS in the Middle East have emerged. It is obvious that we cannot destroy evil. Then what are good people to do?

In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following

Among all mankind, there is no one who is evil.

It is only a bit of dust stuck on. 1-53

These dusts are greed, arrogance, and self love.

God tells us to pray for the salvation of these people that have the dusts of greed, arrogance, and self love. It is God who will help these people understand their wrong doings. It is God that will sweep their evils away. Instead of wishing ill will on these people, we must pray with true sincerity to help these people understand God’s heart. When God enters them, they will eventually become good.

Going back to your roots

heaventruth's avatarOFUDESAKI-GOD'S TEACHINGS

What is the cause of why something happens? A house is damaged in a storm. What caused the damage? A tree fell on the house. A man was shot and killed. What caused his death? A car ran over him while he was crossing the street. These are both examples of cause and effect. There is said to be a cause for every effect. This is like the law of gravity, nature’s law.

Can we attribute suffering and joy to causality. What causes sufferings and joy in this world? Can we find a cause? Why do some people have more suffering than others? Can this be coincidence, like a roll of the dice: or can it be God’s will? We can also ask, why do some people have happy lives? Is our destiny on earth determined by God, or is it based on statistics. What are the chances of being…

Going back to your roots

What is the cause of why something happens? A house is damaged in a storm. What caused the damage? A tree fell on the house. A man was killed.

What are the chances of being hit by a car? And if God causes our suffering, why are the reasons. Is it God’s punishment?

There are religions that believe in God’s punishment. They believe that they are carrying out God’s punishment. They cause suffering and death, and claim it was God’s will. Like an oxymoron, to kill in the name of God does not make sense to many of us.

But suppose suffering and joy are caused by our own minds and behavior. We cause our own sufferings and joy. What a self-sufficient way to purify our minds; because with over 7 billion people on earth, it would be difficult for God to oversee everyone. What if every thought or action we are accountable for? Every thought and action manifest itself back to us in the future, often waiting for us in our next lives. Our thoughts and behavior of today foretells our future. We write our own future of joy or suffering.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush (Ofudesaki), we are reminded to go back to the “Origin”, the beginning of mankind. This is the original causality. The original causality states that mankind was created by God to live the Joyous Life. When we go back to the origin, we find that the cause of the creation of mankind was God. We find a loving God that wants to save all his children.
