Tenrikyo /Evil is Contagious

Just yesterday, President Trump denounced both sides of the Charlottesville, Virginia  confrontation. The left wing immediately came out criticizing the President for not denouncing the neo nazi racist who initiated the confrontations. In the Tenrikyo Religion (Heaven’s Truth Church), Oyasama once said that sometimes it is better to walk away from a confrontation. By confronting one who is covered by dust, one may become covered with dust also.

Let me explain what dusts are. In our church dust are thoughts of arrogance, greed,  self-love, anger, revenge, etc.  We are told that when one is covered with dust, one is unable to understand God’s truths. These people like the bigots and racists are unable to reason because of the dusts that surround their minds.   Sometimes when we try to reason with them, we become angry and our minds accumulate dusts. It is like the racists have transferred their anger and arrogance to us. This is why God tells us to calm our minds, and avoid confrontation with these arrogant people.  Some of the people went into Virginia for the right reasons of expressing their denouncements of evil, but they only made the situation worse, especially for themselves.

We must stand firm and express our views concerning what we think is right or wrong. But we cannot permanently force our views on those who cannot understand now. In time, we hope these people are awakened to the truth, and will be able to sweep their erroneous thoughts. We must remind ourselves, that evil or dusts are contagious.

Tenrikyo /Why We Need to Remove Arrogance

It is not surprising that most religions do not listens to the concerns and questions of their congregation. Any questions concerning the authenticity of their beliefs will brand you an heretic. When have you ever heard a religion come out and declare that there was a mistake in their interpretation of their sacred books and correct it.  In fact, how many of us have the time and patience to study the authentic sacred books? Many of us depend on the “Higher ups” of the church in explaining the “Words of God”.  Many of the authorities in our religions have been indoctrinated that our sacred books are true and derived from God.  Any debate on religion, they will bring out their “Interpreted Bibles” in proving their side.  To debate with them will be almost useless.

When an individual came out to say that the earth is round and not flat, he was ridiculed and censored. But when the world finally accepted this initially ridiculous proposal, the scientific community was able to discover more information due to this discovery.  It is the same I believe with religion. When we are able to translate our sacred books correctly, we will be able to help others, instead of  inhibiting them.

In the Heaven’s Truth Church (Tenrikyo), Arrogance is one of the evils (sins) that God wants us to remove from our minds. Arrogance is by definition the feeling that one is better than another due to wealth, intelligence, occupation, hierarchy, etc.  Like the other evils of greed and self-love, it makes us close minded and unable to understand other views.  I believe this is a common occurrence with our church leaders. Their righteousness often becomes their handicap. Their minds become like a distorted mirror. A distorted mirror does not reflect the true image. A mind that is infested with arrogance cannot see the truths.

Religion should make people better. It should help people to get along, and not divide them. For those who seriously believe this to be true, we must first remove our arrogance, and question our sacred books. Are they the words of God, or are they derived from the mind of man?

Tenrikyo /From a Knot, a Bud should Sprout

In the Heaven’s Truth Church (Tenrikyo) a knot is an occurrence that brings upon suffering or misfortune. But there is a common saying that from a knot, a bud will sprout. We believe that sometimes a knot is derived from God. If we ponder over the inconvenience as guidance from God and lean on God, these knots become a building block for our salvation. But if we blame others for these inconveniences, and ignore God’s guidance, we continue on the same path opposing God.

Our religious history has examples of where opposition forces have attempted to destroy and damage our places of worship. The incidence of the removal of the temporary Kanrodai (Pillar of God) in our early history, and the recent damage to the temporary Kanrodai are examples of God’s knots, which he delivers to our religion.

In our religion, the Permanent Pillar represents the original pure mind at the creation of human beings. Our sacred books tell us that when all mankind is purified in mind (without sin), a permanent Kanrodai will be constructed. Heavenly dew will then flow from heaven to the receptacle placed on top of the Kanrodai (Oyasama). When this occurs there will be joy in the world.

What is God telling us with the incidents of the Kanrodai? God’s regret and anger do not arise from the perpetrators of the destruction. God allows these inconveniences to occur. God’s regret is from the dust (greed, arrogance, and self-love) of the followers of our religion. God is telling us that the permanent placement of the Kanrodai is far away. We do not understand. We do not understand what our special prayer (Joyous Service) directed at the Kanrodai does. We do not understand the original pure mind. We must read the Ofudesaki (Tip of the Writing Brush) to understand why God is showing us these knots.

Tenrikyo /God Does Not Punish

I would like to talk about illness as God’s guidance. Some people believe that God punishes people when he or she goes against him. Information about God’s punishment is rampant in the Judeo-Christian holy books. From a human perspective, punishment is justifiable when someone takes part in an unlawful act. But for those who love the perpetrator, punishment may not suit the crime. I believe it is also so with God; God does not punish the evil acts of mankind. God loves everyone. In the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), God tells us that he will distinguish between the good and the evil mind. Most people would think that God separates the evil to punish them, but ironically it is the good people that God distinguishes and guides. How does God guide them?

Sometimes pain or suffering is good. Many of you may not agree with the previous statement. But what would happen if you loss the sensation to feel pain? What would happen if you could not feel the heat of the fire? One’s physical body will be in jeopardy. Illness is a warning that something is wrong in our minds. In the Book of Prophecy, God tells us that he uses pain and illness to guide us. God tells us whenever we have illness, to calm our minds and ponder. What does God want us to understand with his guidance? He wants us to remove evil from our minds. God tells us to remove greed, arrogance, and self love from our minds. When we are able to purify our minds, the future will only bring upon joy. We bring upon our own joy or sufferings.

Some may wonder why God does not guide the people with evil minds (kara). When one is imbued with the dusts of greed, arrogance, and self love, one’s understanding is limited. It is like a distorted mirror, where we do not get the true reflection. These people will not be able to understand God’s guidance (illness) when they appear on their bodies. They are not yet able to calm their minds due to the extent of evil in their minds, and will not be able to purify their minds. God does not guide them; it is said that God will deal with these people at a later date, when they are able to understand.

God wants us to understand the soul.

Looking all over the world and through all ages, I find no one who understands the heart (soul).  Tip of the Writing Brush 1-1

Why does God want us to understand the soul? Because our souls determine our future. We suffer or have joy depending on what surrounds our eternal soul.

The soul is who we are. The soul is an amalgam of positive energies; by itself it brings upon joy to ourselves because of these positive energies.  There is “Good” in everyone because of our original pure soul; but our souls have accumulated negative energies around them; this is why we suffer. Let us further explore the soul/heart.

The soul is an individualized ethereal positive energy source from God that enters our borrowed bodies at birth or shortly after; and it leaves our lifeless bodies at death to return to heaven. During our earthly stays, it collects our evil thoughts as negative energies; and it eventually releases the negative energies back to us as sufferings.

The eternal soul carries our negative energies. These energies transform into our former thoughts and also manifest into sufferings, temptations, and inconveniences that come back to us as fate or illness. When the soul enters our bodies after birth, the negative energies around the soul converts back into our former thoughts, and permeates our minds; death does not erase our evil thoughts. This will explain the origin of anger in innocent children. Our evil thoughts do not disappear with the demise of our bodies; the soul carries them until we are able to remove them from our minds. These negative energies surrounding the soul also manifest into sufferings, temptations and inconveniences that come back to us as fate or illness. The biblical proverb, “We reap what we sow” would appear to be true.

By these inconveniences that the soul delivers, they help us eliminate evil thoughts from our minds; these inconveniences work to remind us of the evils in our minds. These evil thoughts are greed, arrogance, miserliness, covetousness and self-love. All other evil thoughts are derived from or a combination of these five categories of thoughts; for example anger and hate are derived from arrogance. These evil thoughts when placed into action causes sufferings to others; but unknown to most of us, they also brings upon suffering back to the perpetrators of the evil actions as a result of the soul.

How does the soul eliminate evil from our minds? If we calm our minds and ponder; and do not act on our existing evil thoughts when faced with what the soul metes out (sufferings, inconveniences and temptations), these thoughts from our minds  gradually subside. Our minds  becomes pure, and the evil surrounding our souls are eliminated. This results in a pure soul void of negative energy, which brings upon a joyous life for the individual.

For many people, the purification of the mind will be a long process, dependent on the amount of negative energy they have accumulated around their soul, which is also equivalent to the amount of evil thoughts in their mind. These sufferings that the negative energies manifest will test their resolve of not taking action on their evil thoughts. But if they continue to control their evil thoughts by not acting on them, the evils in their mind will be eliminated.  There is a saying that from  knots (sufferings),  buds (opportunities to remove evil thoughts) will sprout if we understand the soul.

But suppose we do not understand what the soul does? If we act on our evil thoughts when the soul distributes its negative energy, others will suffer and our minds will continue to produce more negative thoughts. This increases the negative energy surrounding our pure soul, causing the soul to bring upon more suffering upon ourselves.  From  knots, knots will continue to sprout if we do not understand the soul. Do not ignore the manifestations of the soul. This is why we must not blame others for any inconveniences or sufferings; they are manifestations of our own souls. We must look within our minds to understand why the soul brings upon sufferings, temptations and inconveniences.

It is this  soul/heart that will continue for eternity, inhabiting sometimes imperfect bodies, and  sometimes producing unimaginable sufferings; but it is the soul that brings upon these conditions by releasing these negative energies surrounding it. This religion explains how to remove these negative energies surrounding the soul, so we can uncover the pure heart/soul and live the “Joyous life”. The following verse summarizes the path of the soul/heart.

“In the world’s path, you can do whatever you want and get away with it, so long as no one sees you do it. But in the path of the heart/soul, it all comes to bear on yourself”

OUR BELIEFS FROM A RELIGIOUS PERSPECTIVE:

God descended from heaven to teach us about the soul.  He encouraged the early followers to remove evil thoughts from their minds, often placing temporary illness on their bodies to help them understand the relationship between the mind, body and soul.

God told his followers that shared joy is true joy. We can not have true joy while others suffer. We must share these teachings with others. He gave them special instructions to bring others to our places of worship. God told his followers that he would begin to place illness on others in relationship with the evil thoughts in their minds to help them understand the soul. God gives them a preview of what sufferings they may endure if they continue to harbor evil thoughts. This special guidance is what makes this religion so unique. We pray for the salvation of others!

This guidance as illness is only initiated with our special prayer (Joyous Service) that God has granted to us.  When people we have introduced the soul come to us to be healed, we further explain the soul and God’s teachings.  They are then healed and are able to understand the soul; and begin to purify their minds. This process of purifying the mind, spreading the truth, and praying continues until all mankind is purified of evil in their minds. God hastens for the day that all minds of the world are pure. When this occurs, there will be heaven on earth for all of God’s children.

OUR PATH:

To continue to purify our minds of negative thoughts ( sin/evil ) when confronted with temptation and sufferings manifested by the soul.

To spread and share God’s truth; telling people that illness and suffering may be God’s guidance to help one understand the soul/heart. This conveyance of God’s truth is called hinokishin .

To pray daily with our special prayer (Joyous Service), asking God to help people understand the soul/heart and to sweep evil from their minds.

Evil sweeping. Save them please, Universal Saving God .

To heal the people whose minds have been revealed when God guides them to us; and teach them about the soul (heart), causality and true sincerity. True sincerity is a mind that ponders over suffering and obstacles that the soul delivers, and accepts these inconveniences in a joyous manner. This will make our minds pure and spirited; and by the principle of causality will bring forth joy in the future due to the pure soul (heart).

GOD’S PROMISE:

All mankind will live a joyous life with everyone helping each other.

Recently, there has been talk of killing these evil people, so that we will not have to worry about them harming us. From a logical point of view it does make sense; but from a practical approach, it will not be possible to eliminate every terrorist. It will not be possible, because there is a pool of people who share the same evil thoughts as the terrorists. These evil thoughts like viruses are contagious, and easily transferred from one impure mind to another. How do we prevent the spread of these evil thoughts that originate from a particular religion?

I will be politically incorrect and will talk about the Muslim religion or idealism, which is turning out these evil thoughts. Yes, the world continues to say that the majority of Muslims are good people, and oppose these terrorists; but it is from this pool of believers that these terrorists come from. We must deal with the Muslim religion.

We must become politically incorrect, and say that the Muslim religion is evil. We must change the minds of the terrorist, and the Muslim people and show them that their religion is wrong. How do we show a religion of billions of people that their religion may be wrong? How do we change the mindset of people who may kill for their religion, believing that God is with them? In the Book of Prophecy, God tells us to purify our minds of greed, arrogance, and self love. God tells us to calm our minds, and ponder. When we purify our minds, we will be able to understand God, and his teachings. God also tells us to pray with a pure mind to help these people eliminate evil from their minds.

Tenrikyo /How Do We Change Our Fate?

Why is change so difficult? We all promise that we will change, but will we? Statistics will say that we do not change. Look at the recidivism rate of alcoholics and gamblers. He or she may promise to stop his or her destructive behavior, but statistics will again show us that they will fail. So how do we change our behaviors when confronted with life’s challenges or temptations?

God tells us that there is fate that each of us carries with us. It is this fate that either presents to us as suffering or joy. This may explain why some people are inclined to become alcoholics and addicts, or why some people suffer. This may also explain why good people sometimes suffer. How do we make it possible to have only “Good” fate. God tells us to calm our minds, and ponder when confronted with challenges or temptations.

How do we calm our minds? God tells us to remove the thoughts of greed, arrogance, and self-love in order to eliminate “bad” fate. God also tells us that this is difficult to accomplish. But by acknowledging and not acting on these evil thoughts, we can eventually eliminate these thoughts from our minds. It is these evil thoughts that surround the pure soul (heart), and prevent it from radiating joy in our lives. It is these evil thoughts that the soul carries, that become our fate.

But negative fate is not hopeless. On the contrary, it gives us opportunities to purify our minds. It is our actions upon facing these confrontations that prove our intent. In the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), God tells us that he does not want our apologies; it is to our positive actions that God accepts. It is these repeated challenges and temptations (fate), which provide us the opportunity to remove evil from our minds. It is the calming of our minds, and not acting on our evil thoughts that will eventually eliminate these thoughts from our minds. When this happens, our souls become detached from the negative fate (evil thoughts), and radiate only joy.

It is this soul (heart) which is not identifiable in our physical bodies that we claim to carry our negative thoughts (fate). Like the DNA of our genes, it appears to carry information that will affect our future. But unlike the immutable development of our genes, we can change our fate by changing our thoughts. We can do this by calming our minds and pondering.

Tenrikyo /Happy Mother’s Day

As most of us celebrate Mother’s Day today, we must remember and thank the original mother of all mankind. I will explain further. In the Christian religion, Jesus is considered the Son of God and was sent to save mankind. In the Heaven’s Truth Church (Tenrikyo), Miki Nakayama (Oyasama) was sent by God to save all mankind. Both were sent by God to teach mankind; but more important to help all mankind live a joyous life in heaven or on earth.

In Japanese, Oya is translated as parent.  In the story of creation in the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), God created mankind to live a joyous life with everyone helping each other. From the Muddy Oceans, God randomly selected life from the sea, and created the first ancestors of mankind. God is said to have contributed his pure mind (heart/soul) to the first parents of mankind. Therefore, all humans have all the genes of the organisms of the ancient seas, but we also have the pure mind of God, which people refer as the soul or heart. But unfortunately, through incarnations, we have covered our hearts/soul with the evils of greed, arrogance, and self-love. We call these evils dust, but Christians may label them as sins.

The Mother of mankind was sent back to help mankind uncover our souls/hearts of these evils. God through Oyasama has given us the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki). In the sacred book, God gives us the instructions on how to remove evil (sins) from our souls/hearts. It is through the everlasting efforts of Oyasama, that we give thanks to the first mother of mankind.

Thank you Oyasama!

Tenrikyo /The “Key” is the Pure Mind

For those who believe that your religion is the truth, how do you spread the truth to the world? Some religions use fear in recruiting people; other religions promise a reward to bring people into their place of worship. In the Heaven’s Truth Religion (Tenrikyo), God tells us that he has already given us the truth. The secret to the “Purpose of life” is in this book called the Book of Prophecy (Ofudesaki), which is comprised of over 1000 verses. This book is accessible to anyone who has Internet access at heaventruth.com or the time to visit a few of our churches sparsely distributed across the country. The book is attainable, but is not easily comprehended. God tells us that to understand God’s truth, we must remove evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) thoughts from our minds. It is like God has placed the truth in a locked container, which everyone has access to. The key to the container is found in our minds. It is a pure mind that will open God’s truth.

Tenrikyo /Reincarnation as the Truth

The world is round, and it is not flat. This discovery, which was at first ridiculed, initiated the impetus in science of new discoveries. It is our old and false beliefs that sometimes hinder our progress as human beings. There is reincarnation, and there is no heaven or hell. How much more does the world have to suffer before we realize that we are causing our own sufferings? Our present conditions are what we have done in the past. Our actions of what we do today are foretelling our future. Our future is what we do today. We have control.   God tells us that we see joy and suffering in the world and we see good and evil in the world; but we do not understand the relationship.

The majority of the world is brainwashed into believing that there is a God that wants praise, and worship. But God loves us, like we love our own children. Do we want our children to praise or worship us? We want for them to have a great life. It is the same with God, God wants the world to live in joy. Yet there are religions that advocate the enslavement, and elimination of individuals that do not have their beliefs. But does God want us to kill his own children?

What greater blessing than a system of purification of the mind that God has created? We control our own destiny. If we do evil, we suffer. If we do good, we have joy. We are in control. Yet there are many in the world that only care about themselves or their families, and take advantage of others. They do not realize that they are harming themselves. God tells us that are merits and evils are accounted as credits and debits that must eventually be distributed. It is not God we must fear, it is our evil actions that we must fear.

Yet there is some of my Christian brother that will say that we are good and we believe in heaven. But you must realize that there are other religions that believe in the same concept of God and heaven that you believe in. One side may die for that belief, and the other side may kill for that belief.

Even Jesus said that he would be resurrected after death. Was he talking about reincarnation? Was he telling people, that you can kill my body, but you cannot eliminate the soul, which will come back? One of the bloggers once told me that the early Christians believed in reincarnation; might this be true?

It may not be a belief in heaven that will eventually save the world. It may be the belief in reincarnation that will enlighten our minds, to remove the evils in our minds. This will bring upon heaven on earth. Your thought please?
