The Journey taken before

It is said that there is an explanation for every occurrence. For every action, there is a reaction. This is why we look for past evidence when a crime occurs. Is there also an explanation why suffering or joy occurs? We can definitely see a source of the suffering when someone inflicts pain on us. But where is the source when we suffer from illness or inconveniences in our lives? Where is the source when an infant suffers? In the Osashizu is the following:

Look at how causality (suffering or joy) is working in the world, and you will see the journey taken before. January 30, 1892 Instructions (Osashizu)

Looking at the world today, we see joy and suffering. Is there a path to joy? Is there a path to suffering? Can evil thoughts and actions lead to one’s suffering; can good thoughts and actions result in joy and happiness? What prevents us from seeing this relationship? It is time. The effects of our actions may not occur in the present life. It may manifest in the next life.

Accepting the concept of reincarnation allows one to admit our fallacy as human beings. We have all sinned, and may continue to suffer for our misuse of our minds. No matter how much we suffer today, causality provides us a path to joy in the future. It provides a path to purify our minds of greed, arrogance, and self-love. Suffering provides us opportunities to reflect and ponder. If we respond positively to our sufferings, only joy will blossom in the future. If we respond negatively, the cycle of suffering will continue. Again, we understand the joy or suffering today by the verse:

Look at how causality is working in the world, and you will see the journey taken before. January 30, 1892 Instructions (Osashizu)

The Distorted Mirror

It is almost impossible to have a reasonable discussion about religion or God with someone who believes that his or her sacred book is factual.   He or she relates everything from the perspective of the ancient book. Many times fact and reason become secondary to the truth in their sacred book. Ironically, these religious people often attempt to prove their views by the process of rational reasoning. The only problem is that they begin and end with the premise that the contents of their sacred book are fact.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

Though I have gathered many and varied followers,

those that are like a distorted mirror will not do. 3-50

The distorted mirror does not reflect the true image of oneself. It is like the mind that does not see the true world. Sometimes religion becomes dangerous because the distorted mirrors may actually be the sacred books.

Fact or Fiction

In the July issue of Cognitive Science, it was found that young children who are exposed to religion have a hard time differentiating between fact and fiction. It is not surprising since many believe the contents of the bible to be fact. The splitting of the Red Sea, Noah’s Ark, and other unnatural events are written in the bible. We are living in a world that operates on facts; yet many believe that our sacred books are factual, and that evolution is fiction.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, it is written that this world is based on reason.

This is a world constructed on reason

So I shall press upon you everything with the reason in verse. 1-21

There are people who believe in miracles; but may be confused to what is a miracle. Miracle is defined as a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency. The splitting of the Red Sea and Noah’s Ark may be classified as a miracle. Some may believe that a cure from cancer may be a miracle, or surviving from a sky diving accident may be a miracle. But these are not miracles. These are rare incidents that are explained by science and mathematics. It is like the chances of winning a lottery, slim but possible. Whether these miracles of survival are the result of divine intervention is debatable.

It is my personal opinion that when fact and fiction become difficult to distinguish, the mind becomes easy prey to manipulation. Reasoning goes out the window, making more room for greed and arrogance in the mind. It is with this delusional mind, that some kill in the name of their religion. It is with this warning that God in the Tip of the Writing Brush tells us that we do not understand.

Finding God (revised)

What separates human beings from other species is that we are able to reason. It is said that the world operates by the principle of cause and effect; every action has a reaction. This is the reason why we try to collect all the information when a crime occurs. We attempt to find the cause.

The proponents of causality also believe that there is cause and effect to why we suffer or have joy. We believe that suffering or joy is a result of our past behaviors. We reap what we have sowed. But unlike the cause that we can identify to confirm why an event occurred, the cause of suffering or joy may be difficult to identify unless we delve into our past lives. This concept of reincarnation may makes it difficult for the westerner to grasp the concept of causality in relationship to why we suffer or have joy. But there is another reason why understanding causality is so important.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, God emphasizes to understand the cause or origin of mankind. This is the “Original Causality,” or the first causality. Why is it so important to understand the origin or cause of mankind? It is important because when we find out the cause of why mankind was created, we find God as the creator. The original causality confirms the existence of God.

The law of causality gives us our future, but it also points to where we all come from. We all originated from God. We are all brothers and sisters.

Finding God

What separates human beings from other species is that we are able to understand. We are able to reason. It is said that the world operates by the principle of cause and effect. This is the reason we are trying to find the cause of the Malaysian airline catastrophe in the Ukraine. We attempt to collect all the facts to determine what caused the event.

The proponents of causality also believe that there is cause and effect to why we suffer or have joy. We believe that suffering or joy is a result of our past behaviors. We reap what we have sowed. But unlike the cause that we can identify to confirm why an event occurred, the cause of suffering or joy may be difficult to identify unless we believe in past lives. The cause of our suffering or joy may be found in previous lives.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, God emphasizes us to understand the cause or origin of mankind. This is the “Original Causality.” Why is it so important to understand the origin or cause of mankind? It is important because when we find out why mankind was created, we find God. The original causality confirms the existence of God.

The prayer to end the wars

With the increase of violence in the Middle East, and the tragedy in the Ukraine this week, the escalation of blame increases in the world. We blame the sufferings and inconveniences on others. How do we end this cycle of retribution? In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

God sincerely desires only to end the wars

among those on the high mountains. 13-50

By what means can they be ended?

If only you set forth on the Joyous Service. 13-51

The Joyous Service is a prayer asking God to show the world the relationship between the mind and what occurs in the future. These truths are called causality and reincarnation. We reap what we sow. Many times we are at loss when suffering occurs because death acts as a partition that obscures the cause. We tend to blame the messenger that brings upon the sufferings instead of looking within ourselves.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, God advises us to spread the truth of causality. With the acceptance of our special prayer, God will begin to show people the relationship between our minds and our bodies. The following is from the Tip of the Writing Brush:

Today, you must explain my talks to others

in detail step by step. The time has at last come. 14-65

There will be no understanding about anything

unless you tell them. Tell them everything all in detail. 14-66

What is it that we must tell the world? It is the truth of Causality. It is with Joyous Service (prayer) that God will begin the process of helping the world understand causality.

Our special prayer:

Evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) sweeping, save them please, Universal Saving God

The Three Treasures

I remember the Presidential Campaign when Gov. Romney made a statement that nearly 50% of the American people are supported by Government aide or pay no taxes. This resulted in a fury of anger, especially by the liberals. Since Lyndon B. Johnson’s project to help the poor, America has seen more and more people on Government aide. It has come to the point that the new generation of poor believe it is their right to receive government assistance. In some of our inner cities, the majority of children are raised by single mothers on government assistance. Where are the fathers to teach them the values of hard work?

The following is from the Anecdotes of Oyasama from the 19th century Japan:

Once Oyasama said to Izo Iburi, “Izo open your hand.” She had three unhulled grains of rice in her hand, and when Izo opened his hands as requested, Oyasama said:

“This is early rising, this is honesty and this is hard work,”

She placed them one at a time in the palm of his hand. Then she continued:

“Hold these three firmly in your hand. You must try not to lose them.”

Izo adhered to these teachings for the rest of his life.

These three values give one dignity and respect. It gives us a direction and purpose in life. It ultimately leads to our happiness.

The Truth of Heaven

Heaven’s truth is CAUSALITY. We reap what we have sowed. We cannot blame God or others for what happens to us. We must look within ourselves when we suffer or have inconveniences. We must not blame the messenger of the bad news. God sends many messenger daily. It is said that sometimes God makes the bad thrive. The messenger can be someone close to us, or it can even be a total stranger. How many of us blame others for our sufferings or inconveniences in life. If only our neighbors would move away. If only I had a new spouse. If I only I had another boss. But what happens when change occurs? The same problems arise. We must correct the problem from within. It is our own minds that we must purify of greed, arrogance, and self-love. When we purify our minds, then look forward to messengers that will bring upon joy!

It is this understanding of causality that the world must acknowledge. Without this understanding, the cycle of conflicts and wars will continue. Causality requires one to turn the suffering into joy. Anger, greed, and arrogance will only bring upon suffering, while the elimination of these evils from our minds will bring upon joy. The truth of heaven is causality.

Reincarnation and Causality

heaventruth's avatarOFUDESAKI-GOD'S TEACHINGS

Looking at history, many of minds have believed in reincarnation. These include, Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Bonaparte, Henry Ford, General George Patton, etc.… All these men had different beliefs why reincarnation existed. Thomas Edison felt that reincarnation gave mankind endless time to figure out an idea or invention. Patton and Napoleon thought that they were great leaders because they had experience of battle from previous lives. Benjamin Franklin thought dying was a waste of time and energy, and that the soul was eternal.

What is the purpose of reincarnation? What is the reason for these partitions that hide our past lives? It is the belief that knowledge is more assimilated when we learn by ourselves, than when it is forced upon us. How easy would it be for God to punish someone after a crime? But would the person learn from this immediate punishment? It would be fear that…

The Secret of Life

The secret of life is CAUSALITY. We reap what we have sowed. We cannot blame God, or others for what happens to us. We must look within ourselves when we suffer or have inconveniences. We must not blame the messenger of the bad news. God sends many messenger daily. It is said that sometimes God makes the bad thrive. The messenger can be someone close to us, or it can even be a total stranger. How many of us have had road rage due to some stranger who we feel have violated our space on the road? Was the stranger just a messenger delivering the effects of our previous transgressions?

Anger and hate are often caused by events that cause us inconveniences. We may be arrogant in thinking that others, or even God have given us these inconveniences. But in reality, causality says that we are responsible for these inconveniences. It is said that the world is a mirror. What happens to us is a reflection of our minds. If we understand this, the stranger who carelessly tailgates us will be a harmless annoyance. We can carefully navigate the situation with calm.

Causality gives us the opportunity to create a future. We can create a future that is joyous if we react positively (without greed or arrogance) to any situations; or we can continue to create suffering if we respond negatively. We have control of our own destiny.
