The Prophecy of the world

I just receive a pamphlet on my doorstep about the prophecy of the end of the world. This pamphlet was titled the Prophecy of Hope. The introduction revealed the drop of moral, political and social decay, and terrorism at home and abroad, leading to the destruction of the world for the second time.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush, there is a different perspective of the future of the world.

I begin to make the truth known to all humankind

From my desire to save the world. 9-28

Instead of the destruction of the world, God is planning to save the world. But how is this going to be done?

When God in truth begins to work,

The minds of all in the world will be purified. 5-49

Illness and disorders are going to be placed on our bodies if we have greed, arrogance, and self-love in our hearts. When people begin to see this relationship between the paths of the mind and their illness, they will begin to sweep these evils from their minds. The minds of the world will become pure: therefore only joy will germinate in the future due to the law of cause and effect. Good actions and thoughts bring joy, and evil thoughts and actions bring forth suffering. When the minds of the world are purified, the joyous world will occur by people helping each other.

Of course, we have the choice to ignore God’s guidance, which will lead to the continual suffering of the world, and its eventual destruction, making the prophecy come true. But with our prayer to God to sweep greed, arrogance, and self-love from all mankind, God will hopefully continue to work to save the world. The Joyous world occurring in both heaven and earth?

“Evil (greed, arrogance, self love) sweeping, save us please, Universal Saving God.”

Work means……..

In Japanese hataraku means work. If you divide the word, you get hata, which means 3rd person, and raku, which is translated as relax.  Hataraku could literally mean effort that makes the surrounding people comfortable. How unique, working to make our customers and supervisors happy!  But how many of us do make our supervisors and customers happy with our efforts at work. What prevents us from making the atmosphere at work relaxing and comfortable?

Have you ever called someone or emailed someone many times, without receiving a reply? Have you had coworker that was rude with customers, or associates? Have you had experience with people who didn’t care about your concerns? These people definitely do not fit into the definition of work of making people comfortable.

But what makes these people so callous? The person, who does not return your calls, does not care about your time or efforts. The person, who is rude with the customers, belittles the consumer. The person, who avoids your concerns, does not care about you. Sometime we don’t even realize that we have become arrogant and lazy at work. We start to consider work as only a source of our paycheck.

If we work to satisfy our customers and our bosses as our primary goal at work, the office environment will be less stressful, and more enjoyable. Not only have we created a pleasant environment, but we have planted the seed of joy in our future.

Arrogance by definition is an attitude of superiority. Many people do not realize that arrogance is one of the evils that God dislikes. Is it the same category of the other sins like greed and selfishness? What is more evil, the person who steals or a person who is arrogant? Both cause suffering in the recipient. Does God distinguish these two evils differently?

So the next time, someone calls you at work, return the call promptly. When a customer has a concern, research and help him or her as they were your family. When the fan hits the ceiling at work, step back and be courteous.  When all this occurs, the Japanese word of hataraku is realized, and arrogance is eliminated from our minds.  Not only have we created a happy environment, we have planted a seed of happiness in our future (see past blog of the law of cause and effect).

Sweep evil from your heart/2

There are people who are sincere, and truly believe in helping others. There are also people who are only concerned about themselves, and do not care what others think about themselves. There are also people who pretend to care about others, but their actions reflect their selfish purpose.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush is written:

Since it is God who began the world,

there is nothing unknown to Me. 8-11

The innermost heart of everyone in the world

is all reflected to God. 8-12

In Summary, whatever is in your heart, God clearly sees. You may be able to fool yourself or others; but you can not deceive God. God sees your thoughts. Whether you believe in heaven or heaven on earth, your future happiness depends on your thoughts and actions. It does not depend on our earthly possessions, and you cannot depend on material wealth to cause happiness. Our material wealth can be stolen and lost; our hearts (soul and mind) continue. It is only the pure mind that will lead to joy.

How do we obtain this pure mind? Sweep greed, arrogance, and self love from your mind. If this is difficult, pray and ask God for guidance. When all mankind is pure from the heart, the world will experience joy that has never been seen before. Joy brought forth by helping each other.

Causality

Today , we see joy and happiness, and we also see pain and suffering. Does any one know why some live happy lives while others suffer? Is it random or fate? In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

There can be no help for what you have done self-centeredly.

I can only look on caringly. 16-32

Whatever may happen, bear no grudge,

it is what each of you has done to yourself.  17-60

Is it possible that we have created are own suffering or joy? If we have created our own suffering, how can we alleviate it? Can God help us?

In the Tip of the Writing Brush is a verse;

Know that I shall sweep the heart

of each of you in the world step by step.  17-61

God will sweep evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from our minds. How would he do this?  By placing illness or disorders on our bodies, God is showing us our minds.

When we realize that these illness are guidance from God and ponder, we can remove these evil thoughts from our minds. With the removal of these negative thoughts, the illness or disorder is returned to God and health is restored.

When these evils are removed from our minds, we create a joyous future. The is the law of causality.  The law of causality states that every action results in a reaction in the future. For example, an evil deed will result in suffering in the future, as a good action will result in joy.

It is foretold that world will eventually realize  the relationship between illness and the paths of the mind.  When this relationship is realized by the world, guidance from God will not be needed. Illness and disorders will  eventually disappear!  People will begin to sweep greed, arrogance and self love by themselves without God’s guidance (illness).  When this happens, the joyous future for mankind is guaranteed.

There is still hope for the salvation of all mankind, even those who been given up by society.  By purifying their minds now, they guarantee themselves of joy in the future.  They may still suffer due to your previous acts (causality), but in time the suffering  too will pass; but they can look forward to the joy in the future from the good seed that was  planted today!

Buy dearly and sell cheaply

Our foundress once told a merchant  “A businessman must buy dearly and sell cheaply.”  The merchant wondered if I buy from someone at a high price, and sell my goods cheaply, I will certainly run myself out of business. But it is said that the merchant followed Oyasama’s advise, and lived a prosperous and happy life.

From an economical point, one would be buying the best materials to build the product, and one  will have to create a large customer base to make up for the small profit on each sale. Everyone hopefully gains from this system.

From a religious view, the merchant will be bringing joy to both the distributors and buyers by saving both of them money. This I believe will please God, and bring joy to everyone involved.

But is this the way that most people run their business these days? Today we attempt to get the most money out of our efforts. We try to cut corners by using the cheapest materials to save money; and try to increase prices  to get the most money from our consumer. Is there a bit of greed involved? Absolutely! Sound a little like that the Christmas story of the Scrooge. The accumulation of money through greed resulting in wealth, but unhappiness.

What is the moral of the story I am trying to get to? Money gained through greed will not result in happiness, but suffering. Look at the lives of the lottery winners. Many would say that they wish they would have never won the lottery.  Money gained for the purpose of gaining wealth may not bring happiness.

One experience that we all can relate to  is the buying of an automobile. In the past this has been a very stressful experience, a situation screaming of Greed. Each individual trying to get the best out of the other, negotiating the price of the auto. I remember that last time, I went to an auto dealer negotiating with a young inexperienced  sales person. He had actually obtained a car that I wanted from another city that was 200 miles away. I had thought that it was carried on a truck, but he had actually with his girl friend picked up the car, and drove back the new car to the lot. Initially I was hesitant to buy the car with the additional 200 miles on the speedometer, but I also wanted to help this young salesman. So I ended buying the car. I am not sure how much profit the young man received from the transaction, but he was a happy man. For me, the car has been a blessing. I have driven over 130,000 miles now with out any major bills, unlike some of the other cars I have bought in the past. Some would say that I have been lucky that I have not had any major repair, but maybe God has rewarded me for my good deed?

In summary, share your blessing with others, and blessings will be given back to you. Ask God to sweep away the greed in your mind, so that charity can flow from your heart. When this happens, joy will spread to others, but also come back to you ten fold.

Arrogance

Most people believe that arrogance is a negative trait. But what is arrogance, and how do we know we have it.  Arrogance is the feeling that one is superior than others due to wealth, race, education, etc.…  One way to detect arrogance may be to measure anger. Anger is an emotion that arises from arrogance. Everyone has experienced the physical symptoms of anger.  The increased palpitation of the heart, the increased body temperature, and heaviness of the throat.

Let me give two examples of arrogance that you may also have experienced. Many people have to share offices or rooms that have one thermostat. Yes that infamous thermostat that people surreptitiously approach and change. Yes, that thermostat that we try to keep one eye while we work.  How many times have you seen confrontation at work because of the difference in room temperature? The anger arises because someone has changed the temperature to a setting which we are uncomfortable with.  But many times we don’t consider the circumstances. We don’t know if the person who changes the thermostat has a physical condition, or maybe they are just uncompromising. But whatever reason, that anger arises because we feel that we have been wronged. This anger may arise from our arrogance.

Consider the driver that tailgates you on the freeway, anger arises in you. Yet you don’t know the circumstance of the other driver. Maybe he has a very good reason for driving fast, like a medical emergency to the hospital. Or maybe he and his spouse just had an argument and is in an angry mood. We presume we have been wronged. That is why anger arises in us. We have arrogance in our mind.

Our foundress once said, if you have anger, you do not know the teachings of God. If you understand God’s truth, anger should not arise. That is why we should try to sweep the evil of arrogance from our minds, so that anger does not arise.

Man created mankind to…….

Do you ever wonder why God created mankind? Was it to have authority over his creation, to have his creation praise and worship him? Maybe God was lonely and wanted to have companionship, or neighbors to share the wealth of nature he had created? Was man created out of God’s image?  If that is the case, does God have all of man’s traits, good and bad? Is God capable of making mistakes like man? In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the verse:

The reason God began human beings

was the desire to see you lead a joyous life.  14-25

If the minds of the world are spirited in all matters,

the mind of God, also will be spirited. 4-20

Recapitulating the above verses. God created mankind to be spirited or happy. But greed, arrogance, and self love have clouded man’s mind making God sad and regretful.

You human beings must all love your children.

From this, please think of the regret of God. 13-27

God’s relationship with mankind is like a relationship between parent and child.

To God, everyone is my child whoever you may be.

Though I have been watching over you with nothing but love. 12-88

For all of you children in the world,

there is only love in the thoughts of God. 17-49

Even the people that we think are the lowest dregs in society, God loves. Consider the emotions and thoughts of the mothers of the killers, and rapist in this world; they still love their children, remembering the innocence of their youth. It is with this compassion that God has regret, but wants to save all his children.

Think of humans admonishing your children,

the anger comes from love. 5-23

It is with this anger and regret that God will start to sweep evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) from  the hearts of all mankind. When this happens, God will be spirited watching the joyous world. Watch for God’s guidance!

God’s Operant Conditioning

Continuation of previous blog……….

How does God  help people understand the relationship between cause and effect? Remember good thoughts and actions cause joy in the future, and bad thoughts and actions cause sufferings. But the lapse between cause and effect may be too long for us to understand the relationship. Suppose God gives us a glimpse of our future  by distinguishing our current thoughts? God places illness or health on our bodies in distinguishing our thoughts.  We don’t have to wait for a prolong period of time between the cause and effect of our thoughts and actions. By this quick response, the association between our thoughts and future happiness and suffering will be realized.

But there is a prerequisite before God begins to work. The following verse from the Tip of the Writing Brush.

Though I desire to go forth into the open quickly,

I cannot do so because there is no path. 2-13

We must ask God to help us first. This path of joy, begins with our prayer requesting God’s help to sweep away mankind’s evils (greed, arrogance, and self-love).  With the acceptance of our prayers, God begins to place illness and disorders on our bodies, showing the relationship between our thoughts and the future. When we realize this relationship;  and sweep greed, arrogance and self love from our hearts, then our future will be joyous.

Some of you still may be suspicious of the idea that our thoughts and actions may cause joy and suffering in the future. But even if you don’t, bring out that smile at work or home tomorrow. Besides bringing instant joy to the recipient of the greeting, it may also bring upon joy in your future.
