God’s love for all mankind is the truth

Understanding causality may be not enough to follow God’s path. In the Osashizu is the following:

In the world’s path, you can do whatever you want and get away with it, so long as no one sees you do it. But in the path of the heart (causality), it all comes to bear on you. In the world’s path, you never know what pitfalls lie ahead or where swords await you. And since God’s path is a path of the three-inch heart, your ideas of wanting to follow this path many not be enough to get you through it.  January 27, 1891

If one does not understand causality, one would be at loss when tragedy or the unexpected occurs. When one understands causality, one can accept the unacceptable, knowing that positive responses will plant good seeds that will bloom in the future.

But sometimes even when one is aware of causality one regresses to negative responses when tragedy or the unexpected occur. Worry, arrogance, greed, and self-love reappear which plants the seeds for sufferings. This is why one must have single-hearted faith in God’s love for all mankind. We must eliminate our selfishness, in order for us to follow God’s path to a joyous life. Causality is the truth that one must understand; but God’s love for all mankind is the ultimate truth that we must all understand. God’s love is unlimited!

God’s Truths

Many people wonder why the promised time has not come.  Why are our prayers not answered? In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

Step by step, I have taught the truth of single-heartedness with God.  But you still do not understand. 2-12

Though I desire to go forth quickly, there is no path. I cannot go forth. 2-13

This path I wish to open quickly, but there are no places that teach it.  2-14

This path if you truly desire it to occur, ponder over everything from your innermost heart. 2-15

What do you think this talk is about? I am hastening for the places where God’s truth is conveyed. 2-16

The question arises, what is God’s truth? As churches, are we teaching God’s truth, or are we teaching what we think are God’s truth  (human truth)? The promised times have not come. Are we teaching God’s truths?

Why is it so difficult to forgive?

Why is it so difficult to forgive? There are those who were the closest of friends who have never talked to each other again. There are relatives that have closed their ties because there is no forgiveness. How do we eliminate the barrier?

It is the dust of arrogance that breaks the bond, and it is the same dust that prevents us from connecting the bond. What is arrogance? Arrogance is the feeling of superiority due to having more than someone. This can be more education, more knowledge, more money, more power, or even more religious values (moral).  Many times, when we accuse or judge a person we are using the dust of arrogance. We are at risk of breaking a bond.  Sometime the bonds are close to breaking, like a rope that is ready to snap. But whether it is a weak or strong bond, once the bond breaks, it is difficult to unite again.

How do we connect the bond? We must eliminate arrogance. But unless both parties remove the dust, it will be extremely difficult.  To forgive, without removing arrogance is like a bandage over an amputation. The forgiveness will not work.  Both parties must make herculean efforts to remove their arrogance.

Finding Hope

Webster defines religion as: an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods. Overall religion is supposed to make one closer with God, and in essence become good. Like a recipe book, if followed closely, the end result is a scrumptious meal. In the case of religion, the end result is a joyous life on earth and in heaven.

But there are religions that are difficult to follow. Even the clergy who are supposed to be closer to God stray from the path. If those who dedicate themselves to God have difficulty, how are the common people to follow?

There are religions to profess that theirs is the true religion, but kill and maim in the name of their God. Is this good? Is this what God what? Will this make you closer to God?

Beware of the wolf that comes in sheep’s clothing. Have faith, but not blind faith. Ponder, and do not rush to make judgments. Use your common sense, which God has given you. What helps others is the true path. Seek a religion that helps others.

The fly on the wall

What would we see if we could place ourselves out of the picture?  Like an impartial outsider looking through a clear window, we see a new world. Without greed, arrogance, hate and everything evil that is attached to our selfish minds, we can see more clearly the world around us. With the elimination of our precious baggage, we see the world in a different perspective.

We see the peasant and the emperor at the same level of importance. Money and power and other selfish goals become nonexistent. We see a world where many people are suffering.  But because, we are devoid of our self-concerns, we are able to discern the concerns of others. Helping others and lessening the sufferings become our goal.

But does this mean that we abandon our goals and aspirations? It is okay to strive to become a chief executive officer, professional athlete, or a politician.  These are goals that can run parallel with our detachment of evil.  Following our goals and aspirations, often bring upon people who we can assist and nourish; other times, it brings forth people who help and assist us.

Continue to have goals and aspirations. They become the portal where people come into our lives.  When others come into your life, take yourself out of the picture, and ponder.  Remove greed, arrogance and self love from your mind.  Pray for God’s assistance. Help others!

We All Have Sinned

The truth of causality is said to be difficult to accept. It is difficult to accept that the sufferings of this life may due to what we have done in our past lives.  How can we place blame on the child for their sufferings? How cruel, how insensitive we are.

In truth, we all have sinned; and we all suffer because of this. There is no shame in suffering. Even in the Bible, There is a scene of a stoning, where Jesus tells the crowd that those without sin throw the first stones. Jesus is telling us that we have all used our minds in a negative response.

There is shame in the act of evil or sin; but there is no shame in the effects of these sins. Causality gives us the opportunity to reflect on our sufferings so we can plant good seeds that will sprout as joy in the future. The law of causality gives us an opportunity for a joyous future. It will purify the minds of the world.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, it is said that when suffering occurs to others, we must not blame or feel pity for them; but we should help and console them. We must encourage them that they can create a joyous future by the principle of causality.  Good thoughts and actions will bring forth joy.

Reincarnation as a link to Causality

Understanding the law of causality is what will bring peace to the world. Causality is the Truth of Heaven. Our actions today will affect our future. Reincarnation is the process we must understand to see the relationship between cause and effect.  It is the last piece of the puzzle to understand why we suffer or have joy.  Our actions do have an affect in the future.

The subject of causality has a always had a negative view. It brings upon a feeling of hopelessness in situations of unchanging fate. We are helpless in preventing the effects of our actions. It also brings upon others disdain and judgment of our sufferings. To them, it appears that our sufferings are justified.

But on the other side, causality gives one the opportunity of creating joy, even if one has been an evil person. One’s good actions of today will bring forth joy in the future. By one’s good action today, one cannot cancel the effects of his or her former evil.  The bad seeds planted in the past will need to come to fruition.

The world is indeed a mirror of our minds. We sow what we plant.  By understanding causality, we can purify our minds.  The suffering may be unbearable now, but the process of causality gives everyone the opportunity for joy in the future. Sometime it is a difficult path to follow because of what we have done in the past: but it is a fair process of saving all mankind.

Heaven’s Truth Church

In the world, there are sunny days, and cloudy days. Every type of day is manifested by our minds. With each manifested day, if we go through with a purity of mind, then every day will eventually become a sunny day.

Can Christians believe in Causality?

What is the goal of every Christian?  It is to get into heaven, where joy and happiness will be forever: sharing this happiness with love ones.

This is the goal of the Heaven’s Truth Church (Tenrikyo). We believe that eventually all mankind with live in joy. But how do we create this heaven, or heaven on earth?

We believe in this process called causality; mankind will be able to create joy in the future. But by this process, man will also be able to to create suffering. We have a special prayer asking God to help the world realize the truth of causality. By understanding causality, we can plant seeds (good thoughts and behavior) that will blossom into joy in the future. When this happens, this will be Heaven, or Heaven on earth.

Unlike other religions, we believe that eventually all mankind will be in heaven. We pray for the happiness of all mankind. We pray for the joyous life or heaven that all religions seek. We believe that the truth of causality will bring upon this heaven.
