Why do we suffer

Many religions profess that God will forgive you for your sins if you admit to them. But in the Osashizu, it is stated that words or intention have less influence than action. It is the actual behavior when confronted with the same temptations, or crisis that God accepts as our apology.  For example, there are many alcoholics, gamblers, or sex addicts that apologize to God for the past improprieties; but when confronted with the same temptations, they succumb to their weakness. It is only when they resist their temptations that God actually forgives them.

Whether these sufferings or temptation originate from God, or is a result of our own actions (causality), it does not matter.  They appear to purify our hearts. For many, including myself, we may need many inconveniences to purify our hearts. For example, I have resolved not get angry with others, but today when confronted with an inconvenient situation, I became angry with another person. In my case, I have not yet purified my heart.

If you believe in causality, I have created more suffering for myself in the future by my actions of today.  I will have to prove my resolve again.  If you believe in God testing my resolve, he will have to continue to test me with these inconveniences until I purify my heart.

In summary, words are less effective then action. God accepts our apology and resolve only by our actions when confronted with suffering or temptation. For many of us purification of the heart is a difficult task. Suffering, temptations and inconveniences provide opportunities where we can ask forgiveness from God. Sweep evil from your hearts when confronted with suffering.

Causality as God’s Truth

Suppose you can create your own script. Each day gives you the opportunity to create your future. Give, care, and empathize, and you create joy for others; but also joy for your own future. Take, abandon, and judge, you create suffering for others; but also suffering for your future. This is causality.

Suffering is temporary and fleeting. It is the mindset that accepts these inconveniences as the result of ones past actions, and the determination to eliminate greed, arrogance and self love that God accepts.  It is this attitude that will bring forth joy in the future.

It is said in the Tip of the Writing Brush that only when we accept the concept of causality can we understand God’s intention of creating mankind. Causality is God’s truth.

In the beginning, there was……….

Someone once asked, what makes your religion different from any other. This is my answer.

In the beginning, there was God who created the earth. He saw the beauty of the earth and the universe; but there was something that was missing. He wanted to feel joy and spirited, and thus had an idea to create human beings that would live a joyous life. From the muddy oceans, he selected randomly the instruments that would become the first human beings. He selected a loach, and a serpent that would become the parents of all mankind. From the vast oceans, he selected different animals and their characteristics that would be incorporated into the first parent of mankind. It is said that God promised these instruments of creation that he would bring them back after cycles of rebirths from the early organisms of the ocean to human beings (evolution). He would then explain to them why God created mankind at a specific time and location. This is where and when our religion originated. Our mission is to tell the world why God created mankind. God has created mankind to live a joyous life with everyone helping each other.

It is this act of God randomly selecting the instruments of creation that makes our religion different from other religion. It could have easily been you or me that was swimming in the early ancestral pool of the muddy oceans.  To God, everyone is his or her child. There are no favorites. There is no hierarchy when it comes to God. Every one is equal in the eyes of God.

It is this equality of each human being, and the potential for everyone to live a joyous life that our religion introduces to the world. God created human beings to live a joyous life. Our religion explains how to live a joyous life.

Bill Nye, the Science Guy

I heard the anticipated debate on creation-evolution attended By Bill Nye, the Science Guy.   Both sides would say that they had won the debate.  Professor Nyle would have science to backup his theory on evolution, while the creationist quoted the Bible as a source of his truth.

What is the truth? The definition of true by Merriam Webster is:  agreeing with the facts. Does evolution agree with the facts? Does creationism agree with the facts? But what is the definition of fact?   The definition of fact by Webster is: something that truly exists or to have happened.

Evolution is in agreement with the scientific evidence (facts). These facts are fossil remnants of both animal and plants (they truly exists). Radioactive isotopes can determine the age of these fossils. Because these fossils exist, evolution must be true.

Creationism is in agreement with the Bible (facts).  These facts are written words of the apostles (truly exist).  Because these written words exist, creationism must be true.

You can imagine the stalemate that would result from the debate of this controversial issue if both sides use the definition of truth as the litmus paper in proving their theory.

It makes it difficult for the evolutionist to prove their theory, because for them to win the debate, they must first debate the inaccuracies of the bible. This debate will never occur, because the bible is the absolute truth for the creationist.

In the long run, it does not matter if the world was made in 6 days, or millions of years.  Time may be irrelevant when it comes to the salvation of all mankind. But what may matter is finding out why God created mankind.  Understanding God’s intentions may help us remove greed, arrogance, and self love from our minds.

Adorn the Mind

In our lives, many of us try to find happiness with material wealth, including adorning our bodies with fine clothes, makeup and jewelry. In the Osashizu, and some of the religious sacred books, it is advised to adorn your mind instead of your body to find happiness.  How do we adorn the mind?  We must eliminate greed, arrogance, miserliness, covetousness, and self love from our minds. We must decorate our minds with giving, compassion, and understanding.

Material wealth is not evil in itself. But when we pursue riches in pursuit of happiness, the result usually is suffering. Adorn your minds to become spirited.

Dusts of the Mind

I was just cleaning my house with the vacuum cleaner. I have one of those vacuum cleaners that you can see how much debris and dust you have collected, so you can easily dispose of the debris when it is full. I am always so surprised how much dust I have collected. This leads to me to write another blog!

In our religion we call the traits of arrogance, greed, miserliness, covetousness, and self love as dusts. These dusts are attracted to us, many times without our knowledge.

In the Tip of the Writing Brush is the following:

Among all mankind, there is no one who is evil. It is only a bit of dust stuck on. 1-53

It is only because these dusts are imbued in our hearts that we act selfishly. The dusts are perceptible in the criminals in our society, but they may be almost imperceptible to detect in the average person. If we only had a vacuum cleaner that could sweep our dust, we may be surprised at how much dust has accumulated in our hearts.

For many it will be a difficult procedure to sweep the dusts from your hearts. Some may not even know that these dusts have permeated their hearts.  That is why we need God’s help.  It may sound silly, but God may be the vacuum cleaner that can help you sweep the evils from your hearts. Pray to God, and sweep greed and arrogance from your hearts.

What is the Purpose of Suffering

Do we need religion to console our souls when we cannot explain the sufferings that occur in the world? Or do we need religion to explain why we suffer or have joy? Some say, that God controls every minute detail in the world. Others say that God is only a spectator.

If God who created this world has control over this universe, why does he let some suffer? Why do the good suffer? Why do the bad get away? Does God not care? Is there a purpose to suffering? Is this God’s test of our faith?  God does not appear to be good.

If God is only a spectator, God is not powerful like we would hope. Then it is by chance that we suffer or have joy. God is not powerful.

But suppose in making the world, God made a world that was self sufficient, without the daily maintenance of the “All Mighty”. He made the earth with all its cycles, and laws (law of gravity, thermodynamic, etc.).  He also established a cycle (reincarnation) where eventually his children will live a joyous life, with everyone helping each other. This is the law of causality. The law of cause and effect states that evil (greed, arrogance, and self love) acts and thoughts create suffering; while good thoughts and actions lead to a joyous life.  This law like all the laws and cycle of nature has a beneficial effect on the world. It is to purify our minds of evil.

Suffering is not God’s punishment. It is caused by our own actions and thoughts; it is a warning that our hearts may not be synchronized with God’s heart.  When suffering occurs, we must purify our minds and plant good seeds that will blossom into joy in the future. This natural law gives everyone the ability to have a joyous future.  God is good, God is fair, and God is powerful.

The Purpose of Suffering

Do we need religion to console our souls when we cannot explain the sufferings that occur in the world? Or do we need religion to explain why we suffer or have joy? Some say, that God controls every minute detail in the world. Others say that God is only a spectator. And of course there are people that say that God is on their side and will do anything possible to convince others.

If God who created this world has control over this universe, why does he let some suffer? Why do not miracles occur every day? Why are not our prayers answered? Why do the good suffer? Does God not care? Is there is purpose to suffering? Is this God’s test of our faith? Does God play favorites to his chosen children? Does God desire our adulation, and worship?  God does not appear to be good.

If God is only a spectator, God is not powerful like we would hope. Then it is by chance that we suffer or have joy. There is no reason to pray to God.

But suppose in making the world, God made a world that was self sufficient, without the daily maintenance of the all mighty. He made the earth with all its cycles, and laws (law of gravity, thermodynamic, etc.).  He also established a cycle (reincarnation) where eventually his children will live a joyous life, with everyone helping each other. It is to purify our minds.

Suffering is not God’s punishment. It is a mechanism and tool where all of God’s children can eventually lead a joyous life. When suffering occurs, we must purify our minds and plant good seeds that will blossom into joy in the future. All of God’s children have the potential to lead a joyous life. God is good, and God is powerful.
